Jun 2017 - $35.00
This is a Park for permanent RV's for vacationers on lake near the Mississippi. water and electric only. No cable or wifi. There were only a few sites for Great River Road travelers. Good for visits to Hannibal, MO. - Alicenpete
Apr 2010 - $25.00
Rate is without sewer ( not available other than pumpout ) and not using Air. ( $3.00 more ) This is a seasonal park with mostly local trailers set up for the summer. Train is very loud and this is not on the river as it looks on the web site. Place needs a lot of work. We would never stay here again. - imperial
May 2009 - $15.00
Rate is based on a monthly rate. This is a nice family park with mostly seasonal sites. The sites are level gravel sites. Management is very friendly. The drawback is the train tracks that pass near the park. There are no sewer hookups, but the owner provides a tank emptying service. - John P
Jul 2018 - $34.00
Just an overnight stop. Nice and quiet. Site a bit unlevel, but self levelers helped with that. Had some good bbq in Hannibal. Asked for a spot good for satellite reception and had a nice open back in with 50 amps. - Uthagan
Jun 2018 - $35.00
Ask for shade, lot of mature trees. Lot of dog walking areas. No dog park. Trolley pickup and tour access greatly appreciated, we do not have a towed vehicle. Lot of history in Hannibal. - User2241
Jun 2018 - $34.00
Great park. Interior roads a mix of paved and gravel with no problems. Tons of trees and there wasn't a single one that was a low hanger. Tons of grass for the dog. I had excellent luck with the wifi. Staff was very nice. Older park, but it was clean and quiet. Would totally take a back in space over a pull through. Back in spaces were larger and appeared level. Satellite might be a tough. I was in space D5 pull through which was close and sloped causing a big step into the coach. Trolly picks you up at the park and takes you in town. - RodeoClown
Sep 2017 - $27.00
very quiet and clean. host lives on site. he was very helpful. the pool was not open but looked nice. nice playground. spacious, concrete, level sites. No cable but can get a good bit with an antenna. wifi was better outside the camper. - MamaBird
Sep 2017 - $30.00
Very clean, concrete pads and patios at site, very level. Owner very friendly and helpful. Lots of big open spaces for kids to run or walking dogs. Quiet... heard a train far away a couple of times but didn't bother me. Huge park across the street. Seasonal (or full-time) campers sites were clean and organized, not an eyesore like a lot of places. Definitely staying here again. Wifi extremely slow but owner acknowledged this at registration. - DogFriendlyGuy
Jun 2017 - $30.00
This out of the way campground is well used and busy. The sites are easy to get in and out of but they are close to each other. All back-ins. Some permanent residents. No noise. Lots of lights. Trash and office not convenient to campers - you have to hike up a good steep hill. Staff friendly and helpful as were our neighbors. Was told that the wifi was weak and at our site would be non existent. He was right. Not a convenient overnighter for travelers but is a good campground for activities in the area. It's an old campground and the site we had was broken concrete strips that we were supposed to stay on. - rkay20
Jun 2016 - $34.00
In a nutshell, stay away. If we could give this place a zero we would do so. The bathrooms are beyond filthy, mold appears to be growing on the shower stall benches, trash everywhere. The ground around our campsite was littered with cigarette butts. The buildings and all infrastructure look like they have had no maintenance in years. The "locals" or weekenders were very unfriendly; in fact scary.
It's very unfortunate as the place looks like it may have been decent at one point many years ago. We found the place in an older Good Sam book but the campground was no longer affiliated with Good Sam so there was no discount available.
If visiting the Hannibal area for the Mark Twain historical features find another campground for your stay. We booked two nights but left after staying only one night. - RalphB3
Jun 2015 - $31.00
The lady checking us in was helpful, efficient and knowledgeable about the area.
The campground is old and dirty. Sites were not level, muddy and sewer connection broken.
Appears to be mostly full time residence that do not seem to take any pride in their site. Junk laying all around. Will not come back. - Stockmk
Jul 2014 - $35.00
Worst campground ever! First of all, the campground is not marked, coming from Hannibal. We drove right past it. When we arrived, there is a window/ac unit boarded up with plywood. Not even new plywood, that looks like an accident or breakage recently happened, rotted on the bottom plywood. We arrived at 3pm the afternoon on a FRIDAY , and had to call a phone number listed on the door for help. When we finally arrived at our site and set up, the were so many dogs barking it sounded like we were at the humane society. We have a 32 foot 5th wheel, and had to park the truck on the gravel street, as there wasn't enough room to actually park at the site. We could not find the restaurant/lounge that was listed on the website. The was ice and firewood only at the "general store". The camper across from us, was a permanent site and the camper was finished off with plywood. Batting cages actually worked, but was really old. The kids tried to go to the store several times to get quarters, there wasn't anyone there. Pool is very small , kids didn't stay in it long, they said it smelled funny. My husband used the restroom once, said it smelled like urine and there was nothing in there to wash his hands with. We couldn't get out of there fast enough! - Hilgirl
May 2018 - $20.00
We were looking for a new place between our usual ones in IL and MO and came across this park. Now that we've been here, it is well off the beaten path just like it looks on the map. For that reason, we will not return. It did have some nice features - many long fairly level back-in lots with lots of room to spread out, 30 amp that worked fine, and lots of peace and quiet. There were many nice tent sites as well. Fishermen may enjoy this park. We were the only folks in our area on a week night. The park employee we spoke to said they fill up only on the Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends. The second campground is more populated. Try there first unless you want to be totally alone as we were. - exceltraveler
Apr 2015 - $18.00
This is a fine example of Illinois state parks. Clean, well spaced sites. If you want seclusion, this is the place. The nearest restaurants are 20+ miles away. Hunters, fishermen, and foragers will find a huge area for their interests. There is a separate equestrian campground within the park as well. - Thorfinn
Jun 2012 - $20.00
Beautiful park. Lots of shade trees, etc. Very well kept. Enjoyed our stay for a few days before going on to Missouri. We are just traveling along slowly and where we take the notion to go next. We are headed for Mark Twain country in Hannibal, Missouri next. Very friendly people stay here. Quite a few of them said they come here regularly because it is so pleasant, clean and rates are reasonable. That is all true. Highly recommend anyone stay here. Children would enjoy it, too. Ours did! - skiparnd2
Feb 2018 - $21.00
We stayed here in February. No water, but all we needed was electricity. We stay one night. We pulled in after dark so it was hard to see where the pull-throughs were at. The on-line map wasn't clear as to which campsites were pull-through versus back-in. The smaller campground of 8 sites has no pull-throughs. We ended up in site #53 (I think) in the Boulder Campground. It was a long pull-thru near the shower building. The roads in Boulder Campground were a bit tight to navigate with our motorhome..watch tow!!! We would stay again when coming thru this way. There is no state park fee which was nice! - Gma Linda
May 2017 - $10.00
Pleasant park, conveniently located if you're visiting NE Missouri and Hannibal. Plenty of open spaces when we visited in May. There are two campground loops. Sites 100-108 are in an oval loop on a small peninsula. Trees around the outside and open grass in the middle. The other loop is much larger -- a relatively open area with enough trees for shade. Gravel pads and asphalt roads with gravel pads, which were slightly uneven and slightly unlevel. Bathrooms and bathrooms were old and worn, but clean. Simple cement floors and basic shower heads. - OlderGoat
Sep 2016 - $26.00
Stayed at the Wakonda lake CG which is a wide ovoid loop by a lake with a paved road and gravel site but with a large concrete pad. Electric, water and sewer. Small bathhouse that I didn't go in. Few large trees. Sites well separated. Nearby sand/gravel operation with minimal noise. The park formally was a large government sand and gravel quarry that was repurposed as a park and is well wooded with multiple lakes, boat put ins, kayaks, playground. The other larger Boulder Lake CG we drove through and is well treed, but the sites were small and short and mostly very unlevel; certainly not motorhome friendly. The CGs just cover a small area of the Wakonda State Park which is very wooded with marsh, sand prairies and trails. Good job Missouri. - 210jem
Jul 2015 - $25.00
This is a small lot of 8 spaces located about a city block from the casino. They are full hook ups. The spaces are concrete, most are broken up a bit, but they are quite level. It is on the bypass highway, across from some railroad tracks. However, there is a nice view of the Mississippi river, you can watch barges moving up and down. Water pressure was good, electric steady. This park is great for a night or two to play at the casino, not a destination in itself however. If you join their players club and play before you park, you can get comp'd, however we decided to just pay the $25. The electric and water boxes at the sites are kept locked, you must leave a $20 deposit for the key which is returned when you turn in the key. The customer service at this casino was excellent! Staff was friendly on all levels. The restaurant had good food, served well and is priced easy on the wallet. Play was generous enough and they have a lot of newer machines to chose from. We would stay here again when visiting the casino. - Fixn2gocamp
