This park has a lot of potential, but it needs better care. We stayed here for two days to explore the nearby Lincoln sites. The men's bathrooms were filthy. We felt sorry for the tent campers. They had to use them. We did not get a sewer connection, so we had to use the showers. The showers were clean, but the ventilation had much to be desired. People living in the park should also clean up their sites. Some had trash bags outside for two days. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful, and the park is convenient to shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. The roads could also use some TLC. - On road less traveled
Aug 2015 - $25.00
Grass, very unlevel, couldn't even get slides out on fronts. - Never Lost
May 2015 - $25.00
The man who checked us in was very friendly. The campground was grassy and treed with gravel parking spots that were not very level. The sites were close together and most of the other RVs were very old and in bad shape. The campground was bordered with a run-down mobile home park which was not separated by a fence. A train track runs close to the park and a train can be heard several times per day. The roads were full of potholes. But it was an okay park for the price considering we had sewer at our site in addition to water and electricity. - mountainfan

Nice campground, good value, best part is the hosts. They were amazing. It was so nice to be welcomed after driving all day. Best hosts we have ever had. Close to Lincoln sites. Highly recommend. - Rose1987
Aug 2017 - $20.00
Great value! It is a typical, modern fairground campground: a parking lot with level sites, good water, electricity, no shade. We called the office telephone number twice on Sunday, left messages but no callback. On Monday, we did what other reviewers advised: we went in thru Gate 11 (open 24 hours a day) and called the security telephone number (posted near the gate). He advised us to go to the Handicapped lot, pick any site and he came up to unlock the electric box. We stayed two nights so we were there when the office opened on Wednesday morning and paid before we left. We will definitely stay there again! - Mom_of_Two

We were on a hill and had to use our ramps to level the trailer. We were near to older restroom and shower building. They were in need of cleaning . We started using the new shower and restroom building. It was much cleaner. The location was good for us. Would stay here again. - Dale D

An adequate park for those wanting to explore Lincoln land, mostly given over to seasonal pipeline workers. The guy next to us had his car hood up and his gas tank removed all day. The park needs an overall cleanup/raking. Bath house was old and dark, but clean and functional. CATV excellent. - ebdavis

Jun 2017 - $48.00
This KOA is 3 miles east of I-55 but feels much further due to all the turns it takes to get here. We liked that because it felt very remote while being convenient to all the Lincoln historic sites. Nice pool, mini golf, bounce pad, banana bikes and play ground make it a nice family park. Lots of shade and adequately sized sites. They were pouring concrete patios to create some new "deluxe" sites and were planning on bringing in patio swings for these sites as well. - jjones5996
Oct 2016 - $49.00
We stayed a weekend in October and it was very nice. Plenty of signs telling you where to go, even after we missed a turn (navigators fault) we were able to find our way again very easily. Not a huge campground, but still nice. A simple park but good enough for the kids to play around on. My kids LOVED the bikes and since the campground wasn't crowded they could ride the bikes everywhere safely. Restrooms were always clean. - RebaDee
Oct 2016 - $35.00
We stayed one night passing through the area. The park was several miles off of I-55 but the quietness of the campground was well worth it. This is an older campground, gravel sites, all of our utilities worked well. Our site had no shade trees, but that didn't matter for our one night stay. The directional signage from the south I-55 entrance was excellent, it would have been hard to find this campground without those. It is all paved roads to the campground, trees are kept trimmed back well to prevent hitting your camper. The one lane bridge was no problem to navigate. The owner was very helpful and friendly. - Arlen

Would have been $15 if we had been from Illinois! Electric only, but water and dump available. Beautiful park area. - Merikay MacKenna
Aug 2016 - $20.00
Very clean showers although dated. Very level sites with good electric. Some in our group had difficulty with the 30 amp. Needed to use 50 with a 30 adapter.
Quiet and restful. Nice shelter for meetings/meals. Decent dump station.
New Salem Village was very interesting although there was only one busy volunteer who gave a good background on the village. Paved drives that made a nice thing for walkers. - Oldbug76
Sep 2015 - $20.00
The park is dated, could definitely use some updates - but then Illinois is broke so doubt they are putting $$ into their parks. We had issues with the 30 amp electrical. Illinois doesn't refund at state parks, so we were without power for two nights. The host was very helpful on day 3 and suggested plugging into a 50 amp with a 30 amp adapter - that worked! Something with the 30 amp ground. (Wonder if this is common at this park as two other RVs had the same problem.) - Med

Mar 2018 - $40.00
Excellent stay, very clean, very quiet, nice park with lots of trees and big pet area. Well maintained, picnic table, level sites. Not many other rv parks were open in winter with full hookups and this place exceeded all my expectations, recommend! - DaCrazyCatLady
Mar 2018 - $45.00
We stayed here only one night. It is overpriced in my opinion, especially since it is off season, cold and raining. It had been raining for days and some sites were flooded since the park is on very flat ground. It is a clean park and all hookups worked well. The roads are easy to navigate and big rig friendly. It's best to go off the directions given on their website. If you plug the address into your GPS, you may have trouble getting there. It can be a bit confusing. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. - Honalee
Oct 2017 - $40.00
Beautiful little park. Easy on and off the big road and superb staff. We stayed for five nights to tour all things Lincoln. Easy to navigate through the park. I just followed the golf cart! Our site overlooked a huge farm field and was perfect. Great walking around the park for our dogs. Satellite hooked up and good Verizon signal. VERY convenient to Springfield and the tourist sites. - SHIPM8

Jul 2017 - $20.00
The Hickory campground was a great place to stay, very clean and well kept, and a beautiful setting right on the lake. The sites were level (all back-in), spacious and most were shaded from the afternoon sun. The staff was very friendly and helpful .... we mistakenly arrived at the another campground, and they led us over to Hickory. BTW, the other has no lake view, no flush plumbing, and no showers, so be careful which one you stay at. - Snowbirds34
Jul 2014 - $20.00
Park was clean, nicely kept with paved interior roads super for biking. Sangchris Lake holds numerous fishing tournaments and is usually full, as the sites are excellent for boating / fishing enthusiasts. Typical Illinois park, the sites having no water, sewer or Wi-Fi; however Verizon cell reception was adequate. - Moundstation
May 2014 - $20.00
We stayed here two nights and could have stayed longer. We will come back here again. We had a nice spot on the lake. There were no bugs and it was a quiet camp. The camp host was very nice and friendly. The site was pretty level and there was plenty of room between sites. The sites were back-in. We were at the Hickory Campground and it is the one that has lake-front sites and the showers. Great place to fish. If you have a boat there is a boat ramp nearby. - Pamela & Gerald

Apr 2017 - $35.00
This is a small campground in the middle of corn country. We needed a spot with full hookups for one nite and this met our needs. Right on the side of the road but traffic was minimal. Good Verizon service. Good TV reception over the antenna. Owner very friendly. - smitty12
Aug 2016 - $32.00
Good place for an overnight stop. Sites are close together and we were in an afternoon shaded back-in spot. Were able to stay hooked up to tow vehicle. - h and e
Jun 2014 - $34.00
Rate reflects a 15% Good Sam discount. This is a very small RV park nestled in the corn fields. It is located on a side road with little traffic, so noise is not a real problem, even though you are parked close to the road. There are only a few sites that can take a big rig. We had one of the back-in sites in the dead-end part of the park, and could only maneuver in as the sites across from us were empty, otherwise, there was not enough swing room to back in. The owner is very friendly and helpful. AT&T and Verizon signals were good. The water is nice and soft and has good pressure. Over the air TV reception pulls in the networks out of Springfield and that is about it. The only reason we would probably not stay here again is that it was difficult to take the dog for long walks, as the only place to walk was along the roadway, otherwise it was a nice place to stay. - Greyt-Parent

City is actually Jeisey, not Kincaid. Lots of space and large lots designed as a place for mobiles, their RV rentals are mostly long term. Nice lady owns the park. Free washer and dryer but no WiFi or cable TV. There are spaces with phone hook-ups. Near Springfield and Taylorville for doing genealogy stuff. - PDDeen

We paid monthly, had winter hook ups. New Trailer park. Nice area close to Taylorville. Office has washer and dryer. Friendly people. We stayed several months. Being new they needed to work on lawns. - twinapril
