Things are pretty much the same as they were when we were here four years ago and that's not a bad thing. The setting is beautiful and most of the campsites available to those of us who travel are nice while not the best ones. The best spots with wonderful views of the lakes are taken by long timers. Many of these folks have made lots of upgrades to their sites, turning them into showplaces. While our site wasn't one of the really great spots overlooking a lake, it was one of our favorite spots so far this year. This being Independence Day weekend there were lots of people around. However, I think I counted two empty spots (although they may well have been due to no-shows). The campground was in great shape and there were some nice events including a "zoo" with interesting animals and a barbecue with the meat provided by the campground. Our Verizon signal was good and I was able to get 2 of my 3 Dish Network satellites through the trees. We had one low voltage episode in which our Surgeguard cut power to the camper for a few minutes. This is a pretty campground and we'll likely return when future travels bring us to western Indiana. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful park. Very wooded with several lakes on the property. There were a lot of seasonal campers with lots set up like second homes. We stayed the Saturday after 4th of July and were treated to a fireworks display. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects that we are holders of a Thousand Trails Family Courtesy card - so actual cost was $0 (no additional charge for 50 amps at this campground). You never know what site you're going to get at Thousand Trails as your reservation just says that you can get "a" site. This campground is nice because they tell you which sites are available and will let you know where you are likely to fit. There are a number of seasonal sites at this campground, but the seasonal folks keep their sites up very nicely. The seasonal folks who were near our campsite had a garden and offered us fresh vegetables! There are quite a few walking trails that are accessible for bikes or golf carts as well. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Shopping in Paris, Illinois was good and closer than Terre Haute, though the Kroger in Paris was not a very complete store (the Walmart had better produce).

Thousand trails is selling off or annualizing sites. THis park is 95% seasonal. The left overs are available first come first serve. Most are 30 amp undesireable sites. This is a trend for Thousand Trails. The campground is remote but nice. No services r on site people around. No wifi. Verizon service is okay and satellite is tough to get. There is an adjacent business that runs tractor pulls and fireworks on the weekends. We would not select this park again. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Fifth Wheel.

After the prime season, but still a nice time to visit this park. We stayed on "B" loop which the fellow at the office said was the quieter area. We found a 50A site and there was no extra charge for it at this Thousand Trails campground. We are family courtesy card holders, so there was no additional charge for us to use this campground.

The staff was very helpful - calling us on the day we were to arrive to let us know that there were construction and detour signs on the route that we would be taking to get to the campground, but that the road closure occurred after where we would make our turn so no need to worry about taking a detour.

The B loop was VERY quiet if our stay was any indication. We were there on a Wednesday-Friday. For our 43' motorhome, some of the turns were tight so it was a good idea to disconnect before heading to the sites.

The campground was very large with lots of lakes around it. We would definitely return to this campground. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Motorhome.

This is an Encore park, which has stopped giving the Passport America discounts. They did give us a Good Sam discount because we come every year for a week or 2. The roads are gravel, the spots are gravel and mostly level. A couple spots have drainage issues, but they are easy to pick out. This year we noticed the bath houses are not being kept clean. They look clean, but have a bad smell which cleaning with clorox or pine sol would solve. They are also much used and in need of an update. The staff is friendly and helpful. During the week it is quiet, but on the weekends parents let the kids holler and run around until very late at night. The lakes can be used for fishing, not swimming. They have a pool and clubhouse for activities. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park that has large lots. The park staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Very family friendly, speed limit is 5 mph and enforced. Grounds are well kept and clean. There are a number of permanent sites which makes it harder for those who only want to stay a few days or weeks. There is a playground, putt putt golf, and a pool. Wi-Fi is only available close to office, adult club house and the pool. Our cell service with AT&T was nonexistent. We will return. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects TT membership. Good interior roads easy to navigate with our class 8 truck and 39' 5th wheel. Place full of annuals so best sites are taken and not many for transit campers. Would like to see a change in that all over the Thousand Trails system. Nice and quiet so makes for a relaxing stay. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Fifth Wheel.

Most sites occupied by annual/seasonal members. Only 3 sites available for us, but fortunately 1 was a long & level grass/dirt back-in, accessible for our coach with dolly. (Site B-10) Staff and other campers were very friendly and helpful. Invited us to all activities including large end-of-season group dinner. Lots of activities and amenities although many understandably were closed so near to the end of the season. Be careful on directions if coming in from the south (Terre Haute area). Have to take some rural farm roads and you start to wonder if you're lost. Directions in & out from/to the north are much easier. Young man at office was very helpful with directions. Rate reflects Thousand Trails membership. We would return to this park. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Motorhome.

Electric, water, cleanliness were all good. Earlier comments are still valid. However, our VZN phones worked okay here. Had difficulty with Direct TV Sat signal at our site.

Many sites were taken by annual users. Was told that this park was busier this year than it has been in the past.

One innovation was the use of "speed divots" in the roadways to help enforce the 5 mph speed limit. They appear to work. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Motorhome.

This is our 2nd year here. Last year was only 5 days, this year was 10 days. They did a great event over the 4th of July, bounce house, water slide, etc. Very family oriented park. Gravel and dirt roads, mostly level sites. It rained a lot this week and the roads got muddy, but not real bad. The only bad thing Is the entrance road off the main road. Lots of bad pot holes. Lots of geese around the lakes, keep your dog from eating the goose poop. Clean laundry room, nice adult and family club houses. We will go back again. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Motorhome.

Nice destination park, about 20 miles off the interstate. The park is secluded, wooded with lots of tall trees, and well maintained. It has some nice walking/biking trails, though they are not very long. The sites are close together, but fairly private due to the trees. Very weak cell signal until you get out of the trees. There is wifi in the lounge, but it is remote from the sites, so no wifi in the camping area itself. There are several tent camping areas that are completely separate from the RV areas, and very pretty. I did not use the bathrooms, but I heard several local residents talking about a long term plumbing problem that was unresolved because of lack of funds. The sites are dirt, and as I arrived after several days of rain, it was very muddy. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Travel Trailer.

There is a Walmart in the little town of Clinton on the way in, but it does not have a full grocery store. Get groceries in Terra Haute.

Out of the way location, winding roads, large gravel spaces, fairly level, surrounded by grass, No Wi-Fi, no dog park, lots of walking paths, a Thousand Trails park so plenty of long-term residents. Mostly back-ins so if you're towing you need to unhook before driving around to find a spot, very few with 50 amps. Low tree branches at the entrance to the park tore the trim off the side of our motorhome. Probably won't return to this one. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Motorhome.

The RV Park is almost as shown on their website. Internet was very slow, hot spot only. Bathrooms and showers clean. Laundry old but clean and working. Only issue, arrived late with reservation but did not get the gate access code. Our GSM phone had no signal at the office. Got the phone to work on and off at the gate and was able to call a staff for the gate code. Not well organised. So happy that the grandson of a yearly member came to assist us and helped us find a available space to park for 2 nights. Would maybe stay here again. We camped at Thousand Trails - Horseshoe Lakes in a Fifth Wheel.
