Make sure you don't use GPS directions; there's a 10 foot bridge that you won't get under! Everyone is very friendly and access back to 80 is very easy. The campground is tight with a number of mature trees. If another camper had not moved their truck we would have never made it. Has a foot path access to the canal that runs beside it. The bathrooms were clean; although there is a musty smell. We stayed one night on the way through. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice clean campground on the Hennepin canal (former KOA). Great bike/walking trail on canal. Canal is full of seaweed and moss so very hard to fish. Has sme full hookups and dump station. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Travel Trailer.

City aquatic center nice for all ages. Donut shop in town is worth the stop for homemade donuts.

We arrived for an overnight stay. Check-in was very easy. They pointed to our spot and sent us on our way. It was VERY hot when we arrived (99 degrees). The power to the whole campground kept going off and they would have to reset it. They went around and asked everyone to use their propane for refrigerators, hot water, and cooking to relieve some of the strain. It didn't help. When the sun went down, the power finally stayed on. It took a long time for the RV to cool down. The grass was high and, trying to sit outside, the bugs kept flying up on you. You are allowed only one connection to the Wi-Fi per site. If you want to connect another device, you have to pay for it. I didn't ask how much. There was a cute water park (small) for the kids. They really enjoyed it. I don't think we will stay here again because it is out of our way and, unless they upgrade the electric, it's not worth it on hot days. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We overnighted at Geneseo Campground in May 2018 in our 39' fifth wheel. It was a nice site to spend a short stay. The pull-through site was somewhat short so we had to disconnect our tow vehicle and park it sideways behind our rig. The only real challenge was due to the electrical connection being in the very front of the site, which caused us to have to use every bit of our power cord to reach it. The Hennepin Canal runs along the campground and there is a nice walking trail along the canal. We saw many people fishing from the banks of the canal. Be sure to call to get directions to the campground. There is a bridge with only a 10' clearance coming through town but the office staff can direct you around this. We would not hesitate to return to this campground if passing through the area. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Arrived 7pm and had reservation. Website said full hookup which is true unless it's below freezing then no water and all hoses put away. So basically $33 for electricity! Owner was nice but neglected to tell me about water situation until after I gave her the $. Would not stay again with these conditions not addressed up front. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Found this park while traveling across country on rt 80. Only stayed for 1 night but would not hesitate to spend more time. Lovely quiet campground along the Hennepin canal. Grounds were immaculate and well-cared for. Not a "resort" with landscaping but plenty of natural mature trees. Had a minor issue with some low-hanging branches when we pulled into our site and the owner immediately came to our site to trim them up. Off the beaten path but this is a gem and would definitely return for a longer stay. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice small park. Outside of town, so nice and quiet. Right next to the Hennepin canal. Nice area to walk, ride bikes and walk dogs. They also rent canoes. Restrooms very clean and they even provide washcloths. Satellite may be a problem and wifi isn't very strong. Owners very friendly and helpful. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

The Cellar in downtown is an old style restaurant. Steaks, seafood, even a cracker basket with cheese dip. Delicious and great service. Cinnamon rolls with dinner are also very good.

Couldn't get in to the KOA we planned, looking for full hook-ups & space for a large motorhome just for the night. Went by the reviews and most were spot on. This campground is a hidden gem. Very clean, quaint with large mature trees, yet room for our large motorhome. The owner told me she only had a site left that would just fit the motorhome, and probably the toad, but not hooked up. She was correct. Plenty of room for motorhome, jeep parked sideways, fit fine. Off the beaten path a bit, but roads are plenty large enough and mostly straight getting here. There was construction nearby and a low clearence bridge in town. Owner gave me perfect direction to and when leaving back to I80. We got in late so didn't get to check it out, but saw they have a small area set up inside for playing games etc, and a quaint little store with some unique items. The only reason I didn't give a 10 rating was no store on site for food. Although the town nearby has everything you might need. Not much as in way of amenities, but peaceful and beautiful. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed one night. The reason we were even in the area was because of the 100 mile run to raise funds for the Hennipen Canal. There is a walking/biking trail all along the Canal which we enjoyed. They delivered a fire ring and wood to our campsite. The firewood was $6. The two children with us enjoyed riding the rented go cart type pedal bikes and the playground. Our site was very easy to drive into being a pull through and it was level. It looked like there were a few long-term residents. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Owners very friendly. Was extremely hot in August when I hooked up and electric kept cutting off. Advised office and before I could walk back to RV, there was already someone there to help me. Neighbors let me borrow a 50Amp extension cord to hookup to a vacant spot so I could run my AC for my dogs while the maintenance person fixed my electric box. Site was a bit muddy with ruts and they came and filled in with gravel the day I arrived. The WiFi is iffy. I did not use any facilities at the park. The trail that runs next to the canal is right next to the RV park and is excellent for walking, jogging or riding a bike. It goes on for miles. I will definitely return. A nice park located in a beautiful area, the drive to the campground is stunning. We where just staying one night so left the toad on, the sewer was at the back and took two hoses to reach. The turns in to our site where very tight and it was difficult to get into. Check in was easy and they where friendly. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Motorhome.

The campground location is right on the Hennefin Canal bike path. We rode 24 miles and could have kept going. They rent bikes as well as kayaks and canoes so you can get plenty of exercise. A very well stocked store that includes the owner's collection of pins. Fun to just look at the thousands of pins in his collection. Clean facilities, level sites, and friendly staff. Overall Rating:

This park is in the country, adjacent to the Hennepin Canal. The park is family owned with the owners being very friendly and helpful. Caution: make sure that you follow the blue signs when coming into town on IL-82; there is a very low clearance railroad bridge if you stay on Il-82 through town. A better way is going across IL-92 to IL-82 and the campground will be on the left. This is a prior KOA from years ago, and most of the amenities that the KOA had are here except for the pool; it has been taken out. The sites are shaded, but a few have breaks in the trees for a satellite. Make sure you mention this when checking in so she can put you into a spot if you need satellite. Antenna and Verizon reception are very good. The campground WiFi is very good once you sign into it. The sites are level, gravel, with grass between the sites. When full, the sites could feel cramped. They have canoes and kayaks for rent as you are on the banks of the Hennepin Canal. The fishing is good too. There is a clean laundry room, 2 electric dryers and 2 washers, but the dryers need updating. They don't dry well. Geneseo is close and has anything you would want. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Geneseo Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
