14 Parks near Garrett, Indiana
Jan 2016 - $34.00
This is a no frills RV park but it is convenient to I-69 and good for an overnight stay. We've stayed here twice & both times, it was a "self serve" check-in. Pick a site, fill out the registration form & deposit it with cash or your credit card information in the box. There is no Wifi in the park. The washrooms & showers are clean. We did not use the laundry facilities. Will stay here again for convenience only. - 69636
Dec 2015 - $32.00
This park is less and less each year that we stop.
This year some of the washrooms and showers were "out of order".
You have to check yourself in and leave the envelope......with your credit card number available.
Almost past the point of being convenient. - Tworetired
Aug 2015 - $30.00
Easy access from freeway, very quiet, site accommodated 60' pull-through, stable AC power, good water pressure. We would stay here again. - RagFtw
Apr 2013 - $30.00
The campground was not for large RV's, there are many narrow, windy and dirt roads. The narrow one lane sagging bridge was rather scary to cross. The staff was friendly. - Melissa3225
Aug 2012 - $41.00
Let's start with the positive. It is not an ill maintained campground. The seasonals and permanents maintianed their sites well and are a social lot. OK, now the not so positive. The road in is poor condition; go slow! The bridge over the creek seems to be able to handle a sizeable load, but is narrow, so be careful. The gate is only half opened, so getting a long rig in requires care. And this is before you get to the uneven, rutted campsites, where the power poles are weirdly located. The lake is an old quarry that is not very inviting. The facilities are so far from where they put overnighters that they may as well not exist. Wi-fi and cell signal- ATT or Verizon-- are not out in the boonies where we were located. And why put a guest who reserves for a couple of days on the worst site available? But mostly, the place is an OK stopover if you are visiting the Auburn Museum. Except the price for this campground is ridiculous. - Windjammer
May 2012 - $30.00
Very nice place. Management was friendly. Seasonal campers were very nice. Lots of activities, you won't be bored. 3 nice fishing lakes. Management said they are installing a big waterslide. - MrTonyD
Jun 2014 - $35.00
We stayed at this camp expecting more than what we got. The Wi-Fi does not work unless you are close to the main office. Staff is friendly. The place is good for small travel trailer and fifth wheel. We had difficulties with ours. The bathrooms have a long way to go; because of this we did not use them. We stayed for a week and during weekdays was quiet but the weekend nights were loud. Lots of tree but many with low clearance for big fifth wheel like ours. It has what appears to be a man-made lake which is used by families with kids a lot specially during the weekends. Several stationary travel trailers that are very old. Won't stay again here. - sallon
Jun 2012 - $30.00
We checked into the park on June 29. About 2 hrs. after our arrival a severe thunderstorm hit. It knocked out electricity & water for the next 4 days. The storm also broke off trees & limbs. It was warm & fortunately we had a generator & water in our tank. The lack of water was due to the fact they had their own wells & had to use a pump. Power came back on on Tue. July 3rd. All was well for 2 days & 1 of our AC stopped working. I called the office to have them check the plug at our site as everything worked fine on the generator. The manager of the park came out checked the plug & said there was something wrong, but he wasn't sure what. He would call an electrician to check it out. No one ever showed up. During this time the temperatures were over 100 for 4 days. No one from the park ever checked on people in the park to see if they were alright or if they could be of any help. All the park employees did was to clean up the trees. We had severe storm warnings almost everyday & during one of them they locked the office & would not let anyone in to get out of the bad weather. Kids were in the lake & no one in the park made them get out even though we were were having lightning & thunder. The reason we did not leave before our stay was over is because they had told us absolutely no refunds. We payed the same price even though we didn't have power or water for most of 4 days & even thought our power was not adequate to run our motorhome after the power was restored. The summer residence of the park were very friendly & helped each other as well as the visitors. I would never stay at this park again. - goldie18
Jul 2011 - $35.00
This is an older seasonal campground with a new, all pull through transient section. A scary, narrow, one lane bridge is at the entrance followed by narrow, winding roads. In fairness, however, roads were intimidating but we had no issues with a 35' motorhome and tow. Sites are long, wooded but with a window through the trees for satellite reception. Transient sites are literally in the woods - more like a state park than a commercial campground. No security lighting. Seasonal areas are mostly older units and is obviously party city but noise does not penetrate much to transient area. Power excellent when we stayed in record heat, water pressure barely adequate (consistent 30-35#). This was an OK stop in an area of limited choices. We have been in worse. - joez
Aug 2013 - $19.00
A really lovely place, but not very accessible for a big rig. Once you get in the campground, the sites are large and randomly placed it seemed. Lots of city park-like things to do, but it never seems crowded. WiFi is iffy. We would stay here again. - carderh
Sep 2012 - $21.00
This is a very nice, clean, friendly park on a lake. The sites are in grass, big, roomy, long sites, friendly staff. They could use to trim a few trees near the roads in park. I would camp here again if in area. - 2Germans
Jun 2009 - $30.00
We were made to feel very welcome at this campground. Staff was very friendly and always noticeable. Other campers were welcoming. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Park area for the kids are numerous and up-to-date. Swimming area was clean and well supervised. Would recommend this campground to anyone passing through. - scrapperdmk
Jul 2015 - $28.00
Extraordinarily crowded for July 4th weekend, but the facilities were still kept up nicely. The comfort stations could use updating but were very well kept. Heavy rains recently meant lots of mud but also great kayaking! Site 370 has 2 trees close to the pad that prevent awning deployment but offers lots of shade from said trees. - The Flying Dutchman
Aug 2012 - $18.00
Very nice park. Good kayaking, but water levels were low and there was a lot of moss. Only complaint is that after the weekend, Sunday actually, the restrooms were a total disaster. Inmates came in on Monday and scrubbed everything and worked on landscaping. If you want quiet, drive around the park as it is very large, very nice, and you can get more secluded site than we had, but won't have 50 amp. We were close to playground and a group of four tents and they were very noisy. You could be more selective but the tents moved in after we did. Tenters thought it was daylight until 1:00 a.m. We stayed for four nights and would stay there again. - horseylady
Oct 2011 - $25.00
Very pretty state park with ample, grassy sites. Fairly level sites. Great canoeing and kayaking. We would definitely stay here again, especially in good weather. We stayed here on a caravan and everyone loved this park. - pegasus
Jul 2016 - $35.00
Gravel roads and sites, very level. No patio but a picnic table and fire ring. The staff and management were very nice and helpful. The park in along the side of the Lake. There were a lot of permanent residents with older units. Great place for fishing and boating. Watch the goose poop by the lake. The laundry had only 1 washer and 1 dryer that have seen better days. - esta34950
Jul 2014 - $26.00
Rate is reflective of monthly rate. We will not stay here again. Owners are nice but overwhelmed by what it takes to maintain a campground. Rules are not enforced. Bathrooms were dirty, and when I mean dirty, I mean excrement smeared on walls. Playground was same way. Parents let children run loose and teenagers think it is fun to knock on your camper door at midnight and run away. Wife is very spotty and costs extra. All of this was brought to the owners attention and the response was was shrugged shoulders and the cleaning lady quit. - Luvbugz
Jun 2012 - $32.00
They are changing this campground around. They are in process of building a new store, business center. Nice and friendly people. Sites are close, they are cleaning the park up, installing new sewer system. Seems like lots of changing for the better. I would come back. Yes, there are seasonal campers, but all were nice that we ran into. - MrTonyD
Jul 2009 - $40.00
This campground is under newer ownership and appears to be more suited to the seasonal camper than travelers or local families. The people at the office were not very friendly nor management team well signified. The site we were approved to set up on was apparently the parking spot used by a seasonal camper; thus creating an attitude problem for him (and therefore us) the entire weekend. The bathrooms and showers were not kept clean in a timely manner during this overly growled holiday weekend. Sites are not marked thus allowing campers and cars to be parked everywhere. I'm sure this campground was over their set capacity. The speed limit was not enforced, and with too many golf carts on the road at all hours, this created hazardous conditions for the many children roaming around. Scheduled activities were not well organized, nor conducted on-time. Our overall impressions were, obviously, not good and we would not recommend this campground to anyone passing through. There are many other campgrounds within the area, therefore my buck would definitely have been spent better elsewhere; and probably have been welcomed considering today's economy. - scrapperdmk
Jun 2009 - $30.00
We camped there during the Kids Festival weekend. The location was nice... not too far away from home but far enough to "be away". They had lots of activities for the kids to do but some were a little cheesy. Our site just had electric with some grass but no shade to speak of. Luckily it wasn't a hot weekend. Wasn't exactly a quiet place but not horribly noisy. We'd stay there again in the off season. - Chic
Sep 2006 - $30.00
We stayed here one night and would never go back. The place is old and rundown. There was only one gravel site and it was more dirt than gravel. The rest of the sites were grass. The electric at the sites were 20 with some 30 AMP. - corgi lovers
Jun 2016 - $22.00
Very clean, friendly host check in, shady, mostly poor satellite reception, good OTA TV, paved roads, gravel sites, good fitness opportunities, well worth the price. - Hhtjr
Jun 2016 - $23.00
This campground is right in Fort Wayne along a river, though you don't really see it from where you park. There is a bike trail that goes along the river for miles and miles. The park is forested but you don't have privacy from neighbors. Each spot has plenty of room for slideouts and such, and each has a campfire ring and picnic bench, but that's about it. But you're in Fort Wayne! The hosts are very friendly and the bathrooms are very clean and kept up. The laundry facilities are clean and work well too. The water hookups are centralized so you need to run your hose a distance to get water - nothing unreasonable but the water spout is not right next to your spot. Sewer is not offered, but there is a dump and it's accessible and has non-potable water to clean the tanks. Sites are gravel and then grass between each site. Pads are pretty level. A bit of road noise but actually quite peaceful. Lots of shade. No cable hookups. WiFi works wonderfully most of the time. - US Traveler
Jun 2016 - $22.00
We were in town for engine repairs on our motorhome and killed some time at this park. We didn't stay at the campground but drove thru a couple times to check out the sites and also see the camp host. Sites look level with good spacing between them. Most, if not all, are back ins. Only 50/30 amp electric and water with a dump station on the way out. Campground roads and sites are gravel with grass between sites. Lots of trees overhead so satellite tv might be a problem. No wifi or cable. It's in town so there are plenty of places to eat and see. It's right next to the coliseum. The park surrounds the campground so lots of green space. There's a very nice dog park that you can take your dog to for a fee ($2 per dog). Overall the campground looked well kept and clean. - Flippitti
Jun 2016 - $37.00
Narrow road down the frontage off the interstate. Its a large field with sites spread out. Wifi wasn't usable. This was a one night stop over for us. It was good for what we needed for the night. We didn't take advantage of the facilities, but they appear quite family oriented. Friendly staff and other residents/extended stay campers. - KSU Alum
Aug 2013 - $30.00
There was a very friendly staff There was lots of room at each site, and there were long pull throughs. - darby
Aug 2013 - $35.00
This park is near the interstate with easy access via a mile or so of paved, but narrow, road that parallels the freeway. Considering its proximity to the highway, there is not a lot of noise. The first thing we noticed was all the green space, acres of grass, great place to run the dog. They only have a few pull-through transient sites, but when we were there during midweek, there was only one other coach. The sites are very large with a gravel/grass parking area. They were close to being level. There are a lot of seasonal campers here, but almost all the RVs were in good condition and they didn't detract from the park. The park is old and this was shown in the utilities. The site we were assigned had a circuit breaker box that was just hanging from the end of plastic conduit for lack of a screw to affix it to the backing post. The threads on both water faucets were defective and we had to connect to water in an adjacent site. The ownership of the park changed recently and hopefully these problems will be repaired soon. The park has a lot of potential for one-night stays. There is no Wi-Fi and marginal service with Verizon. - ghatfield
Jun 2016 - $35.00
Big rig friendly with level sites and easy access from interstate. Showers were large with hot water. Laundry and Wifi was okay. No cable but able to use our satellite. Campground had large dog park. Even though there were lots of seasonals there were still good sites for overnight or weekly stays. - Fulltimersrv
May 2016 - $35.00
We stayed for a long weekend with good friends. Have wanted to visit this CG for a while and are very glad we did! The CG was very clean. I was impressed at the number of employees we saw, always busy doing something.
There was a fenced dog park with some ability equipment, my 13yo chocolate lab who used to be an agility dog but just gave me a look when I suggested he give it a try!
The camp store was wonderful! So well stocked, we were very excited about the hand dipped ice cream. There was a lot of rv supplies. They even had Circle-B t-shirts at a very reasonable price.
There are seasonal lots that are very well maintained by the seasonal campers. The seasonal people that we spoke to were very nice. We are definitely considering a seasonal lot.
They also have cabins to rent.
There is a newer building by the beach that could be a little store but it wasn't open yet when we were there. So I'm not sure.
There are 2 beaches which we didn't use because it was too cold.
You aren't allowed to bring in your own wood so just be prepared to be buy theirs, which I thought wasn't a bad price. - KaraShively
Apr 2016 - $38.00
Something has happened to this campground. Office had bags of stuff all over the floor.
We went to our site and phoned back asking about air tv, which is non existent. At the same time, we reported four bags of garbage in our fire pit that we didn't want to get blamed for. Said oh sorry, we will pick it up. Was still there the next morning.
No map of facilities was given.
Only good thing was the Internet was was satisfactory. Very nice picnic tables.
Feels like this place is on a slippery slide in my humble opinion. - Tworetired
