Only stayed one night but it was a very nice campground. We arrived late and had some trouble figuring out which sites were open as a number were taken but had no tag hanging on the pole. The host was very helpful and was able to give me a list of sites we could use that would fit our pop up. Site was very convenient to bath house, which had multiple private separate showers. The mosquitoes were pretty bad when we arrived, a screened enclosure would be a good thing to pack. We camped at Dunewood Campground (NPS Campground) in a Tent Trailer.

Half price with federal Senior Pass. You must pay with a credit card at a machine near the entrance. I don't believe that cash is an option. First come - first served, no reservations. There are two loops. I stayed in the Mather loop. Shady sites. No hookups. The camp ground did not fill on a week night in mid-September. Weekends might tell a different story. Water is available at a few pumps scattered around the campground. Clean flush toilets. Unusual for the Nat'l Park Service, the campground had showers. Unfortunately, my shower never had hot water. Plenty of privacy with dense under story beneath the trees. Some road noise from a nearby highway but not bad. I would stay here again. We camped at Dunewood Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The campground is several miles from the actual Lake Michigan shore, so you will need a car or bike to get there. On a clear day you can see the tall buildings of downtown Chicago (50 miles away?).

NPS campground with hot showers. A real bonus for dry camping. Sites perfect for our 27 ft mh. Level, not sure big rigs would fit. Great shade on a hot day. 1.5 miles to Lake Michigan, good bike ride. We camped at Dunewood Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Okay if you want dry camping this is your campground. No hook-ups. There are only a few sites that can accomodate a large rig. 40' would be about the longest you could do. We have a 38' with a tow. Our site was nice and well spaced out. Bugs were bad. We stayed over the weekend and everal families brought barking dogs. Camp security was there and did kick some people out for noise, drinking, etc. Our stay was good and we enjoyed trying out our solar and being self-contained for awhile. We camped at Dunewood Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

TalTree Train Gardens are awesome! The restuarant called The Industrial Revolution is great too. Plus of course the Dunes.

This is a Indiana Dunes National Park campground, just east of Dunes State Park. Not on the beach, but all of them are only a short drive. Large, private, shady sites, 53 drive-in, all paved with some pull-throughs. 25 tent sites. Picnic tables and fire rings. Dry camping at its best. Restrooms, hot showers, camp sinks with hot water. Dump station and fresh water available. Open late April to late October. Our third time here. Only drawback is moderate train/traffic noise. We love it! Located on US Highway 12 and Broadway in Beverly Shores, IN. We camped at Dunewood Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.
