This is a good stopover place for us...stayed 3 Times. Easy to get in and out with large RV. Like others noted...interior roads could use repair. Noise? Of course...you can see the campground from the highway...the price you pay for convenience. Will continue to stay here when traveling through. Office folks nice. Great adjoining field to run the dogs. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice camp ground. Easy to get in and out. The folks there were great. The little lake looked clean, nothing floating in it. All the hook ups worked and were easy to connect. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This has got to be one of the worst parks we have ever stayed in during our 18 years of RVing. The interior roads are very bad with lots, and lots, and lots of potholes. The road noise is so loud you can hardly talk over it. The wifi is useless, at least at our site, and all this for $41.00 with a Good Sam discount. The sites are close together. Our site was clean and the water and electric worked fine. The office staff was nice and check in was very easy.

We normally do not park at Walmart, although we have on occasion, but RV parks like this one make me think twice about parking at Walmart. If you're going to charge $45 before discount, at least pave your roads and update your wifi so I can at least work on my computer while I cannot sleep from the road noise. Needless to say we would not stay here again. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is over priced, that said it was almost full of transient workers who were employed building a very large wind farm close by. The restrooms were clean, but a bit dated. The interior roads are some of the roughest park roads we've ran across during our travels. Our site backed up to the interstate on the west side and the dense row of pine trees did little to reduce road noise. Years ago when we stayed here for a few days, the park accepted Passport America, but no longer. The rate shown was for 7 nights over Memorial Day weekend, we had a graduation reception to attend in Lafayette (30 minutes south), plus a doctor's appointment in Indianapolis (about 90 minutes south on I65) and with the Indianapolis 500 race this was as close as we could get. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

It was off season and no one in office. Registration by honor system. Many campers that were working in the area and spaces were few. None of the facilities were open. Site had fire ring but no table. Only two pull thru sites available. Gravel roads in park were in bad shape. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

We arrived and were told that there was no problem accommodating us in a 43 ft motorhome and towing a full size truck. Wrong! We got to the end of the drive to make a wide turn and had to unhook or scratch the new motorhome with trees. Then sites not concrete, but soft gray clay gravel, and it rained. Will not stay there again. Girl in office young and not knowledgeable about motorhomes. Just not room to make the turn to park. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Road noise is unbearable. Cannot have a conversation without yelling or waiting for trucks to finish using Jake brakes. Very overpriced. Site was unlevel, no shade and large puddles of water that never dried up in the week we stayed. WiFi is nonexistent and no cable. I will not return. Been going here for 13 years....sometimes 1 to 4 times a year...many reviews are true...yes noise of freeway is bad but it's close to us about 45 miles from home....there are some good things about the park...such as the lake and things to do for kids...but the flip side of this is the costs...everything cost here...it is worse then those greedy amusement parks....camping has doubled here since we have been going in 2004..used be be affordable...now it's higher then most motels...the owner charges for everything...surprise there isn't a coin operated machine on the toilets...one person wrote surprise she doesn't charge for the air you breath....those bands for kids are high for using their slides and things...the owner also rules with iron fist....she has a huge attitude and won't reason with no one....don't ever get on her bad side trust me on this...we never had a problem but seen and heard many....camping used to be fun affordable and a chance to get away from the rat race...this place is not it anymore....she is trying to turn it to a second rate amusement park for kids while trying to drain the parents of money while camping there....camping is too high here and not to mention everything else....it used to be nice here but owner got greedy....there are speed bumps and silly gates here ...it's like a prison yard...she claims people coming in....which now I think is like 10.00 per guest.....look I know it's a choice to go here but have to be honest from what I have seen and experience! We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We have been coming to Caboose lake since 2012 and always enjoy are stay. Fishing is great and the lake is very clean. Plenty to do with the water activities along with a great staff. If you are looking for a clean and I mean clean park, caboose is the first choice. Caboose is number one for us, we will be coming back. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was the only park in the area of our travels, so we decided to take a chance despite the poor reviews. After the last review, we considered cancelling our reservation, but was told that we were within the 10-day window that prohibited a refund. Entering the park, it is a long, dusty trip to the pull-through sites, resulting in a tow vehicle covered in dust. Hookups were not convenient; sewer was 20' to the rear of the power pedestal, water was 25' in front, requiring extensions for both. But the real problem is the noise - overwhelmingly loud, continual, and intrusive. We felt like we were parked in the median of the interstate, except that if we were we wouldn't have the roar of exhaust brakes as trucks slowed for the adjacent truck stop. WiFi was intermittent, Verizon cell/data was good, and there is no cable TV and little OTA. All this for $42 a night with the Good Sam discount. We will avoid this park in the future. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is way overpriced for what you get. Upon arrival the first view is of a tired old mobile home/office. Past that is a jumble of construction materials and half d0ne projects. The interior roads are potholed gravel. The individual sites are gravel with heavy grass intrusion. Sites are about 75' from an off ramp for I-65. If the noise from trucks and their jake brakes doesn't get you the vibration of the trucks driving on a road in poor condition will. Didn't use the bath/showers because they are a 1/4 mile away near the entrance to this very linear park. On top of their overnight rate they charge for every thing else. Anywhere from $8-20 per person/per day to use the beach/lake. Their "lake view" sites are the ones backed up against the Interstate. Your view is what you can see between the "lake side" sites. Water hookups are between every other site, not at each site.

The WiFi works ok for e-mail. The online feature for reservation didn't work. The site says they will call you. They did not.

The overall impression is that the park is tired. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The campground itself is nice but they are very rule orientated: no mats at all, no satellite dishes on ground, they require doing your sewer, and outdoor activities during day hours only. The noise from the highway is unbearable and when we were there they were doing road construction at night so the noise never ended! We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Look we have been going here for years.... (12)....its a nice campground but like most others has pros and cons.....I will list them ...my opnion

pros......convenient right off freeway...but flip-side ,yes has a lot of freeway noise...has a lot of things to do for kids...but warning it isn't cheap and is not included in the cost of camping...you have to get a bracelet for each kid and isn't cheap!!! Nice lake to fish...but you guessed it ...yes a charge for that too....look the owner has put a lot of money in to this park...we like going here but what puts a bad taste in my mouth is she now has raised camping to a whopping $43.00 a night...I remember going her for $24.00 a night. Those days are long gone....we will not go here like the 3 times a year because of this price...hotel rooms are cheaper than this.....it is her right to do what she wants but the owner likes money is what I gather. The owner can be hard to get along with and has had run-ins with people. Just read other reviews on other sites. Don't get on her bad side she is nasty and has a temper. Luckily, I have never gone through that. She has tons of rules at this park including a gate with a kid monitoring the people coming in and out. It is like $8.00 a for a guest if you are not camping there. It is like a fortress. Look if you are mild mannered and thick skinned and follow the rules you shouldn't have a problem....2 years ago I was walking my golden retriever on the gravel road to the grass and people in tents with dogs seem to always let their dogs unleashed....luckily their dog rushed to us but nothing happened. ..the owner yelled at it....I did remind them that all dogs need to be leashed and they apologized..campground is clean and bathrooms are clean....there are a lot of permanents here....again the owner likes money...we go here because it is an hour away from us....still feel bad she has raised it to $43.00 a night thats why we will limit our visits here.....to me not worth 43.00.....it isn't a resort. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Park is close to the interstate and there is some noise. When we arrived there was only 1 pull in available with FHU. Lots of rain in this area so site was flooded back to the door, however, with sunshine and wind it was dry w/in 2 days. Units are close on side with shared elect/water but lots of room on other side. We faced the lake and there were lots of children enjoying it but most left on Monday. Some perm units for those who live in the area. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Only 1 small grocery store in Remington (IGA) but there is a Walmart in Monticello, about 20-25 miles as well as other stores. There are paddle boats, a beach, fishing boats and playgrounds.

Right on the interstate highway, so it's very convenient for a one-night stopover, but quite a lot of road noise to deal with at night. Fortunately, our little sound machine was equal to the task and we slept well.

We stayed in a pull-through site and had no problem getting on site or with leveling. We camped at Caboose Lake Campground in a Motorhome.
