Nice flat camping lots, with many trees. Very family oriented. Good roads for bike riding. Perfect in cool weather, but mosquitoes are terrible in summer. We camped at Tippecanoe River State Park in a Motorhome.
Walk to fire tower.

A very nice state park, with paved access roads and grassy sites. Our site was quite wide and easy to back my 34 foot fifth wheel into. Shower house is older but acceptably clean. Saturday night campfires caused a lot of smokiness, but that may have been unusual due to no breeze. Sites on the outside loop appeared to be larger and more spacious. Grounds were clean and well maintained. Several hiking trails available, and park its huge, so lots of places for bike riding. Canoe rentals nearby on the Tippecanoe River. We're already making plans to return. We camped at Tippecanoe River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

The campground is located among well-spaced mature trees, affording good shade below. The roads are narrow, paved, and the sites are gravel pads. I would say this is a not big rig campground, although a skillful driver could probably get into some sites. We stopped here for a couple of nights to check out the sand hill cranes at a nearby refuge. During our visit in early October, the usual fee for the vehicle was not being charged, so the rate shown, $17.34, was inclusive of all charges, including nice, private hot showers. We had good TV reception off the antenna and the Verizon air card worked well for Internet. We enjoyed the quiet of the campground with few RVs and would stay here again in the future. An established state park campground that is very scenic, especially in the fall. Campsites are of medium size and most sites are partial to full shade. Ample playgrounds and area for recreation. Several hiking trails and there is a 90 foot fire observation tower that can be climbed that gives a wide view of the park and surrounding area. Camping here in the fall when leaves are down can be a challenge for finding roads within campground. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There is no campground general store and nearest down is approximately 20 minutes south. We camped at Tippecanoe River State Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This is a nice state park with shady campsites, clean comfort stations with good showers, and some good trails to hike. Canoe rental is available in nearby Winamac. There is also a horseman's campground and miles of horse trails, which can also be shared by hikers, but hiking these trails is difficult and messy. I did not see the horseman's campground or the canoe camp, both of which are primitive. Nice waterfowl area where otters, frogs, birds of all sorts can be seen. I highly recommend trail 8 though the Sand Hill Nature Preserve on the north end of the park. Fire tower gives a great view of the surrounding area. This is a small park: no camp store (campground host sells firewood and ice), nature center has limited hours (not open before Memorial Day), no dedicated bike trail, and large rigs will struggle to navigate the narrow roads and trees in the campground. Only a couple pull-through sites are available. Cabins are available. We camped at Tippecanoe River State Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo
