Nice clean park. Very big rig friendly with mostly pull through very long sites. Sites are somewhat close together unless you snag an end spot. Very dog friendly. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Not a lot to do in the area unless you enjoy shopping and eating. Town gets very crowded with lots of traffic on flea market days. Yoders Meat and Cheese is great, and the RV hall of fame in nearby Elkhart is worth a trip. Enjoy a scenic drive in the country. Beautiful area.

Great park for the Shipshewana Flea Market on Tuesday and Wednesday. All camp site utilities are great, good 50 amp, water and sewer. OTA TV works great, get many channels. Easy check in and pleasant. Interior roads are gravel but well maintained. Sites very level. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park. Immaculate. Great service from hosts. Easy in/out. Pull-through was plenty long enough for 35 ft plus tow vehicle. No fire rings at sites so if you buy their firewood, you'll need a portable fire pit or you'll have to sit a the group shelter where there's a fire ring. A little pricey. Would rate it a 10 if they had a pool. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very, very narrow spots of unlevel gravel. Floods easily to the point our sewer hookup was under water. Staff was rude at check-in, because rally attendees were upset at being promised certain spaces and everyone moved. Folks traveling together and promised side by side locations were spread throughout park. Very bad experience. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent three nights here meeting up with business associates. We were expected and treated very well at check-in. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I saw recent comments about rudeness, etc. I believe people respond in kind when rudeness is dished out.

There was a lot of rain that moved through the area creating many hardships for the RV park. These are issues beyond any one's control. Rating the park poorly for unforeseen circumstances is unfair. We were there during one of these storms. We saw the flooding.

Electric service was good, water pressure was good and the sewer worked fine on our site. The site was long and we had no trouble navigating the park. We watched a 40' 5th wheel pull next to use in a very long pull through site. It took him 20 minutes to get into the site. The sites are not narrow. You just have to know how to handle your RV. This guy had no clue. Don't blame the park, just learn how to drive an RV in order to properly navigate into any site! We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is located just down the street from the huge flea market that takes place during the summer months on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The Blue Gate Restaurant is also about a mile north of the park. Both of these venues have great food opportunities.

Biking in the area is also a great activity as the Pumpkinvine trail is nearby and runs all the way to Elkhart, IN if you want to ride a lot of miles.

This is the heart of Amish country so the country charm is apparent everywhere.

The site we were initally directed to was too short for our motorhome (45'). There was a rally going on so there was not a good choice of sites. We selected a very narrow and short back in site. The gravel section of the site was too narrow to fit both the passenger and drivers side wheels on gravel. The rear tag and drive axle were beyond the gravel section. Generally this would be OK except for the rain. We had to call a tow truck to get out of the spot.

On the bright side, the rally that was there had a couple of mobile mechanics that provided a lot of good input. They deserve a big thank you.

The park is fine except that if you have a big, heavy and long motorhome, you may want to go somewhere else. The campground folks had assured us we would fit. They said they have big motorhomes in there all the time. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you go to Shipshewana, Yoders is a must stop. We always stock up on meat while there. The RV museum in Elkhart is also super.

Full hook up site with slight discount for veteran. Busy check in but everyone very friendly. Park seems well organized and clean. Enjoyed our site that backed to a horse grazing area. Park is close to flea market and other shopping. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Motorhome.

We were here for a Open Range Rally with 100 other units. We had a great time. The sites are pretty level and gravel. If it is raining don't go off the gravel it is very soft ground. That would be the only issue we encountered. There was a Large 5th wheel and a motor home that both had to be towed out of the site because they backed onto the grass. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are many things to do in Shipshewana and the surrounding areas. The flea market is typically open only Tuesday and Wednesday. Almost everything is closed on Sunday unless you travel to the next town. Also most stores close about 4 or 5pm on days they are open. There are 2 RV surplus stores in the area that are a must visit. One in Elkhart and one in White Pigeon MI which is only about 12 miles away. This is an amazing community.

This is our third stay in this campground for an RV Rally. The campground is nicely set up for groups and we were even permitted to put up a large tent filled with tables and chairs for a couple of weeks. The campground staff was very accommodating for our group activities.

We had a lot of rain during our stay and as promised, this campground floods during heavy rain. It did drain off fairly quickly and I'm not sure there's anything that could be done to prevent the flooding and fortunately it doesn't happen often.

The campground is surrounded by large open fields where beautiful horses are found and that's a nice bonus. The main downside is how close all the sites are to each other although this is very common in private parks. We barely had room for the provided picnic table between our rig and the one next to us.

The laundry had new looking appliances (4 washers and 4 dryers) and plenty of room. They even a large table and chairs and lots of reading materials available.

They have an RV/truck washing station up near the front office that worked well.

This campground is near the center of everything there is to see and do while in Shipshewana. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Shipshewana is all things Amish! Lots of nearby shopping and restaurants. Downtown Shipshewana is charming with friendly people.

We always enjoy riding our bikes on the Pumpkinvine Trail, which goes all the way to Elkhard via Middlebury and Goshen on 25 miles of trail. It's a beautiful flat trail which takes you past Amish farms.

The park is close to the hub of town. You get to hear the Amish horses clopping all the time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They pointed out the good places to go or see. We came with a another couple. We got to setup one backward. This got us hang out awning to awning! Just bring an above ground fire pit. PS, they can deliver the firewood if you call and ask.

Fun Times! We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Near the best Amish shopping experience. My favorite staff tip was the Amish bakery just south within a walk from the park. The only thing to note the town attractions shuts down early, latest 6 PM. The 10 acre flea market is just a mile north. Many shops in between. Also I found RV (New Old Stock) parts store only 35 minutes north in MI. Not an RV grave yard of used parts. It's all new from RV manufactures model change overs.

Very well kept park. Gravel pads with lots of grass. The sites are long and fairly wide. The staff was knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. About 1/2 mile for the flea market. We would diffidently return. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Motorhome.

With cable TV this park would be a 10. Beautiful, clean, large spaces with picnic table at each site. We chose a back-in and so had a small grassy yard backed up to an Amish farm where Clydesdales grazed. It is very quiet. Laundry is reasonably priced and showers pristine clean. Even pull-through spaces had a strip of grass so don't be put off by descriptions as a gravel parking lot. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground and great location for visiting the Shipshewana area. The park is clean and well kept. Plenty of room between sites. The roads and pads are gravel. All the utilities worked well. The free Wi-Fi signal was strong but very slow. Strong Verizon signal and 4G on our Hot Spot. The bath house was spotless. The laundry has 4 washer and 4 dryers; however, 1 dryer was out of order. The laundry was very clean, reasonable, and even had a large screen TV. We would stay here again on future travel to this area. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy access to and in the park with our larger RV. Woman who checked us in couldn't have been nicer. Well kept park but the price is steep given no pool and it's basically a full hookup gravel parking lot. Like others have noted, park nearly empty but we were surrounded by a convoy of traveling Canadians. They were courteous and polite but we felt out of place in the middle of their group. A space or two in between would have been welcome. I would stay here again, but next time in the area will probably look for someplace priced more in relation to the facilities provided. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very clean and well maintained park. Most of the lots are pull-thru and are big rig friendly, there are some back-in sites around the edge of the park. The sites are level well packed gravel with grass between them and a picnic table. They average at least 20' of grass between the gravel pads. We liked the park and area so well we stayed an extra two days. Wifi is not the fastest, but Verizon has an excellent signal here and the park is satellite friendly. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Fifth Wheel.
