Arrived during a heavy storm and found hook ups basically under water, looked at other sites to try and change but found the same, our main reason here was to visit the theme park so after the water soaked into the ground things worked out. Long pull thru but not real level, seems sites are getting upgraded to concrete but looks like it will take a while. Trolley to park was nice wristbands needed worn to ride trolly and enter the pool area. We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground next to amusement park. Easy to get to from interstate. Didn't make reservation early enough so had to take a 30 amp site. There is a tram to take you to the amusement park. Will stay here again when traveling in the area. We camped her in a motorhome. We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Motorhome.

This is mainly a work camping park during the spring, summer months. I am a work camper, but have camped here in the past. The park has been here since 1973. They are in the process of updating their sites with cement. There is a big amusement park next to the camp ground, and they have a Trolley to pick you up. There are about 100 sites for the daily use. We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

When the amusement park is open you can go take the kids there. There is a Casino/Horse track a cross the street from the campground. Gas in Altoona is always cheaper than Des Moines. There are several eating places across the street from the camp grounds on the north side.

Very efficient check-in process. Pull through sites were long enough for our 34' 5th wheel and truck. Pull through sites were angled 45 degrees to the roadway. Back in sites were mostly in circles where backing in was very easy. Very logical set up. There was a shuttle to the amusement park but the walk over was short. We walked all of the campground roads and circles and it was 2.5 miles. Small playground for the children. During the summer (May - Sep) you should make reservations because they have about 100 work-campers staying there. 95% of the rigs and their areas were well kept. Great water pressure. 50 amp power voltage was 118v. Our sewer connection was missing it's cap. Threaded sewer pipe came out of ground at a 45 degree angle. This was really a wonderful park to stay at. We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy access to and in the park with our oversized 40'+ Big Rig RV. Everything in park is dated and could use updating. Sites are quite close together. Full hookups, good cell service (ATT and Verizon), and quiet at night. Wouldn't be my first choice if in the area again but we would not hesitate to return if other options unavailable. We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Attached to an amusement park you can expect kids, big families and noise. Hard to find signage led us to miss entrance. Older park, older infrastructure. Casino across street. Watch your speed, speed nazi will get you. Grass needs cutting and trees need trimming. We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed at Adventureland Park 1-2 July and 5-11 July. Unfortunately they were not able to accommodate us on the 3rd and 4th of July due to the fact that waited too long to make reservations. They discounted the nights we were there because they were not able to accommodate us those 2 days. We also had to leave early due to a family emergency. The refunded our money for the days that we left early. I have never seen a park do that. Now for the park. This is an old park and therefore has some minor issues. Some sites are not level. This is not a huge problem. You just need to level your rig. There are many permanent guests there that work for Adventureland. Again, this is not a problem. They are very friendly and helpful people. The shower buildings are older, but they are also exceptionally clean. Whoever designed this park knew how to layout a park. Even with circular loops, each space is basically a straight back in. If I wanted to complain about anything, it would be that the sewer hook up should be to the rear of the sites. You need a long hose to reach the sewer drain. That is also something that is not a huge issue. A great plus was they added two fantastic dog run areas while we were staying there. Our dogs were the first to enjoy these and they had a great time! We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall a pleasant stay. Clean park, excellent staff (the desk guy was awesome), and great location (we were there to go to Adventureland). Kids had a blast, and enjoyed the pool. Lots of grassy areas for playing, but also good paved roads for bikes and scooters.

My only complaints are the site layout, and the requirement to rent a fire pit per night. We had a 30 amp spot, which were all arranged in small circles. This made getting the camper in and out mildly difficult and annoying. Also, none of the sites have fire rings. You either have to bring your own, or rent one for $5/night.

We would stay there again, but only if we have reason to be in the area, as it is a long drive for us. We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

When making reservations, tell them you need a 50-amp spot and bring a 50-to-30 amp adapter if your rig has a 30-amp plug. All the 50-amp spots are pull-through. Also be sure to bring an extension for your sewer hose, as the placement is weird.

Large park with asphalt roads and pads. Entry to park very near to busy intersection making left turns into park hazardous. Most pads are very narrow and asphalt is cracked and uneven. Great park for pet owners, with lots of grassy areas, however, the grass is very infrequently mowed, so may be 12"-14" high. Site maintenance is severely lacking with muddy holes beside pads, little grass between some pads and very uneven pads. Lots of trees, multiple restroom/laundry sites. Was not willing to use the washing machines in the laundry as they all had a horrible odor. Motorhome owners would be well advised to unhitch the toad, then drive around and pick your own pull-through spot. Park caters to "workampers" who work next door at Adventureland, most of whom, are friendly good neighbors. Lots of families visit on the weekends for obvious reasons. Near to restaurants, grocery stores & Walmart. Casino & horse track a plus for some. From our experience, the park is a bit pricey given the maintenance issues. We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Motorhome.

Part of the Adventureland Resort/Hotel/ Amusement Park complex. (Fun park is seasonal). RV park has all hard sites with grass "yards". Most sites have a fire ring, none have cable. Wi-Fi is LinknGo $ub$cription. Off-season and late arrivals must check in at the adjacent hotel. Geared for us to "bring the family and stay a week" but come-n-go overnighters are also welcome. Prairie Meadows Casino & Race Track is directly across the road. We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice campground, just looks and feels old. Plenty of space between sites and is situated on a large parcel of land. Amusement park is within walking distance but they do provide trolley service. Pool is nice and open late. Camp store is limited. This campground could use a fenced in pet walk area. Price is just an estimate. I don't recall what I paid. This campground was part of the campus that is the amusement park in Altoona. After registering in a smallish staging area to register, there is a long, one-way, loop that takes you through the large park. The pull throughs were all taken, so we had no choice but to disconnect for the overnight stay. We circled more than 3 quarters of the loop before finding our lettered loop section. The 6-8 site loop was very tight for our big rig and several of the cars in the loop were parked partially in the paved drive, making it even more of a squeeze. Our site was level, but tight and short. We actually had to pull forward enough to keep the jacks on a solid surface, with 10 or more feet hanging over the wet sod in the rear. You are asked not to park on the grass, rather in front of your RV, however we would have blocked the circle impeding traffic. I had to pull the toad immediately alongside the living room slide being careful not to back over the very forward sewer drain. We half expected someone knocking on our door asking us to move, but no one did. The park seemed to have many seasonals throughout and some of the sites were quite cluttered with stuff that looked like it had been there a long time. It was just OK for us to overnight. There was a good choice of restaurants and a Flying J right in the immediate area. We would more than likely look for a better option if in the area again. We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Motorhome.

We was here visiting friends in the area and attending the Iowa State Fair, that is the only reasons we would come to this park. Sites was tight and they have lots of extended stay. Really over priced! We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for five days while we were visiting friends who working at the amusement park. This is a noisy park due to being right next door to the amusement park. The shrieking of excited riders starts at 10 AM and ends anywhere between 9 & 10 PM. Sites were clean. The park is laid out almost in circular neighborhoods which make it feel less like a large city. We camped at Adventureland Campground in a Motorhome.
