Owners/operators are wonderful. Helpful and considerate. Lots are nearby each other and sunny/open. Site surface is gravel and the lot had a picnic table. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Motorhome.

This is the fourth or fifth time I've stayed here and it is always nice. While there are not a lot of things to do here, it is VERY well maintained and clean. The 24 laundry with heat and AC is always clean, with all the machines working. The spaces are good size, with strips of grass between you and your neighbors. The water supply is clean enough to not use a filter. They have decent cable and wifi (though don't be the guy who streams netflix and ruins it for everyone). The staff is very friendly an helpful. As others have mentioned there is a fire station next door. In my two weeks there the siren did go off once, but hey, we live in a society where we have first responders that are needed. So that's just a part of life. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a Pilot and a Flying J just down the street. So propane and fuel for big rigs is close by. There are also several fast food places around them. In the other direction a few miles is a 24 hour Kroger.

We stayed here several days while visiting Indianapolis. Its location is convenient when you want to be close (but not to close) to the city. A 17% total of city/state taxes really impacts the nightly price for a lot. Water pressure is Fair, cable is Okay and the WiFi was out due to a lightning strike. Big negative is the interior roads and site spacing. Depending on where your site is - affects the path you have to drive. Many of the turns are tight and many have large boulders placed around them to keep people from driving on the grass. The site spacing is another strange setup. Coaches are parked Driver side to Driver side. When both have their slides open - there is only a few feet between them. On the passenger side - there is about 20 feet between the coaches. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Motorhome.

Main roads paved, site roads gravel with long, wide and level pull thru gravel sites. Each site has FHU and table. Fast free wi-fi at sites, ota tv good and good free cable. Most sites have grass and some gravel sites are extra wide. Traveler sites are open for good satellite. Restrooms and showers are a very long way from the sites. Staff friendly and helpful. Park well maintained. On site RV repair shop. Kids playground and fishing lake. 6 miles to downtown Indy. Would stay there again. Weekly rate including taxes. Tips for other Campers:

The Indy zoo is excellent but $$$. For an adventure and terrific food eat at Mann's Grill 4 miles away. No prices on menu as everything is a dinner or breakfast combo and are all the same price. Excellent food and good value at $7.95 and enough for two or take home half of the food. Indy speedway tour and museum interesting $.

We were in Indianapolis for a downtown convention, so all we wanted from the campground was a good place to park the RV and Lake Haven Retreat fit the bill nicely. It's urban camping, although the small lake does add at least a bit of a camping feeling to the place. Most of the campsites are pull through "back to back" sites. Our neighbor on the driver's side, then, was very close. On the other side there's a strip of grass that is shared with the folks on that side. Again, we were in town for the convention, so having a level site with good utilities (including WiFi) worked for us. Arriving at the campground might be a bit confusing. Arriving on Hwy 37 one turns onto Edgewood. The very first driveway is for the campground even though it looks as if it's just a house. That house is the office. Beside the office is the laundry and showers. This makes them pretty much equally unhandy for most everyone. Just past the driveway for the campground is a fire station. We could hear the trucks going out once in a while, but I think they must delay the sirens till they are down the street a ways because they weren't ever a big issue for us. The campground has several long term residents, evident by the big propane bottles. However, everything is kept reasonably neat and orderly. We paid a bit more than we usually pay, but again, this campground is all about location. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Fifth Wheel.

We didn't actually end up staying in the campground, though we did have a reservation. The only reason I'm reviewing this campground is for others who may share my sensitivities to giant power lines. This campground is located directly under those kinds of power lines and this is why we could not stay - it would have put my in the hospital. However, the management was incredibly gracious and understanding about letting us out of our reservation and refunding our money minus a night's stay, and we very much appreciated that. Luckily the KOA not too far away had space for us instead. The campground itself seemed nice - sites were close together, there was a firehouse at the entrance. That's really all we saw before we left to go somewhere safer for me. If you're cool with powerlines like those I'm sure this is a great place to stay, it certainly was a good value. But if you're sensitive to them like I am and they caue you horrible pain, you'd do better to go elsewhere. Again, the management was very accommodating and understansing, so I'd guess the staff there is very helpful based on our encounter. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Motorhome.

This is a large RV park that is laid out in several sections. We were in a 19 site area in the back that had all long, level, gravel pull-through sites with full hookups and 30/50 amp. Sites are close together but there is enough area around the park to go for a walk and also walk a large dog. Office hours are limited in the winter but my phone call was returned promptly, I was able to make a reservation over the phone, and detailed campground information was waiting for me on arrival. The wifi worked on our laptop but not on the cell phones. Located convenient to the freeway and the Indy Motor Speedway. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Motorhome.

Good Sam rate for one night. There was only one site available when we made a reservation. The site was an unattractive, narrow, back-in site that was all gravel. There are pull-thru sites that have grass and are more attractive. The site was a FHU, 50 amp site. We had good Verizon cell/MiFi reception and good satellite reception. There is easy access to I-465. In a pinch, we would stay here again. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Motorhome.

When arriving, you'll turn from State Road 37 onto Edgewood Avenue. You will make an immediate right turn into the park. You will see what looks like a single family home which is the office. It may seem obvious but it wasn't for us! If they installed an "enter" sign, I think that would help. We stayed one week. The weekly rate is $186 but add on a 7% sales tax AND 10% county tax. We paid $217 total. This park is an easy drive to downtown Indy, various sports venues and the Indy Motor Speedway. As always, when you stay close to a city, there are going to be trade-offs. In this case, the park is adjacent to a busy highway and there is a fire station next door. However the section closest to the highway appears to be only long-term folks. And, surprisingly, we hardly ever heard a fire siren - maybe 3 times during the week. I suspect the fire trucks don't turn on the siren until they get to the highway. The section for short-term stays is away from the highway distanced by a nice fishing lake, large grassy area and the main office. You can still hear a low-level hwy buzz but it's really not bad. Nearly all short-term sites are pull-through with plenty of space for big rigs with toads. The CG was full while we were there so we had a back-in. We still had sufficient space and even a view of the lake. The office staff was proficient and friendly with reservations and check-in. The CG maintenance staff was very nice. The long-term section is well cared for and the the folks there were also very nice. Verizon cell and Sprint Mifi worked great. Obtaining a DirecTV signal was no problem although there are some trees in the pull-thru section so you might make a point to request a sat friendly site if it's important. All hook-ups worked perfectly and water pressure was fine. CG wifi was hit or miss (typical for an rv park). Given our need to be in Indianapolis, we were very happy with this park and enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Downtown Indy is very walk-able. Monument Circle is beautiful and the Eli Lilly Civil War Museum inside of the monument is well-done and free! The museum is specific to Indiana's role in the civil war so it's not too huge - an hour ought to do it. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway museum is fun even if you're not a race fan. Spend the extra few bucks to tour the speedway itself and "kiss the bricks".

This park is well maintained and run, sites are close and none are fully shaded. About 70% of sites are monthly or longer. Good laundry. Trunk bumper to trailer bumper we are 59', turns were doable but challenging. We barely fit onto the site but have seen worse. Came here for medical reasons and enjoy the park and area.
