Nice campground for a overnight stay. Easy check in, and escort to the site. We were in P 109 with a Class A 35'. Good for satellite. Water and electric are to the front. The park has rules but is well kept. There is a dog walk area, nice grass but is not fenced in. Verizon has 3 bars and good for data. Park WiFi was good at our site, but park was not full. Verizon signal had 3 bars. We did not notice any freeway noise at our site. Our site was long enough to take our class A with a toad without unhooking. Site was gravel and level. There is a picnic table at each site. There are a few cable stations, and more over the air stations. The laundry has hours so you may want to check. No problem with navigating to the site, roads wide and flat. Would stay here again. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

We loved this place! Saw it from the freeway as we were driving into town (heading to the Illinois State Fair Campgrounds, as we thought it would be closer). Beautiful place! Long pull-thru, gravel, level sites. Ours had nice shade trees, near the "corn fields" (cool view!), fire pits, nice cable, clean place, wonderful staff. Only added 10 minutes to our travel into town. So worth it!! The only down side was the bugs (not their fault) loved sitting outside in the evening with the cool breezes, but so did the bugs... We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you like Lincoln, you better plan on spending at least a couple of days there! A lot to see and do, the Capitol (Old & New), his museum, his home, etc. Not everything is open every day either, so that makes a difference too. Great stop!

Very clean open park with bathrooms that are sparkling they are so clean. Very close to the freeway so it is noisy and the wifi even with 5 stations is slow. The owner is friendly and very proud of her park. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for two nights as we saw the sights in Springfield and this campground was a good base location. It was easy access on and off the Interstate, which you can hear from the campground. Our site was a little weird in that electrical and water was near the front; the sewer near the back. The campground was clean and well run. We would stay at Double JJ again if we are ever in the area. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice campground in the Springfield area to visit the local attractions. Easy on/off the interstate but noise could be a problem for those sensitive to it. We were escorted to our site and then staff came back a little later to check on us and make sure we had no issues. We were in one of the long pull through sites out in the open. Most of the sites are pull throughs. Sites were fairly close together and gravel. We did not use or look at the laundry or bathrooms since we are self contained. Hook ups were good and the site was long enough to adjust for the sewer hook up. Provided Internet was dependable and Verizon cell service was 5 bars. Pool and putt putt golf but did not see anyone using them. There are some seasonals and long term campers but their sites were clean and neat. Everyone seemed to drive the posted speed limit so dust was not a problem. The trees are nicely trimmed and not a problem as the majority of the campground has many trees. No mats or rugs allowed on the grass. We had a picnic table and fire pit. Fuel is available in nearby Chatham. We would stop here again. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Easy trip into Springfield. If you are driving a big truck/RV and want to visit the Lincoln Museum, drive to the far end of the parking garage and park in the bus parking. Pay fee at the west end of the parking garage. Lots of things to do and see in the area.

We have stayed here several times before as it is a good stop for an overnight. It would be a great place to stay if visiting Springfield. Sites and roads are gravel which is naturally dusty but the sites are relatively wide and long enough for big rigs with tow. Nice and helpful staff. Wifi is OK. Some highway noise but not bad at night. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a good park to stay a night or for a few days. It is near the interstate, but the noise is not bad. The sites are in the shade, level, gravel, and spacious. The staff is friendly and escort you to your site. Make sure that you tell the office when you check in that you have satellite, and they may be able to put you into a site to use it. TGhe campground is near many restaurants. We stayed here in a 39 foot fifth wheel and would stay here again if we are in the area. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Convenient campground to Springfield activities. Campground is well maintained. The check in process was seamless and they really take nice care of the property. The campground is right off of interstate 55 and when the air wasn't running in the coach, you could hear noise from the interstate. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very friendly at check in and the campground looked great at first glance. Heavy noise from the highway. -Too tight for big rigs. We narrowly missed hitting a tree while trying to navigate our way out of spot. The spot was so tight that we had to have several tries to successfully exit the site without hitting the motorhome parked next to us and the travel trailer directly across from us. The electric hook up was to the very front of the site, making it necessary to have an extra power cord, and the sewer hook up was at least 18" above ground, making it necessary to physically assist in the dumping of the tanks. Our friends were directed into a site that was so tight to enter that they struck a protruding tree stump that should have been taken out or burned to the ground immediately after cutting down the tree. It did damage to their unit and the entire skirt had to be replaced. The escort was very rude and flip, and completely to blame for misdirecting them and not warning them properly. No apologies were given and he actually blamed our friends for hitting the stump. The bathroom was 90 degrees, so taking a shower to escape the heat and stress of the day,. was not a good idea at that time. There were five of us in the caravan that night and we all had similar issues with the tightness of the sites, the bizarre hook up situation, and the difficulty exiting those sites. We (all)cancelled for our return trip home and will never stay here again. NOT BIG RIG FRIENDLY. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy check-in, but not extremely friendly. Escort was very nice and very friendly. Decent sized sites with no patios, but picnic table and truck rim fire ring. Freeway close but not obtrusive. No fenced dog walk area which is a definite negative for us. Pool looked nice and clean, mini golf needs work, store not displayed really well to capitalize on the Route 66 opportunity. Did have area with bags and disposal for pets. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We had just picked up our new motorhome and spent the night on our way home. Check in quick and easy. The staff were friendly and helpful. They were able to provide directions to several restaurants, since we hadn't had time to buy any food. We did not use any of the amenities, but we did notice the pool, putt-putt golf, dog runs, and playground. The park appears well maintained and clean. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed for 2 days and found the facilities, campground personnel, and access to Springfield tourist sites very appealing. Our full service campsite was very level with easy access to electric, water, sewage, and 12 cable TV stations. We used the laundry facilities while there and were pleased that it was clean and well maintained. Even though they did not have a dog park, there was plenty of space available for pets with waste disposal and bags available. Would definitely stay there again. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Points of interest include the Abraham Lincoln home, library, museum, tomb and memorial gardens. Also, Springfield is along Old Route 66 where we ate lunch at the famous Cozy Dog diner.

Very nice park in a good location about 20 minutes from the historical sites in Springfield. Level gravel sites in good condition, with grass between sites and picnic table and fire pit. Some of the sites are long enough to park a big rig and two cars in tandem. Lots of large trees provide good shade to all sites except a row of new pull-throughs along one edge of the park. Park is fairly close to highway but road noise was not that bad. If I had one nitpick it's that our site had the sewer at the very back and the power and water in the middle, which is the opposite of what we need. By carefully siting the rig and using our sewer and water hose extensions we were able to connect to the hookups. Some sites have the hookups in different locations, so you may want to ask about this when you make a reservation. Wi-Fi worked well; cable worked well but only has 12 channels. Restroom facilities were in good condition and well-maintained. Laundry is only open from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM, which limits time available for doing laundry if you are out seeing the sights during the day. Amenities include a pool and playground. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Friendly and helpful greeting staff and an escort to the site. Interior sites are pull-through with full hook-ups, cable TV, 30/50 amps. Power and sewer can be a long reach to hook-up. Roads and sites are gravel with grass, picnic tables with fire-rings. Laundry $1.50 wash and $2 dry. Nice store, pool, miniature golf, rec room, storm shelter. Large pet area but not an off-lead run. Propane on site but expensive. Easy access to the interstate, east and west. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
