The best choice for exploring northern Indiana. Owners are very customer centered and will do what it takes to make your stay enjoyable. The rate shown is based on paying the monthly rate for a 25 day stay. Some sites have trees that can block satellite TV reception. All of the roads are well maintained, either blacktop (main road) or crushed rock. Most campsites are grass, a few are sandy loam, a very few are concrete, but are taken mostly by seasonal customers. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the RV manufacturers and the Amish communities in the area. Excellent comfort food can be had at The Essenhaus (Middlebury ), The Blue Gate (Shipshewana), Amish Acres (Napaneee) and Heinnies Back Barn (Elkhart, steak, seafood, burgers), my wife's favorite for prime rib.

Needed a quick place to stop for the night to get away from the trains at the Mor Ryde factory. Requested a pull through, 50amp spot with entry door facing East, to stay out of the sun.
The young man at the office gave us exactly that.
It was a nice, little unlevel, grassy spot. It was very quiet at the park, since it was Monday night of Labor Day. Very spacious since we didn't have any neighbors, but might have been a little crowded if someone was next to us.
This is a very large park, with cabins, and seasonal renters, but everything appeared clean.
Maneuvering our 35' fifth wheel and long bed dually through the park was easy. Very big rig friendly.
The only negative of this park is the water. Even with a filter, it smelled and tasted like Los Angeles water, and burned my eyes a bit when I washed my face for bed.
We will return if ever in the area again. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to the RV Hall of Fame Museum

Staying in the 300 section is like camping in a field but with water, electric and sewer all of which functioned well. There are very few trees in that area which is great for satellite users. Access roads are mainly gravel / ground asphalt. The interior sites throughout the park are predominantly pull-thru with site pads mainly grass. Most every site has a picnic table. Some have campfire rings. The sites are reasonably level and the grass was in fairly decent shape. Wi-Fi always took a while to connect to and was ok once connected but I reverted to our hotspot after getting logged off in a few hours. Exiting from the 300 section was confusing and we ended up pulling thru the site across from us to find our way to an access road. The recreation areas (basketball, volleyball, tennis courts, putt-putt golf) are looking tired and not really inviting. Overall, the campground was clean and in reasonable shape. We would come back again. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Staffers were not especially friendly. We were placed in a site located in a big field. We were wedged in so tightly, we would not be able to get out of our site if anyone parked in the site behind us, which we pointed out when the next camper was assigned there. After we were settled and beginning to prepare dinner, a staffer knocked in our door and asked that we show our receipt because the office had assigned our site to another customer. We produced our receipt and we had to have a conversation to settle the situation. Disorganized and lacking in hospitality. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for 4 nights in a level, stone, pull-thru site. We had a well-used picnic table and a fire pit. Grassy area around us. They have a small store in the office. Very full and a rally of 100 were coming the day we left. Close to many things to visit and see in the area. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Newmar factory has a very good tour. Not only did you see the whole motorhome from a chassis to a finished motorhome but you are very close to each stage. We walked around the factory and got to see it all. It is a free tour and I would recommend it to all.
The Yoder Mkt has an amazing array of meats, cheeses, jams, jellies and other products.

The sites are spacious grass-covered lots and roads gravel. It's a large park but even though we stayed over July 4 weekend and the park was almost full, the guests were quiet and respectful of each other and the park rules weren't rediculously crazy. Lots of folks came and went but all seemed to go well. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Elkhart is the home of many RV manufacturers, also many Amish people in the area, South Bend and RV/MH Hall of Fame nearby.

The road leading up to the campground is narrow and poorly maintained. The entrance to the park is wide and spacious. Maneuvering in the park is easy, however the roads are very narrow and packed gravel for the most part. The work-campers at the office during my check in were very friendly and helpful (park owners are helpful but less friendly). Even with the discounted rate, this park is very overpriced for what you receive. The sites are too narrow, they are grassy and riddled with muddy tire tracks. When it rained our site was very boggy. I barely had enough room for my main awning and had I opened my windows would have been able to hear my neighbor going to the bathroom. I do not like being on top of my neighbor and prefer a bit of privacy. You definitely will NOT get that here. Quite a few sites looked very lived in. There is a (small) pool but for most of us would have been a trek and a half, same with the laundry room. Washers $1.75 and dryers $1.25. They charge you $2 more a day for cable. The wifi is awful. Barely worked the three days I was there and was only good enough to check emails when it did work. The area is slummy as is most of Elkhart these days. That in itself should justify a bit of a rate reduction. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Laundry room filthy with 3 of six machines broken. WiFi didn't work. When inquiry was made at office an employee said we get lots of complaints about this. This park was apparently purchased by new owners and is not kept up. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Most of the people that stayed here were here for repairs since this is the RV capital of the world. We stayed for three weeks while getting repairs at MorRyde. The site was a level, grass, 50 amp, FHU site. All the services worked well including our Verizon cell/MiFi. The campground WiFi was available but was slow. Both antenna and satellite television reception were good. The laundry was clean and worked well ($1.75 wash/$1.25 dry), but six washers and dryers for 350 sites seems inadequate. When the washers broke, they were repaired immediately. Some road noise, but otherwise a quiet park. This is not a resort type of park, but is satisfactory for visiting the Elkhart area when getting repairs. When the park is full, the sites are very close, but it they not, there is plenty of room between sites. We stayed here is a 39foot fifth-wheel and would stay here again. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Stop by the Elkhart visitor center for a CD that describes the area with an auto tour. It is very nice. Also if you like popcorn, got to Yoder's popcorn store outside of Goshen. Another place you might want to visit if you are near Napponee, In, is John's butcher shop. The beef and pork are grass fed, no hormones, and is butchered on site.

We were charged extra for cable, then assigned a spot w/no cable hookup. Had to get our money back for that. Also right beside a service center that had an outdoor paging system in use all day. That being said, it was clean & fulfilled our needs. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

There are a few sites at this park with paved parking areas and patios, but most are all grass. The only thing delineating the sites are the power poles. Sites are level and most are very long. Many of the sites are among large trees, others are in the open. Interior roads are hard packed gravel. Fairly good spacing between sites. Most sites have fire pit and picnic table. Restrooms/showers and laundry are in the large rec room building in the center of the park; facilities were clean. Cable system has 26 channels (not all sites have cable). Wi Fi was usually very slow. Recreational facilities include pool, volleyball, mini-golf, basketball and tennis courts. With your windows open you will hear a steady hum of road noise from the interstate. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The RV Museum/Hall of Fame is about 20 minutes from the park and well worth a visit.

Rate is for full hookups. This campground is quite nice for an overnight. Easy in, easy out. Office help was okay but not overly friendly. Wi Fi was sporadic so not useful. I don't usually mention wifi in reviews but have noticed improving wifi at some campgrounds. Wifi here needs work. We will probably stay here on our next trip to the Midwest as it is one of the few places with cable. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

I stayed here one night when bringing my fifth wheel to Elkhart for service. The campground is well maintained with wide interior roads that are easy to maneuver. The pull through site I had was grassy and level and utilities were conveniently located. There is one strange feature to the campground, several of the pull through streets dead-end (K, J, and I), you come into the sites on an angle and then have to turn 120 degrees to get out of the site going toward the exit. Also, if you try to turn down Gita Avenue there is a very sharp 90 at the end where it meets B Street that would be very difficult to make with a large unit. As long as you pay close attention to the map when entering and exiting the campground you can easily avoid these issues. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
