This park is in the country, adjacent to the Hennepin Canal. The park is family owned with the owners being very friendly and helpful. Caution: make sure that you follow the blue signs when coming into town on IL-82; there is a very low clearance railroad bridge if you stay on Il-82 through town. A better way is going across IL-92 to IL-82 and the campground will be on the left. This is a prior KOA from years ago, and most of the amenities that the KOA had are here except for the pool; it has been taken out. The sites are shaded, but a few have breaks in the trees for a satellite. Make sure you mention this when checking in so she can put you into a spot if you need satellite. Antenna and Verizon reception are very good. The campground WiFi is very good once you sign into it. The sites are level, gravel, with grass between the sites. When full, the sites could feel cramped. They have canoes and kayaks for rent as you are on the banks of the Hennepin Canal. The fishing is good too. There is a clean laundry room, 2 electric dryers and 2 washers, but the dryers need updating. They don't dry well. Geneseo is close and has anything you would want. We stayed here in a 39 foot fifth wheel and would definitely stay here again. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Hennepin Canal; close to the Quad cities of IL and Iowa; City of Geneseo for restaurants and supplies.

Geneseo Campground has a great rural location; surrounded by corn fields and next to the historic Hennepin Canal. Our gravel WES site was fairly level with a reasonable amount of grassy space between RV sites. They also had 4 rustic cabins and one yurt (all with A/C) for rent. The canal was great for long-distance jogging/walking/biking along, although there can be a few skeeters if not a windy day. CG had kayaks and canoes for rent. There is a dump station, laundry, play ground and a spray ground. The camp store had basic supplies, ice and best of all LP gas (which is getting harder and harder to find at campgrounds).

The owners were extremely friendly and very helpful with questions about Quad cities, Le Claire, Geneseo or other local sites. Tengo supplies their wifi system so you need to register and login but had one of the best internet bandwidths I've come across. GC gives you access for one wireless device free. Good antenna TV reception. Their bathhouse/restrooms were very clean, well ventilated, lots of hot water. The owners even provided washcloths rolled up in a basket for guest's use.

Note: We were heading east on I-80 so took Colona Exit 7, turned left (east) on Hiway 224/Cleveland Rd then followed Cleveland Rd and turned right (south) on Hiway 82 till we came to CG's driveway on the left just before crossing the canal. Seemed an easier route than trying to navigate a motorhome towing a vehicle thru the town streets of Geneseo. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Town of Geneseo is close for supplies

CAUTION - when driving from I-80 - follow the camping signs thru town NOT the Rte 82 signs since there is a low underpass with 10 ft clearance on 82. This place is in a very nice park-like setting with many tall trees. The driveways are gravel, some level some not too level. The grass areas between sites are relatively narrow. The Wi-Fi was acceptable (1 PC free, others a dollar each for 3 days). The park is quite quiet at night. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

This is among the nicest small campgrounds that we have ever visited. We stayed overnight but would have enjoyed staying longer if our schedule had allowed it. It is the only campground where we have had excellent internet service to the point where we were able to watch live streaming Fox News on our laptop. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. It has been raining constantly here, but we hope to walk around before we leave to check out the canal that runs alongside the campground where canoes and kayaks are available for use. We loved it here and hope to stay again. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice park, nice people. Rules are more sensible requests than demands. They provide info on not just to avoid a 10 foot overpass in town but where medical help is, radio stations for weather, and even a sign as you leave that is a check list for what you may have failed to do. Level gravel parking, good utilities, shade, good Wi-Fi,and wash cloths in the restrooms. Again, nice park. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. Owners very friendly and helpful about things to do and places to dine in area. Short trip to home of TV show American Pickers in LeClaire, IA. Owner has a very large interesting pin collection. Will return when in the area again. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice park in the trees. Some sites are satellite friendly. Long pull throughs. You park on dirt so your rig gets dirty when it rains. My wife didn't like the laundry because it was the most expensive that we have used in some time and the dryers were not hot. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice small park. We stayed here one night on our way home. Sites are level and clean, the bathrooms are very clean, and the store is well stocked. We only had one issue. It rained overnight and the next morning the mosquitoes were overwhelming. Spraying for bugs would be helpful. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice, quiet campground with lots of shade trees and next to the Hennepin Canal for kayaking, biking, and hiking. Friendly hosts, very helpful and the city of Geneseo has shopping, dining, and entertainment possibilities. We were visiting friends in Rock Island and this campground was convenient. Don't use GPS coordinates, hosts tell us they are incorrect. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We were caught in an unexpected snowstorm and had to stop around midday. We were so fortunate to find this park, and would have stayed just about anywhere! So we were especially pleased to find such a terrific place. The people were really nice, the sites are large, level and there are beautiful trees everywhere. The bathrooms were spotless and they even had washcloths rolled up in a basket for the guests (we've never seen that). This is on the way to visit our family, so we will keep this on our list of overnight stops. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at this well-manicured, shaded park. A bit off the road, but worth the drive through Geneseo. Make sure you follow the blue campground signs to avoid a 10' underpass. Gravel interior roads and fairly level gravel sites, with extensive tree cover that makes using a satellite difficult. No cable, but good free WiFi. Not very crowded and quiet and dark at night. Verizon cell and data were strong. A pretty little park in the cornfields that offers a quiet night's stay. We'd stay here again. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

A small campground surrounded by a cornfield and a canal. We camped here for a week before and during the Labor Day weekend. There are several seasonal campers, but mostly weekenders. Good laundry and bathrooms. The campground offers Tengo WiFi, but we were unable to connect. However, the Verizon 4G data signal was strong so we could use our own hotspot. Had a concern with the water supply at first: our water was noticeably cloudy and turned our water filter orange. I notified the campground and they flushed their water filters. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

A wonderful park with a staff that really goes out of their way to be helpful. When we called for reservations they wanted to know our direction of travel so as to give excellent directions and how to avoid a 10 foot underpass. At check in, again gave excellent directions as to getting back to the interstate. The park is quite and shady with an excellent walking, biking, running path along the old canal system. Only problem are the unlevel sites that need more gravel. It had rained recently and was still a little muddy. There is no question that I would stay here again if given the opportunity. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
