This was a jewel of a park. We trusted our gps because the closer we got, the smaller and narrower the roads, causing us to question where we were headed. The final few miles are steep downhill and twisty so be forewarned. When we got to the park however, it was nicely level and open with about half the sites backing up to the Ohio river. The owner helped us find our spot and directed for the back-in which we appreciated as it was beginning to get dark. We listened to soft rain on the roof as well as to barges passing behind us in the night. We were only there for one night but would have enjoyed staying longer despite the rainy weather. We’ll definitely try to stay here again. We camped at Horseshoe Bend RV Campground and Boat Ramp in a Motorhome.

If you can get a riverside site, these are absolutely gorgeous and lovely, with large shade trees leaning over the riverbank. We stayed away from the riverbank because of availability. There were no trees away from the riverbank, and our Dish TV worked fine. The riverside sites might not be good for satellite TV. The website said not to rely on GPS, but our Google maps on smartphone took us right to the park. There is good signage guiding one to the park. The biggest drawback is that there is no mobile network whatsoever. We have Sprint with unlimited free roaming on any available network nationwide, and our cellphones said no mobile network available. There is no Wifi at the park. For this reason, I recommend downloading the offline map of this area for Google maps if you use it. Because of the beauty of the riverside sites, I would stay here again if I could get a riverside site. We camped at Horseshoe Bend RV Campground and Boat Ramp in a Motorhome.

A hidden gem located in Leavenworth Indiana, right on the banks of the Ohio River. A little hard to get to. The entrance road is one lane and twisted. But the locals go to allow for incoming Rv's. We even had a local driver show us the way to the park. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Full hookup sites with gravel base. There was a large flat area for games and family events even the play area for kids with swings and slides. Totally peaceful and serene. Enjoyed watching the barges go up and down the Ohio River. We camped at Horseshoe Bend RV Campground and Boat Ramp in a Motorhome.

Great little campground on the river. Vary nice people running the place. The only thing I did not like the road into the campground it is a little tight at times. Mostly Shady, dirt sites, Picnic Table, and fire ring. We camped at Horseshoe Bend RV Campground and Boat Ramp in a Fifth Wheel.

Right on the Ohio River. Tugs pushing barges through the night are noisy, but the view is worth it. No phone service (Verizon) to speak of. Gravel and dirt sites are large. Wide interior roads, but road into park is Very Narrow. No way 2 RV's could pass. We camped at Horseshoe Bend RV Campground and Boat Ramp in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

When I came to this campground last year, they were doing a lot of improvements under new ownership. They have done a lot since last year. The place has improved even more. I gave this place a 10 because I love a nice safe, clean campground that is close to nature. I looked over my reviews and I may give out too many 10's but that is because I just need good power, a sewer connection, Internet access and a nice natural setting. We camped at Horseshoe Bend RV Campground and Boat Ramp in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is located right on the Ohio River in Southern Indiana. The Campground features a two lane boat ramp that is very well maintained. There are two large rows of sites. One is Riverfront and the other site is not. The riverfront sites are more expensive. All of the sites are very shady with mature trees. The people at the campground were very nice. I just love the ability to slide a boat into the Ohio and explore it. I would recommend this campground to anybody! We camped at Horseshoe Bend RV Campground and Boat Ramp in a Motorhome.
