Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $17.00
This is the second time we have stayed here. The sites are easy, grassy pull-throughs, and reasonably level. Each site has a picnic table, and a lot of shade. The owners are nice people- they prefer if you call 30 minutes before you arrive, so they can be there to meet you, but if you don't, you can just pick a site. The campground has quite a few permanent people, some mobile homes, some permanent trailers. There are no amenities, but we like staying here because its very convenient to Ball State University and the town of Muncie. We camped at Big Oak Park in a Fifth Wheel.
The park is what the name implies, full of big, really big, oak trees. It is a very nice older park with very long gravel sites scattered among the big trees. Most are nearly level with one or two small shims to do the job. Owner/manager is very accommodating. Will stay again when passing through the area as it is only 4 miles off the interstate.
