This is a small, very pretty campground with a creek running through the lower end. Pull through site was adequate for our camper. Staff was friendly and helpful, and escorted us to our site. Restrooms and laundry are updated and very nice. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Shopping(Wal-mart, Target, Home Depot) about 5 miles away. Starved Rock state park is a must visit. The small towns in this area are very pretty, with older homes and unique downton areas. The 101 Supper Club in La Salle is a great place to eat dinner.

Older but nice KOA. It is a small KOA. Full hookup sites at the front of the park are closer together. W&E sites are larger and in the quiet, back part of the park. Roads are a bit narrow for larger RV's but very doable. FHU's good. Sites to the rear are double stacked, but they can sell them as pull throughs if the park is not full. Park has many trees, so no real satellite friendly sites. We were in 54/63 and used portable satellite. (Sites 54/63 can be used as pull through) Good Verizon and T-Mobile signals. Park has basic cable. Park wifi is usable but throttled for movies. Dump station as noted in earlier reviews is on wrong side, but park has additional hose. Nice pool at the park, also fenced in dog park. Plenty of grass in tent areas to walk the dog as well. Camp hosts very friendly and had escort to site. Our site was 30 amp. only but worked ok since it was cool out. May have to watch the creek rise during periods of very heavy rain, if you are in the rear sites. Camp is well groomed and scenic. Would stay here again. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Motorhome.

This is obviously an older campground that has good and bad points. First thing you are struck by is the position of dump station, which is basically on wrong side for departing campers. However, the staff is well prepared for that, providing their own long sewer hose to pass under RV for those departing - since turning around to have it on correct side would be extremely difficult due to narrow, tight turns. Position of station would also cause extreme traffic flow backups if crowded, since using it essentially blocks. Staff is friendly and helpful. Gravel roads and sites that seemed mostly level and had decent spacing from neighbors. Glad we were not in full hook-up sites near entrance, as those are very packed together, and much less scenic than lower area of campground. However, in heavy rains, which we experienced, lower sites get a lot of puddles and standing water, especially around power/water pedestals. Grounds in lower section, with stream running through and many mature trees, were nice. Very nice bathroom/shower facility, laundry, and pool, all clean and well maintained. Great WiFi signal, one of best in trip. Verizon was merely adequate. Cable TV provided. Would stay here again; as a KOA "Journey" CG, very convenient to Interstate. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Starved Rock State Park nearby, with many trail, some amazing canyons and waterfalls, and trail along Illinois River. Place is utterly packed on weekends though, might want to avoid it then.

My previous review 10+ years ago was bit more glowing. The interior sites are quite close together, but were mostly level. Power pedestals and water hook ups were in good shape and didn't look like a DIY project. The full hook sites 16-25 are right on the main road with 8-10 feet from the RVs to the pavement. Other FHU sites were crammed in right next to the office facing all the inbound traffic. I think if you went with an outside "ring" water & electric sites (35 thru 51), you'd have a pleasant view and a bit more space. For the tenters, there are a ton of spots without hook ups in the rear of the campground. Shower house was clean and modern. Office and neat and tidy, staff friendly. One odd thing was the dump station location. I happened to need to empty the holding tanks on my way in and found the station right next to the office on the driver's side, which is exactly where you'd need it on your way INTO the park. The only way to use it on the way out would be to leave the park, turn around somewhere (just two lane roads around here), and come back into the park. Or, do some heroic backing all through the campground to get there in the correct orientation. Wifi was the usual useless campground wifi. Verizon Wireless had 4G and a very strong signal. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Motorhome.

This is the prettiest KOA we have ever used. The setting is beautiful and the staff is friendly. There is a Kamp K9 for pets that is centrally located. Our site was large and had a fire ring and picnic table. We only needed water and electric. Full hookups seemed more crowded. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very friendly owners. Had been pouring rain all day. Put us in a full hookup site due to weather and the creek rising. Only charged for water and sewer. Guided to our site even in the rain. We will stay here againg when coming through. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed two nights in the back lower section of the park. We choose a site back there even though there is no sewer hookup because it is so pretty. There is a meandering creek, babbling brook that runs the width of the park and it is very appealing. During our stay there were only two other campers so it was very quiet. There were a few other campers in the front section that had sewer connections. We enjoyed morning walks in the rural farmland setting, cows and all. The dog park was well built and adequate for our labs. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We would return. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Motorhome.

Easy check-in and we were escorted to our FHU pull thru site. Park is older and small but well kept. Very clean bathrooms. Friendly hosts and workers. We stayed Fri and Sat nights but were really only there in the evening after supper because our main goals were hiking at the state parks and eating out. Park had a mix of weekend locals and overnight travelers. Sites were very tight in most areas. Park was quiet after 10pm and most campers were very friendly and respectful. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great park for a nite while traveling on I-80 or I-65. May be muddy and have soft ground if the area received rain. Pull thru with water and electric on larger sites with plenty of room. Full hook up may be tight and smaller. Cable TV and WiFi worked with no issues. We will stay here again. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Directions are good. Get off I-80 at Exit 81. There is a Loves truck stop there so you can fill up, then come out and go north 1.5 miles and take a left. Park is on the left. Access is tight. Only about a dozen pull thru sites and some of those are only good for smaller rigs. Most of the sites are for pull in or back in. Really only 2 good pull thru sites for larger rigs. Lots of beautiful tent sites. Beautiful grounds. Good size off leash dog park. Friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed the weekend with a plan to enjoy nearby Starved Rock State Park. This campground is small and has TONS of site options for tenters; not as many RV/trailer sites but those sites are nice. RV sites are close together, but typical of a KOA. Staff was very friendly. Park is quiet with lots of trees and birds (if you're a bird person you won't be disappointed). Sites are very level with lots of older-growth tree coverage which is perfect in the warm weather. We visited 1 week before the pool was open but it looked pretty much ready to go. Not a TON for our kids to do, but the purpose for our trip was to spend time in the state park which is what we did and when back at camp our boys found other kids to play basketball with so all was well. The dog park area is a good size, but no shade and my pup was too hot in there during the late afternoon. Bathrooms looked newly remodeled and were very clean. No garbage pick-up from your site here, but conveniently-located cans throughout the campground and a large dumpster up front. We hooked up the cable but didn't watch TV; the weather was beautiful and we spent all of our campground time outside. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Close to Starved Rock State Park, but none of the late-night noise and copious campfire smoke that abounds in most state parks. We hiked Illinois Canyon and avoided the majority of the crowds that hike near the Visitor Center.

Not a destination campground;however, ok for one night. The lower level pull-throughs are spacious but have only water and sewer. There is a dump station on the way out that is on the wrong side, but a long hose is available. We faced a pretty creek, and the trees gave shade. The upper level full hook up sites appeared close together. The playground was old, but good for getting the wiggles out. The bathrooms were clean and modern. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Motorhome.

Owners/staff very accommodating. Large, spread out park, nice little creek runs through for fishing or ambiance. Large dog run, kid friendly. Nice pool. Lots of tents and cabins. Utilities were well positioned. No wi-fi at sites, only available in office. Not satellite friendly, just about entire park under trees. Cable available but with small selection of stations. About 2 miles from interstate in middle of cornfields. We were there on a Friday overnight, and park was completely filled with locals camping for weekend. Water/Elec pull thru site 57 got satellite reception (dish on top front of Motorhome). Otherwise, a shady spot right across from the creek. I did ask for a satellite friendly site. Very clean restrooms/showers, looks to be recently upgraded - nice showerhead. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Motorhome.

Convenient to Interstate, but located far enough away that there is no traffic noise. Pretty spot good for an overnight stay. Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on site 7, which is level & gravel with a small grass plot & some shade. Room for truck. Sites are close. Full hook up site. Adequate over the air TV. Bath house was clean. Did not check out laundry house. Did not use pool, but it looked well cared for. Play equipment for small children & a basketball court. Staff is friendly. It had rained a lot for extended periods before we arrived & some sites in a hollow-like area had standing puddles. Rate reflects tax. We camped at LaSalle / Peru KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
