Oct 2016 - $40.00
Great campground. Site was packed gravel, very large and level. Vegetation between sites made it very private. Utility hookups were in great condition. The sewer hookup was in very back corner and I did not have enough sewer hose to reach, but no big deal as we were only there 2 nights. Loved the 3+ mile paved bike trail. Very helpful and friendly staff at the check-in station. This is a fairly new state park built mostly in an open prairie, so much different scenery than many of the Indiana State Parks we have camped in. This is a top notch state park and campground. Please note when making reservation that the full hook-up sites are much more private than the electric only sites. Will return next fall. - Daryn
Sep 2016 - $38.00
Lots of large, level sites to choose from. My dog and I stop here for the trails. There are many miles of trails both grass and paved. All are well marked and maintained. Plenty to explore along the way too. - ljr
Aug 2016 - $38.00
Good state park continually improving. Building fishing pond from gravel pits adding to pool, bike paths, shelters, working pioneer farm. Private pull-through exceptionally well laid out.
110 outlet circuit breaker was bad and after calling them was replaced within 30 minutes, great customer service.
They are anal about parking on the grass but large as the camp sites are there is no need to.
I was concerned about the playground area bike path being hidden by trees as riders approach the road, a blind spot exists and suggested it get mowed back last year to no avail.
A reluctance to trim out sucker type plants from the evergreens and shade trees is troubling.
Blacktop or concrete patios would be nice. The gravel sucks. - budwang
Jan 2016 - $30.00
Very small sites, area is dirty, older couple was extremely rude. This is also a high theft area so watch your possessions. - Full timers traveling for work
Oct 2015 - $30.00
Older campground. Sites are tight for a larger rig (we are over 60' with toad) so call ahead to make sure they can accommodate you. We stayed one night on way south so can't comment on area. Backs onto the Wabash river. Lots of trees. Owner friendly and helpful. Nice CG for smaller rigs. - K&J
Oct 2015 - $30.00
I stayed here in site twelve. The owners are friendly and fun to be around. The weekend events are fun and entertaining for all ages. The campground is filled with trees so there is plenty of shade. There are plenty of walking trails and a swimming pool from Memorial to Labor day. We have stayed here several weekends during the regular season. We intend to come back again and again. - karab2779
Jul 2014 - $1.00
Please note this resort/campground has ceased operations and is no longer in business. As of July, 2014, the property is for sale. - User3596
Sep 2013 - $1.00
Camped here under Resort of Distinction (ROD) membership. Internet is good - cost is $2 for 24 hrs. Sites could use rock on sites and main roads - caused a lot of dust. We were there in Sept and it was off season. Personnel were friendly. Would camp here again. - partlot
Jun 2012 - $8.00
Spent 1 night while traveling under WHR. Asked for FHU 50amp in open area for rooftop TV dish, worked well. Sprint cell & hotspot worked good. Did not see the rest of the park, worked OK for a night. - big greg
Jul 2016 - $31.00
Security is good during the week, but as for weekends it's not good. Water smells like sewage and is brown colored . - Teener
Jun 2016 - $31.00
There was a time, many years ago, when this was a great campground. That is no longer the case, as it is now run down and in poor shape.
Sites are very close together and just unmowed grass, with picnic tables that are falling to pieces. On the plus side, they were at least level. Electric was good but water was terrible, with so much rust in it that it clogged my filter immediately. The showers smelled of the rust as well, I just turned it back off and decided to wait until my next stop.
Many, many well established seasonals in this campground. Some keep nice sites, others not so much. Roads were worn down, as was the mini golf course, and parts to a ride were scattered about the tennis courts, which had not seen use in a very long time. The water play area looked nice, the camp store was well stocked and staff was very friendly.
Campground is only worth a single night if visiting the amusement park. - Cyclonic
May 2016 - $49.00
Check-in staff seemed put out to check anyone in even though only two of in office at the time. Wi-Fi almost non existent after paying extra for it. Lots of seasonal campers, which is fine as we were put by one and they were great. Kids run rampant at all hours of the night. There is no enforced speed limit. What swimming area that once was there is run down and nonfunctional. Fortunately there were 2 sewer hook ups there as the first one we opened had ants and maggots dwelling in it. Mini golf course is non functional. We won't be back. It is a shame as this could be a great facility if management would do some upgrades. I guess they figure why bother if people keep coming. Sad really. - like to camp
Jun 2014 - $46.00
Tiny lots and poor directions inside the park. Staff was not friendly at all. The park is more geared toward the amusement park across the street and not toward a good camping experience. Highest nightly rate in the area. Will not be back. - RB Camper
Aug 2013 - $46.00
We went here just to go to Indiana Beach; nice campground but think that given time could be improved on. The whole resort area was bought by Morgan RV Resorts and as usual things seem to go downhill. We did get a good deal on camping as they offered buy 2 nights get one free and also buy one park admission get one free to campers so that was a plus. Not much shade in the front section but looks like new trees were planted so in years will be better. Grounds well kept, could use more sewer sites. Pool was a good size and very clean. Would return if in the area and improvements made in the amusement park. - DBLR
Jul 2013 - $25.00
We camped here on Passport America rate. On arrival we were informed that the park had a water contamination problem (since June) therefore we did not connect to the water. The smell was terrible and the pool was brown so we could not swim. We booked a FHU pull-though site. The site was gravel, not even, and the hook-ups are placed in such a location that we had to unhook anyway! The sites are close and the Wi-Fi was terrible. The staff were not very friendly. Would not recommend nor stay here again. - OzFrosty
Jul 2016 - $28.00
Didn't have our reservation when we got here. Website says they have pull thru sites and they don't. One shower house for the whole campground ground and it's disgusting. Very unorganized people. They don't answer the phone or emails. Don't give you a map or a copy of any rules. You only get a receipt. - Teener
Jun 2014 - $40.00
This is a very large campground, with many activities for everyone in it of all ages. Weekends have a lot of activities for kids. We enjoyed most of our time there, but a very few like to stay up all night on the weekends (literally until 5 AM), so it was time for us to move on as there weren't many sites for a larger camper plus room to park a vehicle on, to move into. The owner is there on different occasions throughout the summer, and is a wonderful person. The manager has been there for about a year, and many aren't impressed with him. I guess he started out good, but now he doesn't take care of problems in there, and doesn't want to deal with some problems going on. It isn't kept clean some of the times. (garbage left in the wooded area for a few days after campers have left, laundry room really dirty) and the area near the office always has wrappers and cigarette butts all over the place--including on the tables. The office is never ever open when its supposed to be. The only time is Fridays, Saturdays, and sometimes Sunday mornings. The hours on the door mean nothing. It was like that the WHOLE time we were there. It's not good for business, and hard to rely on when you can go to the office as you never know when its open. There is a number to call, but not answered much, or calls returned. Overall, its a nice place, has an awesome swimming pool, and great seasonal people in there that invite even the weekend campers to join in on activities. This place has its good and bad points. - happy2013camper
Jun 2014 - $35.00
Campground could still use some improvements; however, the manager is new and working on making this a very nice place to stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Weekend activities for both kids and adults. They had a party (potluck) and the whole park got involved. Bands or DJ's scheduled for Saturday nights all season. Stocked fishing pond that they are adding new sites on and I'm considering getting one of them for the season. Had a great time and can't wait to go back - RB Camper
Jul 2016 - $24.00
This campground is nearly all long term campers. When you first come in it looks pretty bad but while we were here (2 nights) I realized its pretty full of campers with a lot of stuff all over but it was clean. I didn't see dog poop nor trash. Its very run down, the sites are very unlevel and it needs a lot of yard work done. It was a good price for full hook ups and in a good location. - Terry and Bob Simmons
Apr 2016 - $25.00
Didn't read the previous comments. Should have, this is not an RV park nor Campground, just a place people park their rig's...some in horrible shape, to live in. The place looks like a junk yard. The only good thing I can say about our two night stay was that we were close to where we needed to be, and had a place to park our travel trailer. - Wynn67
Jun 2015 - $25.00
I liked nothing about this place. Worst campground I have ever been to. Paid for a month, left after three days, and they said no to a refund. The game room was used as a catch all for the maintenance person. Bathrooms in poor condition. The kids just stayed in the camper. - Tony143
Apr 2017 - $46.00
It was off season and no one in office. Registration by honor system. Many campers that were working in the area and spaces were few. None of the facilities were open. Site had fire ring but no table. Only two pull thru sites available. Gravel roads in park were in bad shape. - Sunchaser v
Nov 2016 - $42.00
Road noise is unbearable. Cannot have a conversation without yelling or waiting for trucks to finish using Jake brakes. Very overpriced. Site was unlevel, no shade and large puddles of water that never dried up in the week we stayed. WiFi is nonexistent and no cable. I will not return. - Rascal123
Oct 2016 - $42.00
Been going here for 13 years....sometimes 1 to 4 times a year...many reviews are true...yes noise of freeway is bad but it's close to us about 45 miles from home....there are some good things about the park...such as the lake and things to do for kids...but the flip side of this is the costs...everything cost here...it is worse then those greedy amusement parks....camping has doubled here since we have been going in 2004..used be be affordable...now it's higher then most motels...the owner charges for everything...surprise there isn't a coin operated machine on the toilets...one person wrote surprise she doesn't charge for the air you breath....those bands for kids are high for using their slides and things...the owner also rules with iron fist....she has a huge attitude and won't reason with no one....don't ever get on her bad side trust me on this...we never had a problem but seen and heard many....camping used to be fun affordable and a chance to get away from the rat race...this place is not it anymore....she is trying to turn it to a second rate amusement park for kids while trying to drain the parents of money while camping there....camping is too high here and not to mention everything else....it used to be nice here but owner got greedy....there are speed bumps and silly gates here ...it's like a prison yard...she claims people coming in....which now I think is like 10.00 per guest.....look I know it's a choice to go here but have to be honest from what I have seen and experience! - kdogkamper
Jun 2016 - $21.00
This place is soooo pretty! We were the only ones there on a Tuesday night. All the sites are back in, but they are spacious. All gravel except one for handicapped which is paved and has a paved sidewalk to the bathroom. They had water and 50 amp service, but no sewer. That was fine with us for one night, but hard to stay for any length of time. They do have a dump station though. For 21$ it was perfect for a place to lay over for the night. - GranNan06
Aug 2012 - $15.00
Excellent experience. Exceptionally clean restrooms and showers. We were the only campers present. 15 spaces available. Electric hookup, potable water available and dump station. Quiet, and 11 miles from West Lafayette. - grapeidea
Jul 2012 - $16.00
Very nice little county park. We were the only occupants in the park. Very clean restrooms and it was patrolled by deputy during the evening. Very quiet and would highly recommend this park for overnight or multiple days. It is outside of the city a ways so stock up on food and fuel before heading to the park. Good base camp for activities in the area. Would definitely stay here again. - bostonblackie
Sep 2010 - $22.00
Very nice host - working from his home he was happy to show us to our site when we pulled in to camp at about 8 PM. This is an older camp, with a newer owner who is working to spruce up the campground with his wife and son. This is not resort camping. We enjoyed the mature trees and the campground was very quiet, as most of the campers are permanent with residents not staying in their trailers. I think only one other RV was stopping in for the night. The area has been hard-hit by the economy, so visitors are appreciated. - AluminumCloud
May 2009 - $22.00
This is a wonderful campground that is now under new management. The atmosphere is very friendly and fun for all. I have been going here for 10 years and it has improved greatly! There are activities for adults and kids at least once a month if not more. Everyone there is very friendly like family. The restrooms are clean and the office is nice for the kids if it starts to rain. They have a TV in the office and several games for the kids to play. I would recommend this site to anyone and have recommended to friends and family and once you come you will continue to come year after year! - Patricia V
Mar 2009 - $20.00
We tent camped here over the Fourth of July week, and will return this year. Every year, we have camped at different campsites around Indiana, and this is the first that I would return to during a holiday. There was a wonderful playground for the smaller kids. Thrasher's Woods held a dance for the teenagers. They also have a wonderful stocked pond for the kids of all ages. Do not worry if you forgot to bring live bait, for Thrasher's woods sells night crawlers! The staff was very helpful, and very respectful. There was a little bit of noise at night, but the staff worked well to limit it to an acceptable murmur. The bathrooms could have used a little more upkeep, and the pool got overcrowded during the hottest parts of the day. Please keep in mind that this was over a long holiday week. I am very much looking forward to camping there this Fourth of July, and during non-holiday weeks this summer. - nicknick_78
