This is only the second time we have stayed at a COE CG but once again we very happy with the site and facilities. This CG has approximately 56 back-in sites of varying sizes. You'll have to see those when booking through their on-line reservation system. All sites were concrete pads that appeared to be pretty level and had a patio area. Ours was rock/gravel and located at the back of our site, housing the picnic bench and a fire pit. The 50 amp electric remained stable during the course of our two day lay-over and we experienced no problems. The power pedestal was located towards the rear of the pad. We took the wheels of the rig to the end of the concrete in order to reach which meant that our back end was well over the patio area. None of the sites are water and/or sewer connected although there are numerous water faucets around where one can fill the tanks. There is no Wi-Fi but we did find numerous OTA TV channels. The CG is split in to two loops, one being closer to the river and offering some sites with uninterrupted views. This side appears to fill up quickly, hence the reason we took a site on the second loop. The roads are asphalt and allow access for big rigs (we have a 40' 5er). Although adjacent to the railroad, during our stay we never had any trains pass by. The only trains we knew about were actually on the IA side of the river but didn't cause us any disturbance. You are close to the IL84 but traffic is pretty light and the Cicadas drown the traffic noise. The washrooms are a little dated but clean. However the showers did look grubby and we did not use them. A Ranger patrols the park for added security. There is a two-lane dump station at the exit. We enjoyed our stay here and would happily stop over again. We camped at Fisherman's Corner COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

From I80 west, take exit one just before crossing the Mississippi in to IA. Drive west along IL84 for about 3kms and the CG is on the right just after a wooden pedestrian footbridge running parallel to the road. Whitey's Ice Cream is a must and available at several locations. Visit Isabel Blooms stores for gifts. Cheapest diesel appears to be in East Line at the Conoco gas station. Lost of McD's for free Wi-Fi.

Very nice COE Park. Great price. Concrete long pad for our 40' MH. Back- in but room for Toad. Site 28. I pulled into another long site, camp hosts were off duty then . The site post showed no reservation for that night. I call government phone number listed. I was told the site was reserved for that night so move to another site. I paid the camp host later and told them about the site change. They said that first site was not reserved for that night . The on site management seems to have a better idea about the campground than the government reservation phone system. We stayed one night. We would return. Camp hosts were nice. 50 amp service. We did not have need for other amenities Close to Interstate Hwy. but quiet. We camped at Fisherman's Corner COE in a Motorhome.

Found an open space large enough for us: very nice. Lots are spacious and offer some shade. Site surface was a concrete pad, featuring a fire ring and picnic table. Friendly staff and very helpful.

Ranger came by and told us rain is expected: not leave our carpet and items out. Might flash flood and it will all wash away. We are safe but our items may wash away. We camped at Fisherman's Corner COE in a Motorhome.

Spent one night here. Very nice COE park right on the Mississippi River. Price reflects Senior Pass Discount. Sure was cement, level but close to the road. Site was not long enough for us to park our Jeep on but there was extra parking spaces right across from our site. Electric hookup only.

Park rangers made passes through frequently and were available for questions when the park kiosk was closed. Some sites have a view of the river. Lots of mature trees. We camped at Fisherman's Corner COE in a Motorhome.

This is a very popular Corps of Engineers park (COE) in Hampton, IL. The sites are a nice size, and many are right on the Mississippi river. The site had 50 amp electrical to the site, and water faucets were dispersed throughout the park. A dual dump station is at the entrance and is included with your space rent. The roads as well as the sites are paved, and each site includes a gravel patio and a picnic bench. All of this and the spaces rent for $20 a night. There is no included WiFi at this location, but the restrooms are in good shape. Of course with all the good parts there has to be a down side, right? Well we figured it out pretty quick the first night at dusk. We got a quick lesson on the local nuisance, the May Fly. May fly's are little brown flying bugs that are basically harmless. Except for the fact that they breed in the fresh water of the river, and live to mate, hatch, swarm, and die. They are only during certain times of the year, but in early June they were everywhere. There is a train that goes by the park once a day in the afternoon, but it blows it's horn constantly! Fortunately it doesn't seem to run at night. Great value for the money though. I would stay here again. We camped at Fisherman's Corner COE in a Motorhome.

What a great spot along the Mississippi River! Our site has an awesome view of the river. Easy internet reservation. Some of the lots will be difficult to back into with a big rig due to trees or poles, but our lot was great and 80 ft long. No water or sewer but 50 amps and view & grassy lots make up for it. Level concrete pad. We had satellite service but some lots will not. Price reflects National Parks Senior Pass. We camped at Fisherman's Corner COE in a Motorhome.

After passing the kiosk, sites 1 thru 25 are on the left and sites 26 - 56 are on the right side. The left side loop appears more crowed and there is a canopy of trees that encompass many of the sites. There is a play area and a bathhouse with one shower per gender also within the left side loop. Most people like this loop because you can see the Mississippi river. The right side loop has fewer trees, more in the open and no view of the river.
There is a vault toilet within both loops. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Water spigots are also scattered around both loops. There are two dump stations with fresh water just before the kiosk.
All sites have 50/30/15 amp electrical service and the electrical voltage was good - hovering around 122 volts. The interior roads are on asphalt and the sites are on concrete. The sites are fairly level but the length of the sites vary. Some are long enough for a large rig (without a tow) while others barely fit a small class C. All sites are back-ins.
There is an active train that runs sporadically throughout the day and night. These trains run slowly so the noise is not too bad. Road noise quiets down in the evening. Verizon air card and cell phone reception was good.
Overall, this is a nice campground. We have a 32 5th wheel. We camped at Fisherman's Corner COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our first stay at an Army Corp of Engineers' campground and we were delighted! The campground host, Vicky, and her husband were super friendly and helpful.

The grounds are so nice and there really isn't a bad spot. Many, including ours (#5), had a lovely view of the Mississippi river. The campground is situated on the river with easy access to a beautiful bike trail, which we used.

The site had a level cement pad. There is electric at the site and some have a nearby water spigot. There's a nice dump station on the way out. We didn't use the bathrooms or showers, but I did look in the building and it appeared well maintained. We got great phone reception. We camped at Fisherman's Corner COE in a Motorhome.

Great place to stay right on the Mississippi. Beware of the mayflies. At certain times of the year they can make your campsite a mess. This is a great location close to the Quad Cities but very quiet.

The restrooms and showers are clean and the campground itself has always been neat and mowed. There are two loops to the campground. One has views of the Mississippi River and the other loop is surrounded bu trees. Either one has lots of shade trees.

We have camped there 8 times and continue to go back. We camped at Fisherman's Corner COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Only about a mile from the interstate and sandwiched between the river and a fairly busy road but hard to beat for the price. Only a few miles from the quaint town of Le Clair. Nice interior roads and concrete pads. Lots of trees and shade but many of the trees had tags on them saying they were infected so may not be shady for long :(. No water and sewer at the sites. Rate reflects access pass. We camped at Fisherman's Corner COE in a Motorhome.

As mentioned, no water or sewer at sites. Some sites are close to water facets and can be reached using hose but they discourage leaving hose hooked up. Electric was very good even with all campers using A/C. No insect issues even though on Mississippi river. The south sites have nice view of river and have tables and fire pits. We would stay here again even though there is a city park a few miles further south. Train and traffic noise was not noticeable. As usual COE hosts were helpful and courteous. We would stay here again. We camped at Fisherman's Corner COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful campground right on the Mississippi River. The price reflects the half price senior discount for a site close to the river. I used the nearby Great River Bike Trail often during the week we spent here. We had to make use of their storm shelter in the bath house during our stay. The park hosts went to each site to tell the occupants a severe storm was coming; that was great service. The electrical hookup was spot on voltage but be aware that there aren't water hookups in the sites and certainly no sewage hookups. There is a real good dump station available and water faucets are spotted around the park to fill your tank. We would certainly stay in this park again. We camped at Fisherman's Corner COE in a Motorhome.
