7 Parks near Brimfield, Illinois
Sep 2015 - $20.00
This is a beautiful State Park. However, Most of the sites are grass and not very level. Only a few had a small gravel base. The camp host was very accommodating and allowed us to pick our own site. There is only water and electric hook ups... but a dump station close by for use. Sites are spacious and not cramped at all. Cell service was spotty-but satellite TV worked ok. There are lots of hiking trails, the area was beautiful. Would stay here again. - oldguyinrv
Aug 2015 - $20.00
We stayed here for a week in August and were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. First of all, the price was excellent at $20/night which accommodated 3 tents with one person each, a van, and an RV with another person...awesome value for our money. There aren't many frills but there are large sites, each including a power hookup free of charge. The pit toilets are closer but there is a free shower and flush toilets within walking distance. The hosts are gone a lot but come by and collect the fees later on so just grab a site. The bugs here are fine compared to other campgrounds such as Kickapoo. For a group outing this place would be wonderful. I don't believe there are any alcohol restrictions and even better no out of state upcharges. - CaliDiscGolf
Aug 2012 - $20.00
If you want peace and quiet this is the place! We were in the last camping loop and never had more than 3 neighbors in the 2 days we stayed. The grounds are beautiful lush grass that is well maintained. There are miles and miles of hiking trails throughout the park, if you're so inclined. We did have a couple of problems. First the trees need trimming badly. While we were backing into our site a branch hooked our TV antenna and ripped it off the roof! Then our RV acquired a dislike for the 30 amp GFCI breaker in the power pedestal. It worked fine all of the first day but then wouldn't hold just at bedtime. One of the maintenance workers changed out the breaker the next day but it too tripped quickly. The worker said this is a frequent occurrence with many RVs and some just leave, not being able to find a site where the 30 amp breaker doesn't trip. We wound up moving to a site with a 50 amp, non-GFCI breaker and had no further problems. It is also a challenge finding a level site. All but a handful slope one way or another. We would definitely camp here again: assuming we could find a level site with 50 amp service! - RVeron
Jul 2011 - $30.00
Spent 2 months here. Monthly rate is $450. Close to grocery store, many restaurants and other services. There are no bathrooms or showers. On a busy road, so it can be noisy. No hiking, but Detweiller Park and Forest Park Nature Center are close by and have good hiking. Managers are very nice and helpful. No wireless, but if you go up to the nearby strip mall there are some free ones. - klh0922
Sep 2009 - $25.00
We found this park on Google. It was perfect for us. It's not fancy and parking the rig took some doing but the manager was most helpful. And once we got parked, we had lots of room on either side. It's part of a mobile home park and very quiet. We met a few very friendly permanent residents who are looking forward to our return. We will be back next spring as we have family here. So we weren't looking for a park that offered any more than a place to park. But it's right on Knoxville Ave so it's easy to get all over Peoria. There are also a number of fast food restaurants and an Italian restaurant within walking distance. Ditto a great hair-dresser. All in all, a great find and highly recommended. - mellowmutts
Jul 2016 - $38.00
Long dusty dirt road to site. No office, met on way in, led to site dirt not level. Had to change and then use blocks to level. Had pull thru, shade, satellite good. - trims
Oct 2014 - $13.00
The owner of the park was friendly but the park itself was in pitiful condition. The trees needed to be trimmed. The office was always locked so you couldn't use the facilities or talk to anyone about concerns. The grass was overgrown and the bug population, in particular, the spiders was unreal. We had to spray around our rig. The water is horrible and stinky I guess it is well water with serious iron overload. It is a shame more time hasn't been taken with this park it could be nice especially considering how close it is to the river but the view is terrible with all of the overgrown brush. The park employees seem odd at best. I noticed one of them tossing trash into the dumpster, missing his mark, and then driving off in his cart leaving the piles on the ground. What a shame. - EasyE RV
Sep 2014 - $13.00
An excellent location under old growth trees on the bank of the Illinois river. Although sometimes listed as Peoria, this CG is actually across the river in East Peoria. Easy access with Class A. Sites are gravel pads, but not necessarily leveled. Some MHs had two wheels off the ground. Sites closest to the river are on soft sand. We camped here in the fall on dry soil. Have to wonder what the dirt roads are like in heavy rains or the river's spring flood. The well water has good pressure, but a distinct mineral (not sulfur) smell. After passing through our string filter, a bottle of water showed orange sediment after 24 hours. We chose not to fill the tank. WiFi coverage was good, but slow and required many repeated sign-ins. PA rate. Staff were friendly. We would stay here again. - LandSchooner
Oct 2008 - $1.00
This is a Casino that allows you to park overnight and they have a few spaces for rigs and trucks. We asked to stay there because the other campgrounds has been flooded out and were too muddy to enter. Worked for us in a pinch and we did ask permission. - imperial
Jul 2016 - $27.00
Convenient to Peoria, easy to find and access, this park is largely long term or seasonal residents who have boats in the marina. Check in was quick and we were led to our site. Interior roads and sites are paved, and although a bit tight due to large trees and fairly close sites, our 40' motor home was easy to park. No WiFi but good Verizon cell/data, no cable but a fair number of OTA channels. Satellite TV may or may not be usable due to the many trees. Far enough from the highway and river to be quiet, but close to shopping, dining, and a casino. A good value in an area without many options. - Meanderman
Jun 2016 - $20.00
Very good place to stay when visiting the area. I enjoyed my stay there.
I used the washer and drier which were convenient. - mrracechaser
Nov 2014 - $13.00
We were pleasantly surprised with this park. It is simple...not much for frills. But, it got the job done. We had full hook-ups and there was someone at the front office everyday. This is a city ran park so there is also the benefit of roaming police. The officer normally on duty was very friendly and made it a point to wave at us whenever he drove by. This park is in no means a destination park, that is to say there isn't much family fun going on, but at least it is clean and organized and my family and I felt very safe there. We were local for business purposes and if we ever need to return to Peoria we will seek this park out! - EasyE RV
Feb 2010 - $20.00
We stayed here in the very depth of winter during a three day snowstorm. This campground is about 15 minutes from Galesburg, IL. We were glad to find this place at this time of year with full hookups! The park manager was very kind and accommodating - even when the water froze and he had to come out and dig it up. The pipe froze underground and he had to dig it up, bit it was fixed in less than half an hour. The road was plowed each day. We were the only campers out here, and the bathroom facilities were closed for the winter so can't speak to that. Not much to do here in the winter, but we enjoyed the quiet and the hills were great for kids sledding. The interior roads seem tight but we easily maneuvered our 35 ft motorhome. The place looks like it's been there awhile. There are some pieces of heavy equipment there by the Office and it won't pass as a resort spot, but nothing really objectionable. There were several large 5th wheels there - looked like folks came and went throughout the year (in good repair). Do not use your GPS directions to find this place - call and get directions! It's easy to find and just a few miles from I-74 but the roads have been changed and renamed in the area and the GPS directions are way off. We would go back. - Joann26
Jul 2016 - $30.00
Quiet and shady, nice over-night stop on a hot day
and with a pool to boot!
The staff was helpful and informative.
Far enough from the freeway that there was no road noise.
While their wifi provider is Tengo, it was the first time we have ever had Tengo when everything worked.
We'd certainly stay here again. - wetterwashington
Jul 2016 - $30.00
Older RV park, but nicely kept. Sites narrow, and neighbors close. each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Good Verizon signal. Park has Tengointernet but it seemed better than average when tested. Sites are tree covered and only a few will be good for roof satellite call in advance to try to reserve one. There are a number of over the air channels. Carry out dishes may work in the first or last rows with some luck. Nice pool. Lots of grass for the dogs. There are walking trails to the rear of the campground but would use OFF for buggies. RR noise and traffic did not bother us. Our site was long enough for our 35' Class A and toad with room to spare. Site are gravel, may board to level due to some depressions left by tires. Good place for an overnight stop. Have stayed here several times in the past and always found the campground hosts nice and friendly. They will also lead you to your site and make it easier for you to get in to some of sites. - wtravlr1
Jun 2016 - $30.00
Off the road a bit, but worth it. Very friendly staff. While the spots are a bit close together, there are abundant trees providing shade. The sites are reasonably level.
Nice pool, good wifi. - Impkitti
