This is a pretty park in a rural setting. There were mostly long-term residents, but the park was clean and well-maintained. There are 6 long, level pull-through sites in the front of the campground for short-term campers; unhooking would not be necessary. The sites are close to the highway, so there was some road noise, but not enough to bother us. We would stay here again. We camped at Grandpa's Farm Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We were greeted by a friendly person who gave us some interesting history about the campground and then escorted us to our site. It was very nice! This is such a cute little park with treed sites and a creek running through the back. The campground is older, yes, but very well kept up. A small pool was near the entrance. The restrooms were clean and well lit. The grounds were nicely kept with blooming flowers and lawn ornaments. I would not hesitate to return. Just walk around and enjoy the grounds. I took several pictures of the flowers and decorations. Quite lovely! We camped at Grandpa's Farm Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for three nights while visiting the Dayton, OH area to see the Wright Brother's history. The park consists of predominately seasonal residents. We arrived on a Thursday night and were escorted to a pull thru site parallel to IN 227. Quite a bit of traffic all day, but it slowed at night. By Friday the park filled up with the permanent residents and they parked where ever they could around their sites. We were planning to leave early Sunday morning, but had to wait until full light, so we could navigate around the parked cars. The place was okay for the three nights we stayed. The pull thrus seemed to be reserved for transients. Some people pulled their campers in backwards due to the way the lots were set up for the grass and fire pits. One thing that concerned us were these trees everywhere that were either buckeyes or horse chestnuts whose fruit kept falling and made a loud bang when it hit someone's camper. Luckily we were not under any of these trees. I walked my dogs each morning. I had to be careful of the fallen nuts, but the park was level enough. There's a nice creek in the back of the park too. Overall it was an okay place to stay for hour purposes. We camped at Grandpa's Farm Campground in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at Grandpa's farm many times and each time it has been wonderful. This is a private park with some permanent residents, but you never feel like an outsider. The owners are always on site and working hard to make your stay perfect. It is a great place to relax and unwind. I know several folks have commented about the noise if you are by the road, but I have not experienced a problem with noise. Usually the AC is running and you don't notice anything. Had one brief low voltage situation, but it lasted less than 15 seconds. My power conditioner shut things down until the power came back up. Facilities are neat and clean and you always feel welcomed. We camped at Grandpa's Farm Campground in a Motorhome.

We have stayed there 3 times and the owners are pleasant people. Atmosphere is rural and wooded. Many children there and things to do for them, especially the heated pool. We camped at Grandpa's Farm Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The bathrooms and showers were clean, but stalls were short so that when you stood you could see the rest of the bathroom and the showers were a tad small. Still, not bad. The pool was extremely clean and had many activities (Foosball, ping pong, etc.) for people to play at. Mostly seasonal campers, but great even for just overnight! Overall, a really great experience - oh, and the service here was great! Every time I have met a staff member here, I have been impressed with their quality of service. All in all, a great time. Have stayed here several times visiting friends in area. Will stay here again any time in area. Very nice people, small but like the layout. Not a fancy place but was always here either at just the end of winter or early to mid fall so either trees are not yet filled out or void of leaves. During height of summer, with pool weather, fully leafed out trees would be very nice. Only thing some won't like is that park is right next to a fairly heavy traveled road so noisy. We camped at Grandpa's Farm Campground in a Motorhome.

Lovely farmhouse surrounded by mostly permanent RV sites studded with mature trees. Transient pull-thru sites are very level but next to the road which can be busy at times. Very easy utility connections, very good wifi, good Verizon signal, able to get a good satellite shot from our site. We camped at Grandpa's Farm Campground in a Motorhome.

The campground was very nice and the owners were especially helpful and friendly. They checked me in and helped me back in, even though I arrived after normal office hours. They even helped me fix a minor problem on the RV. The site was level and the utilities well placed. The Wi-Fi was good, although not secure. I only stayed one night, so I didn't have opportunity to make full use of their facilities, but the restroom was clean and well maintained. Very reasonable for a full hookup site. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Grandpa's Farm Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice small family-run campground just a couple miles off I-70. (AUGUST 2013 ALERT: I-70 in Richmond is in horrible shape. Pay very close attention to the flashing boards/signs warning of "rough pavement ahead". There's a particularly bad spot on the right edge of the right westbound lane right before this campground's Exit 153. You WILL sustain damage if you hit this and some of the other bad spots at full speed. Stay well behind a semi and keep an eye on it - you'll see it swerve or hop if it hits it ,and you can react accordingly. The bad spots seem to be near bridges. Eastbound lanes are just as bad/worse! You'll see truck/car parts all over the place just past the bad spots.) The campground has a nice assortment of shaded or full-sun transient sites. Some sites can be tricky backing in with the big trees, but the owner will accompany you and advise accordingly; they know what they're talking about! Pool and surrounding area were spotless despite heavy use. Owners were very visible, going around keeping an eye on things, but NOT acting crabby/police-like like some other campgrounds we've been to. Extensive playground directly across from some sites. Easy access to the White River (actually a shallow creek in that area) for wading, crawdad hunting, etc. Our site 54 backed up to the creek and heavy woods - very nice in late August with all the bug/frog sounds at night. Hard-packed gravel interior roads and pads/sites. Other reviews mentioned the state highway right next to the campground. We were in the "back" where most of the transient sites are and really didn't notice it too much. What we did notice was the nearby church's outdoor service at 8:15am Sunday. Holy Moses! (pun intended) Their music was loud and "boomy" with heavy base - vibrated right through our newer 5th wheel and woke us up! We thought it was some idiot teenager in his car or something! And to think the first time we drove by, we thought "Gateway Vineyard" was where we could do some wine tasting, LOL! Since it was a church service, after all, I guess we won't hold that against the campground. The seasonal sites appeared neat, well-maintained, and occupied by newer/well-maintained units. We will be back to this campground. We camped at Grandpa's Farm Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
