We stayed here overnight. I have lived in Peoria all my life and never knew this place existed. It is very large, clean and spacious. Very nice grounds-nice level sites. There are some seasonal sites apart from the overnight ones. They are very well kept. Nice dog walk area. Owners were friendly. The only issue we had was the entrance to the campground has a huge bump which really did a number on the RV and the speed bumps are overkill. Otherwise we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Chillicothe RV & Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Most sites are taken by permanent residents which are waterfront on small lakes. Most of the permanent sites are tastefully decorated with patio lights or walkway lights and have added pleasing landscaping. The showers were clean and hot, but a bit of a walk as the bathhouse is next to the office at the entrance. At night, walking from the bathhouse, the campground is beautiful, as all the low voltage lighting around the sites makes a pleasant picture and is very inviting. The lakes were clean with sandy beaches. My dogs loved going for a swim. Electric service works well and good water pressure. Sight was gravel and was slightly graded, but not bad. Nice concrete pad with picnic table. We were able to get a site with a large tree, although not many of the non-residents have shade. Overall, a nice place to spend a night or two and town is only minutes away. We camped at Chillicothe RV & Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

This is a "membership" type park with permanent folks there. I believe it's seasonal (closed during winter). There is a single row of available sites for 'transients' like us, that are all pull-thrus. Maximum length though is 40'. Gate closed and locked at night but you get the combination while staying there. No laundry or store, but there's a laundry in town a few miles down the road. There's also fishing and scuba diving available as one of the kids living there told me there's an old plane (or boat) out in the lake for divers to explore. It's a very big area and the permanent folks all use golf carts (nobody seems to walk), but plenty of places to walk around. It's quiet there and the park met our basic requirements (hookups and reasonable rate). We camped at Chillicothe RV & Recreation Area in a Motorhome.
