This is a very nice campground. It has all the things you come to expect at a KOA. It has a nice pool, clean bathrooms, and friendly staff. The sites even for a pull through was spacious.

I really only have one complaint about the campground. If you are in the back section of the campground you have a long walk to the shower/bathroom. They have a nice trail and bridge over a stream that runs through the campground but the trail ends right at a campsite. It would be nice if the campground would complete the trail all the way to the bathroom. They would really only have to take out two sites. The only option campers in the back section have is to either walk through campsites or walk a long way around. This can be a challenge with small children that when they say they have to go probably had to go a long time ago.

Overall we enjoyed our four days stay and will certainly use the campground again. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

We were very pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed this KOA. I had read a few negative reviews before we arrived. We were staying in the area to attend the Drum Corps World Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indy, and this location was perfect: 20 minutes to the stadium! We had 4 adults and 3 kids in a 42' 5th wheel. I had reserved a pull-thru deluxe. The site (#D31) was perfect for our needs. The gravel pad was fairly level, and was long enough to easily hold our camper, plus 2 large vehicles. We had a concrete patio and a fire ring.

During our stay, the temperature was in the 90's, and it rained 2 out of the 4 days we were here, so we weren't able to be outside as much as we would have liked. However, the kids used the pool and it was very nice and clean. Our 2 dogs enjoyed running in the extra large fenced dog park.

Some of the turns were a bit tight for a big rig, but we were able to navigate without too much problem. There are many mature trees scattered throughout the park. The campground is right off I-70, and there are gas stations and a couple fast food restaurants at the same exit. As close as we were, we didn't notice any excessive noise from the freeway. Like another reviewer has already said, my only real complaint was the location of the only restrooms/shower facility if you are camping in the area that we were in. It is a long walk if you're in a hurry to get there! Fortunately, most of us just used our own facilities. Also, when you pull in for the first time, take the second entrance. We pulled in the first, as our GPS told us to do, and ended up driving over the same narrow bridge twice going to and coming from the office. If you take the second entrance, you'll go straight back to the office to check in. We plan to attend this event next year, and will definitely stay at this KOA again. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed for 8 nights & was closest park for us to attend Little League Regionals games. The campground was large with many spaces and several long pull throughs with poured concrete patios. Our site and all of the other larger/longer sites had two sewer connections. Typical RV electrical box with 20, 30, & 50 amp service.

The park was divided down the middle by a creek which required a longer walk to the office from some locations. All roads were gravel and each site had fire rings. Several tent sites and cabins. The pool seemed kind of small although we never saw it overflowing. The pool had chair to lower handicapped persons into the pool. The "store" was well stocked with good prices. Good fenced in dog walk. Except for the first weekend, the park was quiet. Tight squeeze between buildings for check in which would be worse if coming in first time after dark. Had rec hall with several tables which we did not use.

Cons. Owner was less than welcoming, but staff was friendly. Owner mowed close to campers using a side discharge zero turn. He would not allow golf carts in park. He would not allow satellite receivers, grass mats, or bottomed screen rooms in grass.

Wood burning in fire rings was so bad the first two nights, we had to close windows but others were sitting around their fires. Honey bee population was horrible. Could have just been the time of year we were here. Water pressure less than 40 psi for the entire time we were here. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Narrow back to back gravel sites, some can be out of level. Strategically place trees to block satellite signal seems to be the norm. As most KOAs, this one older and is over-priced for the value. Utilities were good and mostly well placed. Trash is picked up at the front of your site every morning after 11AM. Nice store with the basic food and RV needs. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed two nights - it is right off the freeway and pretty convenient except for a sharp turn between two buildings for registration. Our space was level and we had lots of room. It is a fair walk to the showers from the area across the bridge we were parked at.

I would have given a higher rating if we had not been place next to a permanent 5th wheel that was very untidy - there was visible trash piled at the end of their space and visible to ours. We went to the office and complained; they said they'd take care of it but never did. We mentioned it again the next day and were ignored. Not sure why they would place anyone so close to a full-time set up when there were lots of open spaces available. Actually not sure why they would allow this rig to be as untidy as it was.

It rained for two days and there was a lot of water around our trailer so drainage might not be too good. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Great park with a large dog park. There is some shade making it hard to get satellite reception. There is no cable but antenna tv reception was good. Long pull throughs are gravel but not real level. They still believe water runs up hill for sewer. It is very dusty entering park which does need attention to repairs. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Park is located between corn fields, an RV dealership, and a highway. The entry gravel road is very, very poor, narrow and needing repair. One section is for long timers and the other is for transients. All interior roads and sites are gravel and some are very unlevel. It is 7 plus miles east to town and 12 miles east to the big city. Check the roads and highways for heavy construction...lots of traffic, detours, trucks, divided highway. This was our worst driving day of or trip.

I thought it was high for the night. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Don't usually stay on KOA due to their high cost, but this was Memorial Day week and Indianapolis 500 weekend as well, so we had little choice. The campground is very full. Sites are average width, but angled so you have a little breathing room. Level sites with grass between. Very well maintained. It's a KOA. 'nuff said. Asked for a satellite friendly site. Couldn't find satellites because of trees. Site was out of level by at least 8 inches side to side. Speed bumps everywhere. This place has gained a number one spot on our never return list. Asked for a paved site, got gravel. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Camped in a 35 foot 5th wheel on pull through site 24. Site is located in section beside farmer's field & tree lines, farthest from I 70. Convenient to I 70 but traffic noise. Gravel site with nice grass patch & two well trimmed shade trees. Required board to level. Plenty of room for truck. Close to neighbor on utility side; some sites are buddy style. Full hook-up. Good WiFi, AT&T cell coverage, over the air TV. Shower house is not as clean as most at KOAs; laundry house is okay. Both facilities could use web removal attention. Dusty lanes. Pool closed for season. Pleasant staff. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This KOA is east of Indianapolis just south of I-70. Road access to the campground is narrow and long leading to the office and the turn back to the sites for big rigs is very tight. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

If following KOA directions, do not turn at first sign; keep going and look to side road after quarter mile. Look for big sign. Otherwise you will go over old wooden bridge. Interior roads are a potholed mess. Pads dirt & gravel. Grass needs cutting. Pool green. Got to drive all way thru park on awful roads to check in. Whole place is old and neglected. Don't know how they meet KOA franchise standards. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Easy access to the Intersate. The grounds were clean, pool clean, friendly escort to space. The site is chip stone and level. The roads in the campgroud are bumpy and could use some work. The electric, water and sewer were fine. No cable TV. When I called up Wifi the screen message stated that the security certificate wan not secure, so did use. Would stay overnight again.
