Manager and her staff welcomed me as if I were family, loved the campground. Only downfall was sites do not have sewer. They do, however, have a truck that comes around once a week to for a very reasonable $10.00. And they do have a dump station in the front of the resort, very friendly atmosphere. - Gary-h
Jul 2015 - $30.00
The park now is owned by the City of Colona and is renamed Colona Scott Family Park. Staff is very friendly. There are lots of sites, and many are occupied by the season. Daily rate of$30.00 seems high as there is only a central dump and no cable TV. Honey wagon service is $10.00. Coin laundry is good. Quite crowded holiday weekends. Convenient to Quad Cities. After heavy rain, small lakes are formed on sites and roads. A few sites are narrow for slideouts. - Bill Strong
Jul 2013 - $10.00
This is a club membership campground. It has organized activities and a great swimming pool. Sites are on grass and are both pull through and back in. It is off the interstate a couple of miles, so it is quiet. We would stay here again. - A hitch and hop

A great campground right on the river, with a lot of things to do. Great fishing, has boat slips (docks?) if you have a boat (I do not), and you can rent boats or paddle boats. Right next to the Eco Tourism center, which has lots of neat things going on.
Avoid when raining, as the entire campground turns into a big mud puddle. Also can be very buggy. - David Johnson
May 2009 - $15.00
We had a pretty decent stay. My only complaint was the cold water in the shower. Taking a shower on a 45* morning and only having lukewarm water was not pleasant. - User781
Sep 2007 - $15.00
This is a county park. It is on a backwater of the Mississippi River. It is a marina in addition to being a campground. The marina business was very busy during our stay. We stayed in site #65 right on the water. Due to the slow-moving water, there were lots of mosquitoes, so staying outside was a challenge. We wanted to stay in a place right on the Mississippi and we couldn't tell about this place looking at the map. Sites are electric only. There are lots of trees so maneuvering a big rig would be problematic. Bargain price. The showers are a long hike from many of the campsites so we didn't try them. There are pit toilets scattered around and we didn't try them either. In the future, we'd plan a little better and choose another campground. It seemed like mostly locals were staying there. - NancyB

Mar 2018 - $46.00
We stayed here for one night in a pull-through FHU site. The sites are gravel and can rut so aren't necessarily level. We had to level up one side of the RV. Where we were able to park with our RV + towed car, we couldn't reach the sewer connection so in the morning we had to go around and pull closer before dumping out. We reserved online by the KOA app and arrived after hours to find that the posted rate the the campground was lower, however in the morning they said they couldn't adjust the rate since we reserved online. What? Why don't they use their "real" rates online with KOA? The dog walking area is right along the major roadway and isn't fenced (if there's a fenced area back in the trees somewhere, I didn't find it). It appears to have a nice pool and playground for when the weather is warmer. Call for reservation to make sure the online rate isn't above their on-site rate. - MNroadie
Nov 2017 - $30.00
Very large resort type KOA. Lots of summer family activities but pretty quiet in Nov. seasonal and year round residents in section away from short term guests. Ponds for fishing and lots of places to sit and enjoy the view. - Hartleyfam
Aug 2017 - $50.00
We only stayed here for one night in a pull-through site. The roads are a little narrow, but they escort you to your site, so it's not a problem. We had no one on either side of us, so it seemed more spacious than it probably really is. Nice tall trees provide a nice look and some shade. All of our utilities worked well. We would come here again for a quick stop. - dbcordello

Oct 2015 - $7.00
A seasonal site only now for one year $1300. Gated community, weekend activities, family oriented, good fishing, lots of fun, 2 lakes, 3 ponds, paved roads and very friendly atmosphere. Will definitely stay another year. - Pat51
Jun 2013 - $15.00
Once you get into the campground, everything was fine. However, getting there is not convenient off the highway and you have travel over gravel dirt roads to get there. Directions are very confusing. Thank goodness there were some signs to follow. Our coach and toad were covered in dust by the time we got parked. No pull-thrus for overnights, so you do have to disconnect. We would not come back, but not because of the campground itself but the wear and tear on the coach getting in and out on the access roads. - Labrador Fan
Jun 2013 - $30.00
Noisy (until 10 pm), smoky, and muddy. Lakes are nice, but most camp sites are seasonal. Not well suited for short stays. - ANelson

Apr 2017 - $17.00
April 12, 13- Wednesday, Thursday We stayed at Illiniwek Forest Preserve situated right on the Mississippi River in Hampton, Illinois. This park is near Rock Island, IL. Camping is from April 1 - Oct 31. The office is not open until 4pm to 10 pm in early April and we were told to set up, pick a site and check in at the office when it is open. There 60 campsites with water and electric, two older shower houses that you need a key for, a dump station, playground, boat launch, hiking and biking trails, a picnic shelter which can be rented. If one wants to dry camp or tent there are 25 sites and 17 are right on the river. All the sites have a view of the river and if you want to fish you can catch your dinner (license needed). The campground is close to the John Deere sites and Rock Island. This campground is first come and we would return to camp here. The bike trail runs through the campground and it is a good one biking along the Mississippi River. They did give us a senior rate for $17 a night. Great stay. - gsnakehill
Sep 2016 - $16.00
A pleasant surprise on the Mississippi River...gravel sites are a little narrow and all back-in but there is plenty of open space so it didn't feel cramped. The check-in process is interesting...go find an open site & then come back to the office after 4:00PM & fill out the papers. We will stay here next trip. - BillGr
Aug 2016 - $17.00
The staff is pretty good here and they keep the garbage picked up, main issues are the campers are so close to each other it's a little cramped. When someone is sitting at a picnic table it is literally 3-5' from your camper.
The pet allowance seems to be an issue at this park also as there seems to be no enforcement of dog barking here at any hour. There is actually a camper with a dog pen here that has a German Shepard in that barks quite often. Kind of ridiculous. - Camp one

Arrived 7pm and had reservation. Website said full hookup which is true unless it's below freezing then no water and all hoses put away. So basically $33 for electricity! Owner was nice but neglected to tell me about water situation until after I gave her the $. Would not stay again with these conditions not addressed up front. - Susan chaney
Sep 2017 - $33.00
Found this park while traveling across country on rt 80. Only stayed for 1 night but would not hesitate to spend more time. Lovely quiet campground along the Hennepin canal. Grounds were immaculate and well-cared for. Not a "resort" with landscaping but plenty of natural mature trees. Had a minor issue with some low-hanging branches when we pulled into our site and the owner immediately came to our site to trim them up. Off the beaten path but this is a gem and would definitely return for a longer stay. - 2retiresoon
Jul 2017 - $28.00
Very nice small park. Outside of town, so nice and quiet. Right next to the Hennepin canal. Nice area to walk, ride bikes and walk dogs. They also rent canoes. Restrooms very clean and they even provide washcloths. Satellite may be a problem and wifi isn't very strong. Owners very friendly and helpful. - fulltimerjan

Jul 2017 - $20.00
This is only the second time we have stayed at a COE CG but once again we very happy with the site and facilities. This CG has approximately 56 back-in sites of varying sizes. You'll have to see those when booking through their on-line reservation system. All sites were concrete pads that appeared to be pretty level and had a patio area. Ours was rock/gravel and located at the back of our site, housing the picnic bench and a fire pit. The 50 amp electric remained stable during the course of our two day lay-over and we experienced no problems. The power pedestal was located towards the rear of the pad. We took the wheels of the rig to the end of the concrete in order to reach which meant that our back end was well over the patio area. None of the sites are water and/or sewer connected although there are numerous water faucets around where one can fill the tanks. There is no Wi-Fi but we did find numerous OTA TV channels. The CG is split in to two loops, one being closer to the river and offering some sites with uninterrupted views. This side appears to fill up quickly, hence the reason we took a site on the second loop. The roads are asphalt and allow access for big rigs (we have a 40' 5er). Although adjacent to the railroad, during our stay we never had any trains pass by. The only trains we knew about were actually on the IA side of the river but didn't cause us any disturbance. You are close to the IL84 but traffic is pretty light and the Cicadas drown the traffic noise. The washrooms are a little dated but clean. However the showers did look grubby and we did not use them. A Ranger patrols the park for added security. There is a two-lane dump station at the exit. We enjoyed our stay here and would happily stop over again. - Hutch333id
Sep 2016 - $10.00
Very nice COE Park. Great price. Concrete long pad for our 40' MH. Back- in but room for Toad. Site 28. I pulled into another long site, camp hosts were off duty then . The site post showed no reservation for that night. I call government phone number listed. I was told the site was reserved for that night so move to another site. I paid the camp host later and told them about the site change. They said that first site was not reserved for that night . The on site management seems to have a better idea about the campground than the government reservation phone system. We stayed one night. We would return. Camp hosts were nice. 50 amp service. We did not have need for other amenities Close to Interstate Hwy. but quiet. - JAWS
Aug 2016 - $10.00
Found an open space large enough for us: very nice. Lots are spacious and offer some shade. Site surface was a concrete pad, featuring a fire ring and picnic table. Friendly staff and very helpful.
Ranger came by and told us rain is expected: not leave our carpet and items out. Might flash flood and it will all wash away. We are safe but our items may wash away. - D'art campizard

Sep 2017 - $50.00
This park is mammoth - seriously hundreds of sites. It is beautiful with well-maintained sites and roads. Key card entrance. It is so big that most people don't walk around they drive golf carts which they can rent here. There are 3 lakes and on one of them you can use paddle boats. They have an exercise gym with limited equipment. It is small but adequate. Downside is that for the whole park we only saw 2 restrooms other than at the community center building where the exercise room is - which was a long ways away. The site we got was spacious - there are a lot of trees so we had to work to get our Direct TV satellite signal but it was fine when we got the right spot. There are a lot of activities for kids and I think there is golf nearby. I think this might be now or once was "co-op" because there are a lot of sites that look like people "own" them and have storage units on them. They also have "park models" for rent. It really is a beautiful park but doubt if we would stay here again unless no other options. For our purpose it was over-priced. - NiMo
Sep 2017 - $60.00
This is a gorgeous campground. We came after summer season, so several things were on week-end only schedule (restaurant, snack bar). Our site is huge, although the shortest in its row. There are all sorts of activities for everyone, including tennis courts, mini golf, jumpy, playground, a really quality dog park. There has been a lot of money spent on this place and it shows. We are sitting in the middle of a beautiful park with a lake, overlooking hundreds of acres of trees. - Calteri
Jul 2017 - $72.00
A bit on the $$$ side but overall a very nice park. We had a site with a cement pad on the end with a concrete table and fire pit. They had a huge pool, a bouncy pad that was overloaded. Everything was kept very well and in good shape. The only negative is it's a big park with a lot of sites so there are lots of people. We camped by a bunch of tents and they were pretty noisy well past quiet hours. Someone was also lighting off fireworks put they put a stop to that I think. If passing through I probably would stay someplace else just because of the cost. - Campingwi

As other reviews have noted, there are potholes at the entrance that should be repaired, but this is a fine stop for passing through. Easy access to the highway, but far enough away to be quiet. Not a resort, but pleasant and well-maintained. There is a pool and playground. The folks are friendly. There is an exceptionally good restaurant nearby (The Machine Shed) where we ate the best dinner of our trip so far. - Paul and Jeannette
