1 Park near Brownstown, Illinois
Aug 2015 - $35.00
This was a hard campground to rate as it has its pluses, and its minuses. It was clean, quiet, the pool was spotless. We never went into the bathrooms or showers. Our first day there, a teenager walked by from up the road. A trailer park is up the road, & was told kids come into the campground ALOT to use the wifi. We saw that alot our week there. The wifi worked on & off depending on how many were in there. The fishing "lake" is pond sized and covered in green. Almost every day, the pool would have people from town come in to swim, & smoking, drinking is allowed. Ourselves, along with another family always left when that happened. The owners said they couldn't say anything as smoking is allowed outside in Illinois. It's a private cmpgrd! They could put up no smoking but I guess they like the $$ they make off non campers. If you have young kids, its a shame they let outsiders smoke. TV reception is null. Branches need to be trimmed over campsites. The arcade, pool table was removed a long time ago. Playground is very outdated but safe. - happy2013camper

The new owners go above and beyond to be helpful. They are very friendly and are updating things everyday! Nice pool and campsites. No problems. Would highly recommend this Campground. Nice pool. No issues with electric. We stayed for a month and are still here! - Terrilee84

This is an easy to get to RV park, just off I-70. It is minutes away from Vandalia.
It has a nice, large, well lit entrance on a level gravel drive. The sites were lightly shaded and were gravel with a nice amount of grass, a picnic table and a fire ring. We found the campground to be very peaceful.
The restroom/shower facility and laundry/storm shelter are dated but very functional. The Wi-Fi was very strong the entire time we stayed.
It boasts a small, good sized pond and nice pool with lots of space to lounge. The grounds are beautifully maintained and a camp store stocked with just the right amount of needs.
It has a nice playground and is very child friendly. There is abundant wildlife - we saw several deer, rabbits, squirrels and birds.
We stayed with them for 3 weeks , and the park owners/hosts were attentive and gracious.
I have to say this has been our most pleasant camping experience yet! - M Barnes
