5 RV Parks near Crete, Illinois
May 2013 - $35.00
While the setting for this campground is excellent, the execution is just shy of horrible! The only reason we stayed at this park was its proximity to family and friends. I would never do so again. Go across the border to Indiana, do not come here! The bathrooms are all but unusable, and my wife has refused to use the shower in the ladies room. I didn't think the previous reviews could be true, but believe them. - Phil_S
Mar 2013 - $42.00
This is a very rustic campground with no paved roads or concrete pads. We were very disappointed in the general conditions present and the mud was so bad from the rain the previous day that we nearly got our dually stuck twice just getting to the site. We opted to leave and stay at another park due to the conditions we found in the winter time. It may be more appealing in the summer months, but we cannot recommend it during any kind of wet weather. - RVGFulltimers
Aug 2010 - $42.00
We are here for the location. It is the closest to Chicago we could find at 39 miles to Navy Pier. The posts below sum it all up. Could be a really nice park, just needs new owners and an overhaul. Nice quiet location. Our site has 2 sewer connections under our awning, and next to us there is a 30 yr old junk trailer with some one living in it. Not a very appealing park. - RIchardBursch
Sep 2016 - $44.00
Hookups are shared so you may need extensions. Our power cord just reached. Safe area to leave trailer when we spent a night in Chicago. Host was gone so we checked in at office but had to find it first because map given to you at the office. - sp123
Aug 2016 - $44.00
Stayed 4 days while visiting family in the area. This is a very quiet park on the grounds of a large Christian conference center on Cedar Lake. Road and sites were gravel. Sites were level. Utilities worked well, but the locations for water and electric were a little strange (shared posts) so we needed our electric and water extensions to reach. Good WiFi - the best we've experienced in our 3 month trip! No cable. Lots of trees on most sites, so you've got shade, but satellite would be difficult on most sites. Restrooms and showers convenient and clean. No laundry. Close walk to lake and small beach. Very quiet at night. Someone else mentioned the railroad tracks and train. We counted 2 per day - one in the morning and one in the evening....that's it. Very friendly staff. A peaceful, restful place. We will definitely return when back in the area. - FireFlyer
Jul 2016 - $24.00
Small campground, Very quiet, but beside a train track with occasional traffic. We used the restrooms that were very clean. Camp host came by to welcome us. Alcohol was prohibited, but our beer on the table was no problem. Playground was simple, but at the office there was a possibility to borrow sports equipment. Lake was beautiful, with a small beach and a shelter. - Bisan
Jul 2013 - $34.00
This is not a campground. This is a transient workplace for people like carnival workers, pipeline workers, welders, carpenters, and workers who are seasonal. The camp host seems nice. Place is very run down. From throwing my trash out before leaving, I saw that they do like their beer. Had I known, I would have stayed elsewhere. - pvcox
Apr 2009 - $19.00
Older park in the middle of nowhere. Under new management. They started to put in a new bathhouse in a park model. All pull through sites. They were also in the process of putting gravel on the sites to get them out of the mud. The land is pretty low and it floods with every rainstorm. - Glen_mich
Jul 2008 - $32.00
Under new management so this review is based on current conditions. Park is clean, good interior roads. Sites are long with sufficient room for big rigs and slides. Few trees so satellite OK. Low water pressure - very dirty water requires filtration!! Rest rooms and laundry very dirty, dated, need replacement - no cooling evident. would only use this park for an overnight, about three miles west of I57, some road noise from busy road adjacent to park. Owners very accommodating and will probably clean this park up given enough time to make required updates. - endlesstravels
Sep 2015 - $29.00
The place is huge. Has pool, lake, tennis, everything. I'm sure it's a happening place in summer but very poorly maintained. Big potholes in the very bad travel roads. Mostly occupied by seasonal and permanent residents that have old decrepit RVs and misc structures. The only WiFi is at the main office. Grass is overgrown and our site was loaded with dog poop. But there is a big field where we threw a ball for the dogs. - User2989
Aug 2015 - $48.00
We stayed here for my son to have a good time at a campground designed for kids. Unfortunately, mini golf closed at 6:30. Which I understand, however, the pool was for 21 and up, and the main station smelled like a bar. - slinke
Jul 2015 - $38.00
Very run down. This mighta been a great place 35 years ago but it's obvious nothing has been reinvested in it. Way to many long-termers with all the junk that they accumulate if allowed to. Way to many old RVs that should be in the junk yard by now. The trailer next to me has a red tag hanging on the door. Streets are badly neglected. Jellystone Inc should pull any affiliation from this place. Surprised they haven't. We are here at the height of vacation season and took what was available. Otherwise we wouldn't have considered it. They charged $16.00 for electric and $16.00 for service for a four night stay on top of the $38. I requested a sat TV friendly site ahead of time and they accommodated me with that. - wazafarmer
Sep 2016 - $32.00
We just stopped here overnight on our way east and I am glad that we only stayed overnight because I wouldn't want to be here for two nights. Very little improvements have been done in this park, just a grass area with hookups and poor gravel roads. Even the office is in poor shape. Grass has grown up about a foot high around a lot of the campers which means that they are there long term, mostly people that work in the area. I definitely wouldn't want to stay here again. - Linda Allan
Jul 2016 - $35.00
This is not a campground. This is a transient facility for tradesmen, i.e. pipeline workers, carnies, etc.
Some people live here year round, by the looks of the sites and campers.
No restrictions on how old your rig is.. bring in your beast.
Rates to me are too high. take it or leave it attitude.
$700 a month for 50 amp with Water and sewer.
Gossipy workers/owners. People come in all hours of the night.
You will get a tongue lashing if you go over the speed limit of 10 MPH.
No campfires. No ice. Very cramped conditions. Many run down sites.
I-80 Road noise 24/7. No buffer for noise control.
I needed this facility as a place to stay while on contractual work in the area.
Otherwise, I would avoid. - josephine Plumber
Apr 2016 - $42.00
This park has very unlevel, very close, sunny/open grass only sites. Very rude people as well as workers living there. Not worth the time or money to put up with drunks throwing things. Very scared! It was better to leave. - Sheilagramm
