This city-owned park offers sites with water and electric, many of which are seasonally or permanently occupied. The park is neat, clean and provides facilities for group and community activities. Some sites are accessed by a steep single lane road in poor condition that carries traffic in both directions, luckily there is little traffic on it. We would return to this park due to close proximity to family. - never settled

I have stayed at this campground many times. It is always a nice stay; however, shower curtain was moldy, but by end of stay most were changed out with new. We have already book our next stay here for Labor Day weekend. - dwin a-frame

The lots are big but hardly any shade. This is a relative new campground set on the prairie. Trees have been planted and in time will provide shade. We had a problem with water. The faucet leaked very badly and had to be turned off when we were not using it. If left turned on the water flooded the driveway out to the road. Reported the leakage to campground host and he said parts were on order. Campground host was very friendly and the campground was quiet. We used the campground as a stopping point to visit other places and did not explore the park. - CyberRanger

This is a very open prairie style campground. You won't have privacy between your camping neighbors but if you are going to be exploring other areas of the park with your toad then this might not be a problem. Nice lake with plenty of hiking trails but there is a massive tick population ready to pounce. We returned from our hike with 30 ticks between the four of us. Hookups are dandy, just wish there was more private sites. Only the inside sites have the full hookups, the outer sites are electric only. Camp hosts are very polite and helpful. They deliver ice and firewood to your site if needed. Bring bikes, kayaks, fishing poles etc., to keep busy. Surrounded by small towns without a lot of action so make sure to be fully stocked up on fun and food/goodies before you pull in. I imagine this place is super hot in the dead summer due to lack of trees over the campground. If you like a lot of woods and trees, this is not the park for you. - redshoe

We are towing in 45 ft motorhome. This place is 8 miles off the highway BUT has swimming hole, putt putt golf. Most are seasonal but beautiful area arrived for Friday night stay. Half price ice cream, large was over a pint and Saturday breakfast for $5. Almost stayed for bouncy house and seed spitting contest at 2pm. Very friendly host. Would have rated higher if not 8 miles down narrow well paved road. Worth staying more than night. - Cornerstone 18

We stayed a little over 3 weeks while on vacation back in the seasonal camper area. Gravel roads in campground, a little rough and had many potholes. Facilities were clean upfront in the general area, but the seasonal bathroom/shower area was lacking. Campers and owners were polite and fun, planned weekend events, music every other weekend. Only issue was owner was a little lax in his duties, paddle boats upside down in pond for days, fishing docks in ponds broken and sunk in water. Seasonals had to really get on him to get things done or fixed. We had our 30amp electrical outlet burn up and burn the end off a new cord, was without power, no air in 87 degree weather. Was told it would be a while before he could fix it. My husband is an electrician so, he gave us an outlet and we fixed it ourselves!! Customer service goes a long way is all I'm saying. - Princessmoo10

Nice campground for seasonal units or weekend campers. Too far off of the interstate for overnight camping, and roads leading to campground are very narrow with little to no shoulder. Nice restroom facilities, trash around cabins/tent area, narrow roads. - araucanaman
Jun 2018 - $45.00
We have been full time (seasonal) campers here since the resort opened. The sites are very spacious with none of that "crammed in like sardines" feeling. There are acres of groomed trails, two fishing ponds (one for kayaking) and lots of wildlife. Deer are fairly common in the woods. - RandyCW

We pulled in to this campground on Sunday afternoon and there was no one to be seen. I called the phone number on the door and left a message. We parked in a pull through and later the son of the owner came by to accept our payment. He was very nice and apologized explaining that there had been a wedding the day before and he was up most of the night. The park is brand new, the sites are piles of gravel rolled fairly level. They are narrow and most are back in or drive in. There appears to be a nice playground for kids, and a pond in which to try your luck. The road in was just a little narrow and the roads around the park are very narrow for a big rig but we had no real difficulty. We would stop again next time through to see if things improve, as it appears they are trying to create a really nice park. - hutchi
