17 Parks near Middlebury, Indiana
Jul 2016 - $40.00
Decided to stay last-minute on our way to the East coast. Nice level site, W/E only. Little deck off of the site. Other campers very friendly, they were in the process of remodeling the bathroom and it looked nice. We didn't have the time to take part in any of the amenities but they looked nice, clean grounds and lots to offer. - EllenT
Jul 2016 - $37.00
This park was a lovely overnight, one of my favorite stops on our 26 day trip. Quiet, clean, and friendly which are my top three things to look for in a campground. Restrooms were spacious, air-conditioned (a big plus!!), and clean. - calijame
Jul 2016 - $40.00
It was a bit tight for a 65 foot length, they had to put a cone behind my unit. The water pressure was good but had a foul smell to it. Had someone knock on my door on Saturday telling me about church service they gave on Sunday. Don't like religion pushed on me, okay to do your own thing but don't pester me. Don't think I'll camp in bible country again. - BigBear
Sep 2016 - $40.00
Great family resort! Level lots. Roomy. Quiet. Would stay here again. - Sir_Charles395
Jul 2016 - $41.00
Nice place, although it is a big campground, in the evening it is quiet. Two pools. WiFi was not for free. Sites were not that big, but big enough for us, because we did not have neighbors during our stay. - Bisan
Jul 2015 - $48.00
A beautiful setting amongst Pine trees. Very quiet. We were in the deluxe pull thru area. There is an older section that has RVs packed together. Looks like they live here permanently. Swimming pools are very nice. Gated park. - Missouri3
Oct 2016 - $44.00
Great location to visit Shipshewana and area; you can actually walk to the nearby restaurants and shops. We were in the back row of pull thrus near washroom/laundry - they are all long. We are 56 feet without unhooking had lots of room on the site and lots of room to pull in and out of campground. Nice and quiet and clean sites, no seasonals with their stuff out. Showers have push button, which is annoying, but they are clean. We have been here before and prefer this park. Internet was adequate to check emails. No cable TV provided, but we could pickup on the antennae and satellite (no trees obstructing). - lcoverosey
Sep 2016 - $44.00
Had to pay for entire stay in full at time of reservation. Their cancellation policy is pretty strict. Read terms carefully. Verizon cell, Sprint Mifi and DirecTV all worked well (not many big trees in CG). Park wifi worked ok depending on time of day and all hook-ups worked perfectly. Online reservation system was easy, check-in was smooth and the site was fairly level. Oddly there is only one trash dumpster for the entire CG located near the entrance. The park is close to all sites in Shipshewana and an easy drive to nearby towns. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. - GottaGoNow
Sep 2016 - $42.00
Tidy well maintained RV park. Level sites. Several pavilions and grassy areas within the campground give it a spacious feel. A short drive to the walking district in Shipshewana. ATT cell phone and satellite was good, wifi was good with repeaters on towers placed around the park. - zcaptain
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Great no frills campground for visiting Shipshewana Area. We had a full hookup back in site with good utilities. The pad was level gravel and 100 ft from the flea market. Some sites are not level and require blocking. A number of sites are taken by vendors at the flea market. Payment is made via drop box at the entrance to the campground, cash or checks are accepted. Credit card payments must be made at the flea market office. - Teacher's Pet
Sep 2015 - $27.00
This is an excellent campground for visiting Shipshe!! You must be self contained!! There is NO showers or bathrooms available!! The full hook up back in is $27 a night and pull thru's are $33. They have sites with no hook ups for $12 for back in and $18 for pull thru, excellent for the quick, safe overnight place to lay your head!! We love this park for the simple reason is located right at the Flea Market and within easy walking distance to downtown, for shopping or food!! The reasonable price is awesome for the area, as many of the other places charge way more & you have to drive to get to town or the flea market! They take NO reservations, it's first come, first served, most sites are gravel & level. We are usually the smallest rig in here, lots of BIG motorhomes enjoy this place and it is set up to handle them. - Trainmom
Sep 2015 - $33.00
Nothing special except probably the cheapest in the area, no facilities except spotty wifi. Hook ups were all good but as said before have a Y for the water as it is a shared hook up, also check your site choice as some are opposite, like buddy sites. Fills up in the beginning of the week mostly for the flea market within walking distance. - DBLR
Aug 2016 - $32.00
Nice, no frills campground. Most sites were shady and appeared to be fairly level. Good location for seeing the sites around the area. Restrooms were in great shape and very clean. - Daryn
Aug 2016 - $41.00
First of all, there are 2 Shipshewana Campgrounds in Shipshewana. North is the smaller but in this reviewers opinion the better. The other puts campers right on top of each other, and has much less shade. North is 3 miles north of town. Shady. Bathrooms were spotless. Ice cream store on premises. This is a great Amish community with buggies everywhere! We had a great visit, as our camper is a Jayco, so we were able to take a factory tour while we were here, also. Great services. Artsy town. - Mike from Bama
Jul 2016 - $44.00
Very close to town for you walkers. Park is clean and and simple to get settled. The bathrooms are clean along with the showers, but are in need to modernize. Campfires are not allowed, but in one place there is a communal campfire. Friendly staff. Monday nites are usually full because of the Flea Market on Tuesday so call ahead. We have been staying here for 8 years and nothing has changed in that time. No activities for the kids big and small. No pool but that is something we don't use anyway so we can do without. - Scooter & Crew
Sep 2016 - $30.00
This is the type camping that you would expect at a fairground: just the basics. It is basically a large flat gravel parking lot with grass between the parking spaces. Connections were fine. Water connections are shared with other sites. Depending upon location, some of the spaces are extremely close together. The biggest detractor were dozens of trains that travel very nearby hourly day and night. I would suggest this campground only to people who are attending a rally or activity at the fairground. It is OK for an overnighter. Be sure and ask about the activities scheduled during the days you plan to stay at the fairground because this will greatly affect how crowded the camping spaces are. If you stay for 6 nights at the Fairground you get the 7th free. - lauraslytle
Aug 2016 - $1.00
Stayed here again this year for the FROG Rally and as always the grounds are immaculate. Seeing they just got thru with their fair: it was impressive to see how clean the grounds were, and how fast the fair ground crew were able to set up all the things needed for a rally of close to 800 rigs.
Yes there are trains, but all summer almost every where we stayed we heard trains. Maybe not as close as here, but we got used to the noise.
FYI: Some sites might need extra lengths of sewer hose. - DBLR
Aug 2016 - $32.00
Stayed here again for the annual FROG rally. About 800 units this year. Electric and water service very strong for the number of units on the systems. Rained several times during the week but ponding was at a minimum. Elkhart county and city of Goshen operate this campgrounds/fairgrounds like a well oiled machine. Office staff very pleasant and helpful. If you are in this area, whether visiting or business with the rig factories you can't go wrong staying here. - xarmoreddriver
May 2016 - $20.00
Called the Encore toll free number and was told PA rate is not valid for fhu sites. Called the cg direct and had no problem reserving a fhu site at the PA rate. Was assigned a site on the phone. On the day of arrival, the park called to ask if I would accept a different site. Current occupant wanted to stay longer. Sure, no problem. Was assigned a site 2 spots down and pretty much the same. Registration was a breeze. Lower gate card reader did not work, but the upper one did. Loop road in the RV area is narrow. Your coach will likely go off the asphalt, but it is not a big drop. Lots of trees, but not too close to the roads. Satellite reception could be a problem though. Only picked up a few channels by antenna. Camplink pay as you go wifi worked very well. Much better than Tengo and cheaper, too. Pool was not open, but the resort fee was still charged. Small fenced in dog area. This place is very big. It is real easy to walk your dog for a half hr on the paved roads, just make sure you pick up after your pet. Several trash dumpsters throughout so you're not carrying the poo for long. Some of the back in sites are really long, easily 60' - 70'. Pull thrus are probably in the 50' range. Some minor road noise from Hwy 120. Would stay here again if in the area. - TH travelers
Jun 2015 - $17.00
Well when I reserved apparently I had not chosen a sewer site. Thought I did, but they upgraded for free so no complaints. The roads are narrow and the first site they wanted to put us in was very narrow and slightly sloped. I could have gotten in but went back and asked for a different site. We were in an area of seasonals. The first day we did have to climb on the roof of the rig and cut the low hanging branches back as they were hitting the roof in the wind. The sites are well treed and you are on pretty sandy soil but no sinking even after a few days of rain. The pool is nice as is the beach and lake. The lake access is small and far from where we were camped. All in All it is a decent place for the price. I do wish that TT/Encore/ELS would make an effort with their parks and make the seasonals keep their trailers up. Not a 10 year thing but just not look like they have not been repaired in the last decade. - RVing Along
Aug 2014 - $35.00
We came up here for a week to enjoy Shipshewana, and this campground is totally wooded. Where we were at was quiet, but the pine sap gets on your camper, and in it too. Other than that (no one can control nature), the campground was pretty clean. The pool is too small for how many can camp there, and we avoided it the whole weekend we were there. They have a lake you can go swim at (a real lake that is large--not a big water hole), and it was very nice swimming in that. There is a pizza deliver nearby that makes the best pizza we have ever had. A lot of people speed on the golf carts so you have to watch out for them, and kids won't and don't get out of the road when you are driving in or out of the place. Across the road are even more camp sites, but the roads are narrower over there. There were even a lot of Amish camping in the cabins when we were there. The staff is excellent. Super friendly, and we did have to go up front to use the Internet. Overall it is a nice place, and we would go there again. - happy2013camper
Sep 2016 - $39.00
Escapees 15% discount for two nights. Pull through site with 50 amp, FHU, and a gravel pad. Good Verizon cell/MiFi reception. Good satellite reception. Some highway noise. This is an okay park to use when in Elkhart, but it is not a resort or destination type of park. We would stay here again. - Dave51
Sep 2016 - $31.00
This is one beautiful park. We were there for an RV rally. Our lot, 725, was huge and level. Most spaces are on the grass, but ours was on gravel. The meeting hall was spacious and clean. So much to do and see in the area. My only complaint, as with many campgrounds, was the poor WiFi service. This place has the biggest dog park I have ever seen! Landscaping was nicely done. We barely scratched the surface on all that there is to do so we will be back. - Let'sGo!
Sep 2016 - $30.00
We attended a week long iRV2 rally, arrived 1 day early and had to stay 2 days longer. The owner only charged me rally rates for the extra 2 nights. That was a very nice surprise. We had a nice level spot, though the sewer hook up was at the very back of the spot. But we were able to park our tow in front. The rally had a very spacious hall that we used, it was kept clean by staff. An excellent dog park. In fact if the owners wanted to they could split it in two and have two large parks for the fur babies.
Only complaint was the voracious mosquitoes and that is not the park owners fault. We had no cable, but about 20 OTA stations at our site. Wifi was spotty at times, but usable most of the time. Would stay here again if traveling through. - Linda R
Aug 2012 - $20.00
Nice little place with mobile homes being their primary business. Being that there is only 5 sites I would recommend calling first. Clean, friendly, black topped roads and shopping close by, hardware store across the street, McD's down the street as is a grocery, CVS, candy making business and a quaint little town. On a main N/S highway (Detroit St or SR 9) but minimal road noise. Back in gravel sites with grass all around and a wooden deck making for a nice site. For $20 this is a great place but because of no other amenities I only gave it an 8. We will use this place again. - rvngolfer
Aug 2016 - $15.00
We stayed for two nights. The park is near Howe, the home of Howe military academy. The entire area has pretty farms and quite a few small lakes. The roads leading to the park were good. The roads throughout the park are gravel. They were washboard when we arrived, however, after a heavy rain, there was a tractor smoothing them most of the morning. There is a large inviting pool, but I did not use the pool. I looked at the bathrooms and showers near the pool, but I did not use them either. They need updating, but looked clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is a resort park that is owned by the members. There are a few sites near the front of the park that are rented out to others. The sites are grass with water and electric. Not all of them have 50a, but we were able to rent a 50a site. The electric appeared quite new and modern. Some of the sites are uphill at the back, but we made it work.
Shortly after we arrived it rained a lot in a short period of time, flooding some of the sites along the entry road. Just keep that in mind if it looks like rain. We had no problem with our site, but there was one a couple down from us that had standing water for several hours. The water is well water and is good. The dump station was easy to access and is lower than ground level making it one of the easiest dump stations I have found in a long time! We would stay here again if in the area. It is about 10 miles to Shipshewana. - ahmavic
Aug 2016 - $15.00
We pulled in and took a space of our choice. The sites are level and grassy. It was raining when we came in but the ground was firm. The attendant came by after 7 and registered us. They have about 40 spaces for us transients. The park has well over 200 spaces for permanent residents. The entrance road has numerous pot holes when we came in but a tractor is working the road as I write. The pool is pretty and the playground is nice. WiFi is good where we are. Only water and electric are available, with several dump stations on site. Large field of soy beans behind us and the park is filled with large trees. Clear paths for satellite dish pointing. We would stay here again. - Coy R
Aug 2016 - $13.00
Spent two nights here visiting RV Surplus stores and going to the Shipshewana Flea Market.
Nice shaded back-in site. Water and Electric only. Restrooms and showers located across the dirt road next to the swimming pool. This appears to be mainly a summer fill-timer / weekend resort.
Passport and other discount clubs park along the fence on the left as you enter. Great value for your money in our opinion.
Only downside was we were not able to pick up any over the air TV.
As mentioned in previous review, reservations now accepted. - thetravelkids
