They do not take credit cards. We were just staying one night so that wasn't a problem. Looks like a lot of permanents. Very small playground. Big field next to it was perfect for the dog. No TV channels. Had to put our dish on the roof to get a line of sight. Enough room that we didn't have to unhook the tow. The electric and water were near the road and sewer was halfway down the site. Quiet and clean. We would use it as a stopover again. We camped at Hilltop Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

The park was clean, easy to enter and leave. We had a pull-through with 50 amp, full hook-up. We would definitely stay here again while traveling through Illinois. We did not notice road noise, even though we were right off I-57. We camped at Hilltop Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Going North, saw the large CAMPING sign on the barn, glad it was there. It is really handy right off the exit ramp but on a hill above I-57 so road noise was not much of a issue. had about 10 pull throughs. Only problem was the electrical post, to near the road, had to leave the car half way out in it. I will stay there again when going on I-57. We camped at Hilltop Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Excellent campground for the money. Grounds clean. Lot of shade. Facilities not luxurious but good. Would stay again. More bang for the buck than we have had in a long time! Quiet and clean. Small dogs welcome. Big field for them to play. We camped at Hilltop Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Not a bad park for the night. Good power and water. Lots of trees. Not many spots to park because they are full of permanents, but were quiet. Some road noise but OK. Easy on and off from the highway. I would stay again if in the area. We camped at Hilltop Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

We used this campground as an overnight stop. Was easy on and off the highway. Some road noise at night but not too bad. Very reasonable and super nice owners. Full hook up. Level pull through sites. Open all year. Will stay again. We camped at Hilltop Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a perfect overnight stop, OR LONGER, place to camp! The rates are reasonable b/c you are not paying for a pool, laundry, etc. However, they have some very nice pull-thru sites and a pavilion, horseshoe pits and most amicable owner. Over the past 15 years we have been here on group camp outs and for overnight stays. It is very well maintained. We camped at Hilltop Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Challenging entry for motorhome pulling a toad. Quiet, even though near the freeway. Level gravel site and decent electricity. OK for one night stop, but not for more. Lots of low hanging tree branches to scrape the top of the rig -- not really happy with that! We camped at Hilltop Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. We've stayed at the Hilltop campground off and on for several years. The owner/manager does an excellent job, and when he's not around for any length of time, he has a host to assist campers. The sites and streets are all gravel, and very level. Most sites have trees for shade, and then there are some 30 amp sites where you can park if you don't like parking under trees. This park is a nice friendly, family park. Many family campers come for various holiday weekends. They have a very good monthly rate with all utilities included. Also, very good location right off of interstate 57. We camped at Hilltop Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

We camped here for a while. We paid a monthly rate while our new house was being constructed. The owners were extremely friendly, the camp site was clean and well maintained, bathrooms where clean and had plenty of hot water for showers, the full hook ups saved us alot of back breaking work, even though it was near the interstate it was very quiet. I would recommend this site to anyone wanting to get away and relax. We camped at Hilltop Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

We have camped here several times over the years, and have enjoyed the sites, and the ability to setup our satellite with a clear view of the sky. However, the absence of WiFi has caused us to seek out another campground. It does not seem that the owner will be doing anything about WiFi anytime soon. We will probably not camp here again. Nice campground next to Interstate 57, exit 40 - but not noisy at all as it's above the level of the highway. Some long term coaches on site. Rural area, nearest store or service station is about 4 miles. Stopped two different times - no issues as it is a good overnight stop with limited recreation facilities We camped at Hilltop Campgrounds in a Motorhome.
