The sites are spacious grass-covered lots and roads gravel. It's a large park but even though we stayed over July 4 weekend and the park was almost full, the guests were quiet and respectful of each other and the park rules weren't rediculously crazy. Lots of folks came and went but all seemed to go well. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Elkhart is the home of many RV manufacturers, also many Amish people in the area, South Bend and RV/MH Hall of Fame nearby.

The road leading up to the campground is narrow and poorly maintained. The entrance to the park is wide and spacious. Maneuvering in the park is easy, however the roads are very narrow and packed gravel for the most part. The work-campers at the office during my check in were very friendly and helpful (park owners are helpful but less friendly). Even with the discounted rate, this park is very overpriced for what you receive. The sites are too narrow, they are grassy and riddled with muddy tire tracks. When it rained our site was very boggy. I barely had enough room for my main awning and had I opened my windows would have been able to hear my neighbor going to the bathroom. I do not like being on top of my neighbor and prefer a bit of privacy. You definitely will NOT get that here. Quite a few sites looked very lived in. There is a (small) pool but for most of us would have been a trek and a half, same with the laundry room. Washers $1.75 and dryers $1.25. They charge you $2 more a day for cable. The wifi is awful. Barely worked the three days I was there and was only good enough to check emails when it did work. The area is slummy as is most of Elkhart these days. That in itself should justify a bit of a rate reduction. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Laundry room filthy with 3 of six machines broken. WiFi didn't work. When inquiry was made at office an employee said we get lots of complaints about this. This park was apparently purchased by new owners and is not kept up. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Most of the people that stayed here were here for repairs since this is the RV capital of the world. We stayed for three weeks while getting repairs at MorRyde. The site was a level, grass, 50 amp, FHU site. All the services worked well including our Verizon cell/MiFi. The campground WiFi was available but was slow. Both antenna and satellite television reception were good. The laundry was clean and worked well ($1.75 wash/$1.25 dry), but six washers and dryers for 350 sites seems inadequate. When the washers broke, they were repaired immediately. Some road noise, but otherwise a quiet park. This is not a resort type of park, but is satisfactory for visiting the Elkhart area when getting repairs. When the park is full, the sites are very close, but it they not, there is plenty of room between sites. We stayed here is a 39foot fifth-wheel and would stay here again. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Stop by the Elkhart visitor center for a CD that describes the area with an auto tour. It is very nice. Also if you like popcorn, got to Yoder's popcorn store outside of Goshen. Another place you might want to visit if you are near Napponee, In, is John's butcher shop. The beef and pork are grass fed, no hormones, and is butchered on site.

There are a few sites at this park with paved parking areas and patios, but most are all grass. The only thing delineating the sites are the power poles. Sites are level and most are very long. Many of the sites are among large trees, others are in the open. Interior roads are hard packed gravel. Fairly good spacing between sites. Most sites have fire pit and picnic table. Restrooms/showers and laundry are in the large rec room building in the center of the park; facilities were clean. Cable system has 26 channels (not all sites have cable). Wi Fi was usually very slow. Recreational facilities include pool, volleyball, mini-golf, basketball and tennis courts. With your windows open you will hear a steady hum of road noise from the interstate. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The RV Museum/Hall of Fame is about 20 minutes from the park and well worth a visit.

Rate is for full hookups. This campground is quite nice for an overnight. Easy in, easy out. Office help was okay but not overly friendly. Wi Fi was sporadic so not useful. I don't usually mention wifi in reviews but have noticed improving wifi at some campgrounds. Wifi here needs work. We will probably stay here on our next trip to the Midwest as it is one of the few places with cable. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

I stayed here one night when bringing my fifth wheel to Elkhart for service. The campground is well maintained with wide interior roads that are easy to maneuver. The pull through site I had was grassy and level and utilities were conveniently located. There is one strange feature to the campground, several of the pull through streets dead-end (K, J, and I), you come into the sites on an angle and then have to turn 120 degrees to get out of the site going toward the exit. Also, if you try to turn down Gita Avenue there is a very sharp 90 at the end where it meets B Street that would be very difficult to make with a large unit. As long as you pay close attention to the map when entering and exiting the campground you can easily avoid these issues. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

While they do have a pool, volleyball and put-put, everything is so run down and not taken care of. There was a guy there painting picnic tables, and they sure needed it, along with everything else. Tons of clover, so tons of bees, which made it hard to walk the dogs. Not a lot else to say. We didn't see but one family outside enjoying themselves. I'm guessing most people were just there to sleep. We went to Elkhart to order recliners, and chose to have them shipped to us, so we don't have to make the return back. We would not want to stay here again. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

We did not camp here, but had reservations, so drove over to see the campground. We went into the office, and the stench in there, made both my husband and I gag at the smell. We got a map of the place, and left asap to get fresh air in our lungs. Directly behind the office was the pool & it was closed for cleaning (I think). The water itself looked clean, but the walls and some of the floor in it had algae growing--which also looked like it had been there for quite some time. The mini golf? There isn't one. The office claims they are repairing it. It needs more than repairing. I had read the comments about some of the roads being hard to maneuver through, and we saw for ourselves. Very hard to do if you have a camper attached. The lots are not spaced out that well, and not much privacy, unless you keep the windows closed. Both of us used the restroom there, and it was clean, but super hot as no air flow. The showers are beyond small, and no place to sit anything on benches. Only one hook in each stall. Needless to say, we weren't impressed with the place. We canceled our reservations. Other reviews list where its tight turning. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground is neat and clean in appearance. The wifi is okay, but slow. The cable service is great. The sites are dirt and it is raining. We have mud. There is no picnic table. The staff was friendly. We are in a travel trailer and the full hook up was a blessing. I would stay here again. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The office staff was very nice and accommodating to our request for a specific site. The roadway in is partially paved and then gravel. There are speed bumps that resemble curbs so drive slowly. The sites are long and grassy, long enough to remain hitched if you want. They are fairly close together. There are picnic tables and the water, electric and sewer are conveniently located. Not all sites have cable. The laundry facilities are clean, $1.75 for both wash and dry. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Downtown Elkhart roads are under construction and the detours where not easy in a big rig with a toad. A pre-warning and a suggested route in when we made the reservations would have been appreciated.

The sites are grass and we only put the jacks down for stability. It is next to an RV dealer and the constant intercom paging system was a bit annoying first thing in the morning. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Wide open near highways yet country setting, bordered by corn fields and woods. Nice walk through thick woods (mowed trail) for myself and the golden retriever. Very spacious, mostly pull throughs, good water, electric and sewer. Didn't try the cable as there was plenty of over the air channels. Office person was nice, good selection of trade books and $2.99 used movies. RV parts places nearby (RV Nation 1 mile behind K Mart) Many more in the area. Good Restaurant Simonton Lake Tavern, just north on 19, good food, good prices. Elkhart is a prosperous town again, of course there is a Walmart nearby. Our second stay here, won't be the last. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very dog friendly, pretty good wi fi, ground asphalt for roadways was clean, lots to do nearby, tour an RV factory, see the Amish crafts and taste the rich food. Visit E&S Variety on Hwy 5 just north of 20. Good stuff at good prices. Also the famous Shipshewana Flea Market is also on 5 a mile or so north of 20. Check dates, not always open.

We stayed for one night. Internal roads are gravel. Our site was grass and long enough to fit our 40' motorhome and tow. Very level and open site. Some of the sites were cement pads with mature trees. Wi-Fi was weak, cable was good. Water pressure was also strong. Easy to find from the interstate. There was no off-leash dog park but plenty of places to walk the dogs including a walking trail. The park had some longterm residents but nothing unsightly. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.
