This campground is right across the street fro bass lake. The lake is total sand bottom and is the shallowest lake I have ever seen 2 miles off shore it was 7 inches deep yes I said 7 inches we had to push our boat a few times. This is a wave runner or jet ski lake. We went during their splash festival with is a holiday for them so we paid $10 higher for weekend but wasn't worth it nothing big nothing going on at all at campground. The campground is in need for some major tree trimming our friends that were going to camp next to us could not go they have a class a motorhome trees hanging down to low. They also needed 50 amp they called ahead the part said they would check and call them back our friends had to call 3 time to get a answer to witch they only had 2 and were taken. Also the water was real bad it was brown and smelled like onions real bad I had to switched to my tanks for water. So to sum up bad water, low trees, bad PR and a big lake or big puddle only good thing is very short walk to lake. As you guessed we will not be returning. - rv1

This is really a nice campground. The one shower house appears to be brand new. It was really nice. It rained the 2 days we were there so there was a little mud at our site. Some of the other sites appeared to be a little better. Sites were nice and big. We will go back. - Mike 1S
Jul 2017 - $27.00
All back in sites, electric only. We brought our own water. We arrived on Thursday because park gets very busy on weekends. Although campground was full, park rangers seemed to keep noise under control. Nice hiking, biking, and horse riding trails. Park naturalists were on hand for special events. Upon arrival our site had electric issues. Camp host was told and it was fixed in a few minutes. - Looney Bird
Aug 2016 - $42.00
Price includes $9 one time entrance fee in addition to our camping fee of $37.00 ($9 out of state, $7 for Indiana resident). I would consider this a very popular but primative campground out in the middle of nowhere surrounded by corn and soybean fields. Sites are dirt and and many flood badly during rain (ours did) and we had to change sites because of the flooding. There are sites that will take big rigs but many are short. Verizon cell phone was not good but our AT&T hotspot did work (no free wifi). Sites are electric only but fresh potable water is available throughout the campground. Bathhouses wear old but clean. Camp host was very helpful when we were flooded out of our site and helped us even though he was off duty. Camp host sold ice and firewood usually in the evening. The person checking us in was polite but seemed "off" to us. For us in a tent trailer, getting flooded off our site was not a great experience and we probably would not return to the campground. - roadking

We stayed her for work. Read other reviews that made us question whether or not we would reserve. We took a chance. Staff is unbeatable and very helpful. Easy to get to and get around the park hauling a camper. We were pretty much the only ones there for few days and noticed the bathrooms could use a little attention but they seem to be upgrading all areas consistently. The grounds are well kept. The lifers stay mostly in the back near the primitive spots. Loved walking around here. Other campers were respectful and fun. This is a great place for kids as well as older adults wanting quiet because it never gets loud or obnoxious. There are lots of things to do here but we didn't have time to take part in much since we were there for work. If you want peaceful, friendly and great service, this is the place for you. Won't name names but if you want lousy service, extremely unlevel cramped sites or tetanus, go to the "Tree" or "Trails" one. - CyberSenile
Sep 2015 - $42.00
We camped in a 34 foot motor home. We were in a pull through site close to the office. It had poured and the gravel site was wet and soggy. We turned down the first site for being flooded. WiFi was OK. The entrance road switched suddenly from paved to gravel with many potholes, bushes and shrubs needed to be trimmed. Although it was on I-30 we were not disturbed by the sounds. It was very convenient but over priced for a campground that needs to be updated. - rvflight

This campground is older but pretty and clean. They were friendly. Lots grass back-in sites. Pull thru sites are gravel and fairly level. Power was excellent. TV was good with antenna. - saw2
May 2013 - $30.00
We used this as an overnight stop on a westward trip. It is close to US-30 and does have traffic noise. We had a shaded site and Wi-Fi was quite good. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Sites along the small pond were all seasonals and folks there were friendly. We walked around and there is a nice playground, horseshoes, volleyball, and other activities. But this is not a destination campground. Some of the negatives other than the noise: sites at back were set up for double hookups with one camper in front of another and no easy way to get in and out; low tree branches at some sites would preclude taller rigs or hamper driving; entrance way is off US-30 and over train tracks that have a bump. If you are in the area and need a spot for a night or two, this is a good choice. We'd stop here again, but not if it were busy and we had to take a double hook at the back. - Too-wow
Aug 2018 - $25.00
Clean campground with beautiful saltwater pool and fishing pond. Every site has full hookup. Sites were quite sandy and uneven due to newly installed sewer hook ups. Roads are in desperate need of hole patching and stone. Highway and train noise, especially on south side of campground. Weekends quite busy with Seasonals. New owners are really trying to make good improvements. Good WiFi. - Looney Bird
Aug 2018 - $35.00
There was a lot of construction going in the park. I was told they had sewer issues and were trying to make repairs. Sites are level but muddy. We lost power at the site and when I went to the office they said they had called an electrician but had not gotten a response and offered a days refund. Water pipe was a couple feet PVC sticking out of the ground. It is obvious they are working to upgrade. - Edd505
Sep 2016 - $30.00
We found EZ Kamp on Google Maps. We just needed a place to stop for the night with electric. We called ahead since we would probably be arriving after dark. The owner was helpful and friendly. He said just come on in and ring the bell as they live upstairs. It was after 9 pm by the time we got there. No problem getting to site. It was an all grass pull-thru with no trees to avoid. We didn't even unhook for the night. The location is very convenient to the highway. We've read reviews before about highway noise. If a park is near the highway you should expect that and we aren't bothered by that. We would stay here again if we're in the area. - Pphil
Jul 2018 - $28.00
This was a nice, out of the way park for an overnight stay. The lady working the office was very nice and helpful. - RJ56
Jun 2015 - $23.00
We very much enjoy staying at Acorn Oaks, nice location just far away from civilization to be a true get away.
Well-kept park with nice electric and water service.
Very nice bath house and store.
We will be visiting very often. - RonGarrison

I can almost feel the collective eye roll from those more experienced than me, LOL. This is not a campground! It's a small city! There are over 1400 spaces here, almost all of which are permanent/long term. The "thing to do" here is ride around in your audio-equipped golf cart, blaring your music (nevermind that others are doing same with different music choices) while you drive around the "community". There are approximately 75-80 carts! It's quite a scene! The people are really nice, and encourage you to join in the fun, but it is honestly a bit overwhelming. We were just there for one overnight and it wasn't what we were needing for a relaxing evening after a long drive. We wished we'd found a Walmart! LOL. They do seem to disperse at 10pm (quiet hours). The camp site itself was ample size, grass/gravel and mostly level. The road in was narrow and difficult to navigate (they led us in). We had some shade. We had a good amount of space between us because no one was parked next to us. We won't stay here again, and would not recommend it for anyone seeking a real camping experience or a relaxing evening and a chance to sit outside and enjoy peace and quiet. - 2 Harleys and a Beast
Aug 2017 - $25.00
Huge campground (over 1000 sites ??), mostly seasonals. Lots of children's activities. Lot's of golf carts cruising. We were located 1/2 mile from the gate, so it was a bit inconvenient to leave the park (many speed bumps and the fact that when we leave, we take our entire RV). Grass site that we had to level ourselves. However, we did have bathhouse, pool, laundry, etc on our end. Loved being able to use Visa in the laundry!! - Barbara Aileen

I would not have guessed from the information that I found online that this was certainly not the park that was described. It is a very large park however only a very small part of it is available for short-term nightly use most of it is permanent residences I would not even call them long term they are permanent as in a mobile home park. The roads were very narrow with holes, the sites themselves were gravel but the weeds were quickly overtaking the gravel and if there are any guidelines or regulations for long-term permanent use they were not being followed. We were not there with any children however had we had one or two of our grandchildren with us I would not have let them use any of the park facilities. One other thing that their information said was that in the event of severe weather to use the restrooms for shelter as I said before it is a very large park and there was only one set of restrooms that I found on the park map which was at the completely opposite end of the park. Had there been bad weather my husband nor I would have been able to use that shelter while being slightly handicapped. I cannot recommend this park. - beejaykay
Sep 2010 - $22.00
Very nice host - working from his home he was happy to show us to our site when we pulled in to camp at about 8 PM. This is an older camp, with a newer owner who is working to spruce up the campground with his wife and son. This is not resort camping. We enjoyed the mature trees and the campground was very quiet, as most of the campers are permanent with residents not staying in their trailers. I think only one other RV was stopping in for the night. The area has been hard-hit by the economy, so visitors are appreciated. - AluminumCloud

This is a wonderful campground that is now under new management. The atmosphere is very friendly and fun for all. I have been going here for 10 years and it has improved greatly! There are activities for adults and kids at least once a month if not more. Everyone there is very friendly like family. The restrooms are clean and the office is nice for the kids if it starts to rain. They have a TV in the office and several games for the kids to play. I would recommend this site to anyone and have recommended to friends and family and once you come you will continue to come year after year! - Patricia V

We tent camped here over the Fourth of July week, and will return this year. Every year, we have camped at different campsites around Indiana, and this is the first that I would return to during a holiday. There was a wonderful playground for the smaller kids. Thrasher's Woods held a dance for the teenagers. They also have a wonderful stocked pond for the kids of all ages. Do not worry if you forgot to bring live bait, for Thrasher's woods sells night crawlers! The staff was very helpful, and very respectful. There was a little bit of noise at night, but the staff worked well to limit it to an acceptable murmur. The bathrooms could have used a little more upkeep, and the pool got overcrowded during the hottest parts of the day. Please keep in mind that this was over a long holiday week. I am very much looking forward to camping there this Fourth of July, and during non-holiday weeks this summer. - nicknick_78
