Expensive for a very small, tight spot. Water was both smelly and foul. - Superman
Aug 2017 - $51.00
Not exactly sure why this campground gets such high reviews. Sites are very close except for ones with a patio. Our neighbor's bright red sewer was about 7' from our door. Picnic table was rickety with peeling paint. Roads are gravel as are the sites with skimpy grass in between. Location is good for Middlebury and Shipshewana. Wifi very slow. WES ok. Roads are very manageable for 45'. Would try some other campgrounds in the area before returning, - Team Asphalt
Aug 2017 - $38.00
The first site we were assigned wasn't big enough for our rig (which is 36'); there was a tree brushing the side of our RV. Got easily relocated and all was ok. Nice place. Very nice people at the office. We'd stay here again. - TRDAWG

Wow can't believe camping season is over. This park is an so so park. Definitely nothing to write home about. Campground getting run down. Several sites the campers are old, run down and trashy. Plus older female office staff extremely rude and definitely needs to learn how to speak to the customers. Obviously a very miserable person. Owners don't seem to care how she treats others either or they would be doing something about her. With that kind of attitude and they have an attitude the owners are bound to and have lost business. Need to look for another campground. Customer service has gone away with the owners. Sad!! - KID
May 2017 - $41.00
Secure campground, you need a pass card to enter, which you get when you check in. Check in was easy, and a relatively well stocked store. Main interior roads are asphalt, others are gravel. Our site #310 was very level and long enough to park TV in front of , or behind our rig. Plenty of shade with towering pines. We stayed 10 days over Memorial week-end, and they were busy. We would stay here again. - JBu
Oct 2016 - $40.00
The daily rate is about 40.00 I think but I stayed for a month and that was 500.00 for a back in site plus electricity. All the pull throughs are for shorter stays since they don't have an electric meter. The camp ground is pretty nice, lots of pine trees, some that will block a satellite signal. The sites are pretty close together, mostly grass and gravel. WIFI is not free so that is bad for a campground these days. 5:00 per day or 25.00 per month. The owners and other employees in the office are ok but not overly friendly. The two rows of camp sites on either side of the park are for long term campers and a lot of those sites are old RV's with a lot of junk that makes the park look run down. One of the main things that almost made me leave early was the stink bugs. They are horrible and get into every part of your RV. Clothes, cabinets, beds and every where else that you can think of. I don't use cable and I guess that is a good thing since there isn't any. I have stayed there twice, once ten years ago when the park was a lot nicer and this time. I might stay there again if I were in the area but I would look around for something better next time. - Linda Allan

We stayed 5 nights. We paid $44/night plus 7% tax. With tax, avg rate was $47.08/night. Other reviewers describe this campground well. The online reservation process is easy. Check-in is efficient. The campground is big-rig friendly. All hook-ups worked perfectly. Verizon cell, Verizon mifi and DirecTV signals were good. There seemed to be an abundance of flies which was a bit annoying. CG wifi didn't work well for us. We were able to receive packages. The office staff was terrific. One of our packages arrived after we left and the staff forwarded it to us. This was way beyond the call of duty and we greatly appreciated it. This is our second stay and won't be our last. - GottaGoNow
Aug 2017 - $44.00
Great staff, great location in Amish and RV capital area. The only negative is that due to gravel/dust roads - dry times are a bit dusty. Shade exists on many sites. Good room between site for a private campground. No individual site camp fires allowed. - Superman
Aug 2017 - $40.00
We stayed at the park for a Open Range Rally plus 3 additional days. Pricing reflects Rally Rate. The park is very convenient to the area and the personnel is very accommodating. We enjoy this park but we probably wouldn't spend the money if it wasn't for a rally. - krisbw

No facilities at this campground, no playground, no dog park, here for the flea market only. Located just south of this large flea market. Many sites are hard to level on and roads can get very narrow when people park behind or in front of their RVs. All sites are full hookup with 20/30/50 Amp power. Your will need about 40' of hose to reach water since water sources are between the sites at odd locations. - Teacher's Pet
Apr 2017 - $38.00
Self-serve campground with no bathrooms or showers. Sites are first-come, first-serve, and some are rather unlevel. Some sites share electric post which means your post could be on the opposite side of the rig from the sewer. Right next door to the flea market and walking distance to the shops. - Peglegtraveler
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Great no frills campground for visiting Shipshewana Area. We had a full hookup back in site with good utilities. The pad was level gravel and 100 ft from the flea market. Some sites are not level and require blocking. A number of sites are taken by vendors at the flea market. Payment is made via drop box at the entrance to the campground, cash or checks are accepted. Credit card payments must be made at the flea market office. - Teacher's Pet

Sep 2017 - $39.00
Small (less than 50 RV sites) but very clean and well-maintained park. Our site was a level gravel pull-through with electric and water. There was highway noise if that sort of thing bothers you. Park Wi-Fi signal was good. - Our Rolling Home
Aug 2017 - $38.00
This is a very pleasant park. Probably the biggest downside is that it is located at an intersection with a lot of noise from traffic stopping and starting even though the sites are back from the road. WiFi was very good. TV reception was marginal. Trees give some shade and privacy. It is about 3 miles to Shipshewana; away from the traffic in town. There were some shower maintenance (drainage) and cleanliness issues. The adjacent frozen custard stand is an everyday temptation. We will definitely return to this campground when we are in the area. - RXA-ADM
Jul 2017 - $37.00
Located at the corner of SR 5 and SR 120, with easy access from I-80/90 and roughly 4 miles north of Shipshewana, this park is a good place to stay while exploring the area. The Flea Market on Tuesdays and Wednesdays attracts a lot of visitors, creating gridlock on the town's roads, so we were glad we hadn't opted for the south campground. There are nice shaded sites, but the electrical post is shared, which can be awkward if both RVs need 30 amp plug ins. The host kindly lent us a 50 to 30 amp adapter so we could safely hook up. There is quite a lot of traffic noise, day and night, from the intersection, as this is heavily traveled by trucks going down to Elkhart. - dands

Really hard to find a campground open in winter with hookups and easily accessible. We are so happy we found this! Bought a new trailer and used this campground to get all tested and set up, excellent find! Grounds are huge, convenient to stores like Walmart and Menards for errands, close to food and restaurants, couldn't ask for better. Easy to find on our GPS, staff is friendly, bathrooms are clean! - DaCrazyCatLady
Mar 2018 - $25.00
Campground was not easy to locate using our GPS. It is outside of town, which is common for Fair Grounds. Unfortunately is 20-30 minutes from the Interstate. As other reviews mentioned, there are a lot of trains working 24/7 and although you can tune them out, can be heard. Staff was very nice and friendly. We had our choice of sites. Perhaps a dozen other campers. Water and sewer is available throughout the year even though we opted for just electric. The Wifi is good and stable to use. The showers and restrooms are nice and clean. The sites are back in, but you can pull through open sites if you are careful. The website states Cable TV, but is meant to sat TV channels easily available with antenna. We were able to get all major networks and several other channels with good signal and clear picture. - 17Glamping
Sep 2017 - $30.00
There are numerous camping sites at the fairgrounds. Our first site that bordered CR 34 was not level, front wheels off ground, and small sites. RV parked almost door to door. We changed to another camping area on the north side of the fairgrounds. Not a good idea either. Just on the other side of the trees bordering the fairgrounds are three heavily used rail road tracks. I lost count after 40 trains passed next to use the first night. Very loud. So much for the negative... Fairgrounds have very good free WiFi throughout the fairgrounds. We were there when nothing was going on so camping was very empty. The campground WiFi performance: Ping 12ms, 4.35Mbps download and 4.80Mbps upload. Water pressure 60 psi. 50 amp service: no load leg 1 - 123v, leg 2 - 122v. Under load 119v and 118v. Sites are level and most roads leading to the camping areas are paved. Overall rating of 5 because of the amount of trains passing at night and how loud the trains were. - Rufas

Jul 2017 - $1.00
The showers were not very clean, very small and no privacy curtain for dressing. This is a huge park and over 4th of July weekend was packed. Sites are big but some pose a challenge backing into. Sites were very shady but as a result we couldn't get direct tv reception. Office personnel were vey helpful. - krisbw
Jun 2017 - $48.00
We came here on Father's Day weekend. It was busy, but there were still several sites available in our section. This campground is very unique in that there are two separate campgrounds on either side of the main road, one side seemed to be more "rustic" than the other. The park is big enough that you can bring your own golf cart, or rent one from the park - price depends on the day of the week and/or holidays. The campground has a swimming pool and a lake available for activities. - Maga04
May 2016 - $20.00
Called the Encore toll free number and was told PA rate is not valid for fhu sites. Called the cg direct and had no problem reserving a fhu site at the PA rate. Was assigned a site on the phone. On the day of arrival, the park called to ask if I would accept a different site. Current occupant wanted to stay longer. Sure, no problem. Was assigned a site 2 spots down and pretty much the same. Registration was a breeze. Lower gate card reader did not work, but the upper one did. Loop road in the RV area is narrow. Your coach will likely go off the asphalt, but it is not a big drop. Lots of trees, but not too close to the roads. Satellite reception could be a problem though. Only picked up a few channels by antenna. Camplink pay as you go wifi worked very well. Much better than Tengo and cheaper, too. Pool was not open, but the resort fee was still charged. Small fenced in dog area. This place is very big. It is real easy to walk your dog for a half hr on the paved roads, just make sure you pick up after your pet. Several trash dumpsters throughout so you're not carrying the poo for long. Some of the back in sites are really long, easily 60' - 70'. Pull thrus are probably in the 50' range. Some minor road noise from Hwy 120. Would stay here again if in the area. - TH travelers

Oct 2017 - $44.00
Camped here for a couple of nights while taking a Keystone factory tour. This is a basic (but large) campground - good for a stop over or a convenient place for groups. Not much for a "camping experience". Sites are basically flat and level, partially shaded, and close together. Good location for access to all RV manufacturers and the RV Hall of Fame/museum. The campground has propane available. The worst part about this campground is the horrible taste of the municipal water. We will stay here again if we need to, but next time I'll bring extra bottled water. Many restaurants, hardware and other stores close by. - Bama Camper
Oct 2017 - $40.00
We arrived the day after a very had rain storm hence the mud. Each site is gravel with grass in between each site. There is a picnic table and a fire pit. The roads inside the park are a little on the tight side but we managed. We were assigned site 740. This is a very large park with 909 sites. We had good satellite coverage. We would stay here again if ever in the area. - kathiecarlson
Sep 2017 - $44.00
Nice enough RV park. Roads are hard pack dirt, easy enough to navigate. Check in area is suitable for unhooking if necessary. We should have, except staff said we didn't need to. Except we did. Our site, 724, is in a section where the sites are at a 90 degree angle from the road, and our site had a VERY heavy fire pit in the back patio area. I tried, and missed. I about broke my back moving the fire pit. Sites are a combination of grass and gravel. They are level and have a grass patio area with picnic table. Utilities and WiFi worked well. Cable is an extra charge. Restrooms are good. Huge fenced dog exercise area. - VegasVagabonds

Nice little place with mobile homes being their primary business. Being that there is only 5 sites I would recommend calling first. Clean, friendly, black topped roads and shopping close by, hardware store across the street, McD's down the street as is a grocery, CVS, candy making business and a quaint little town. On a main N/S highway (Detroit St or SR 9) but minimal road noise. Back in gravel sites with grass all around and a wooden deck making for a nice site. For $20 this is a great place but because of no other amenities I only gave it an 8. We will use this place again. - rvngolfer

You have to make reservations. They provide Passport America and Escapees discounts. The park is clean, and the host couple that check you in are very nice people. We love seeing them each time we have stayed here, and this was our third stay. We camped in site A2 this visit, and we were very thankful for the host couple to assign us to a very nice spot. We had 30 amps and water. All our utility hookups worked great. There are dump stations, restrooms, showers, a swimming pool, a very nice playground, and tennis courts. Out our back window was a view of a soybean field. It was a quiet and restful RV campground. We went to Sturgis, Michigan for Walmart, laundromat, and diesel fuel. Sturgis is 5 miles north of Howe, Indiana. Diesel fuel is much cheaper in Sturgis, Michigan than Indiana. We are so thankful for the host couple for making sure we had a space to stay at for our 3rd visit to Grand View Bend Campground! They are the nicest people! The two improvements would be to improve the dusty interior roads by the short-term RV campers and trim the tree limbs on the route to the dump station. Our site at A2 was not as dusty as those on the line along the fence. We would definitely return for another stay if in the area in the future. - Lindy White
Jul 2017 - $10.00
We have often stayed here while visiting this area which we love. This may be or last time at at his park however as the elderly couple who check you in are not pleasant. We asked for a site so we could get a satellite reception and were told no. Our friends had a site with reception and were departing the park the following day so we asked if we could move to that one when they left. We were again told a flat NO. The couple said that we CTC people were nothing but whiners. This site we wished to transfer to was never occupied the entire time of our stay. - Part timers
Aug 2016 - $15.00
We stayed for two nights. The park is near Howe, the home of Howe military academy. The entire area has pretty farms and quite a few small lakes. The roads leading to the park were good. The roads throughout the park are gravel. They were washboard when we arrived, however, after a heavy rain, there was a tractor smoothing them most of the morning. There is a large inviting pool, but I did not use the pool. I looked at the bathrooms and showers near the pool, but I did not use them either. They need updating, but looked clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is a resort park that is owned by the members. There are a few sites near the front of the park that are rented out to others. The sites are grass with water and electric. Not all of them have 50a, but we were able to rent a 50a site. The electric appeared quite new and modern. Some of the sites are uphill at the back, but we made it work.
Shortly after we arrived it rained a lot in a short period of time, flooding some of the sites along the entry road. Just keep that in mind if it looks like rain. We had no problem with our site, but there was one a couple down from us that had standing water for several hours. The water is well water and is good. The dump station was easy to access and is lower than ground level making it one of the easiest dump stations I have found in a long time! We would stay here again if in the area. It is about 10 miles to Shipshewana. - ahmavic
