Excellent RV park, concrete sites are long and far apart with grass between. Nice walking path around a lake. Set up for seasonal RV's and We stayed here one night on our way back to AZ. We would stay again. The restrooms and showers were immaculate. The only strange part is there is no check in, you call when you are near and they stay on the phone with you and guide you in. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very confusing on how to check in, office and RV park are two different locations. Poor signage for the office. Camp host at park was very helpful. Dog droppings are out of control, not the parks fault, you can't control owners. Park is laid out very well when you finally figure out all of the oddities. I doubt we will stay here again. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Park looks like two different parks, one a little older that looked very tight to your neighbor and the other wide open grassy sites that we beautiful. We were in the nicer section on an end site. Both sides of the camper had park like grass and plenty of room. No cable but lots of OTA channels. We only had one night but after seeing the campground and surrounding area we wished that we had more time.

As someone else noted checkin was easy if you have a reservation.

Would definitely stay again. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed a week here in a 42 foot 5th wheel and rate reflects that. Rate does not reflect the additional $13.95 for internet access which was very good. Even though we reserved a pull-through and were given a back-in, the site was deep, large and very nice. Nice park amenities in the clubhouse and easy access, paved roads. It is interesting to note that we never met the owners but we spoke to them via phone when we arrived. They then guided us to our site via phone. Park is very quiet with some train noise at night. The site was deep but no patio or picnic table was provided. Nice that the paved bike path runs right behind the park for easy access. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is based on weekly rate. Improvements in the park continue. Almost all spots are now concrete. Spots are spacious and level. We look forwar to staying here every year. Two clubhouses, a nice pond to walk around, etc. Our only knock on this park is the wi-fi. It's not free but we still did not use it as the wi-fi signal was too weak for us to even get a connection. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is our 4th year at Griffs and we will continue to come back. As the website states, most of the sites are long term but we see 1 and 2 nights stays quite often. The sites in front are back-in and some are dirt and some are cement. The sites in back are all cement with pull-thrus in the middle and back-ins around the circles. The hook-ups are easy, the sites are mostly level, there are trees but they are still growing so mostly the sites are sunny. The clubhouses are wonderful: clean, large, with full kitchens (can be rented out for parties), clean bathrooms and laundries, tornado shelters and TV's. There is a nice pond with fountains and a path around it. There is also an old railroad bed which has been made into a trail next to the park. The park is close to both Altoona and Ankeny for shopping.
Can you tell I like this park and will continue to return? We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We happened to be close to the park, so just stopped to see if we could stay there. Rather confusing as there was a clubhouse, but no office, and we didn't see anything telling us to go back down the road to check in. The phone number that came up in yellow pages didn't get us anywhere, but the owner happened along and took us under his wing. Within a few minutes were were parked. This had to be one of the prettiest, well-kept parks we've ever stayed in. Grounds were landscaped well, including a creek, pond, & wildlife statues. We were quite impressed with everything. Will be sure to stop there again and will recommend it to others without a doubt. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I don't understand any negative reviews about this park. This is one of the nicest parks we've ever stayed in. Extremely well manicured and there's plenty of grassy area between concrete pads. No tables or fire pits, so bring your on tables and gas grills. Check in was a breeze. With reservations (and you should have reservations) we just called the manager lady when we arrived and she gave me directions over the phone to the site. A first class experience. One of the best laid out, cleanest parks we have ever stayed in. It is actually a reason to go back to Iowa. $30 is the best deal we've ever seen for a park of this quality.

Huge sites, vast grassy areas to walk dogs, wide paved streets, etc.

I'd give it a 10 if the WIFI was free (it is very strong) and if the utilities were positioned for motorhomes instead of 5th wheels.

We stayed in site C5, a pull through easily long enough for our 43' coach plus dolly plus minivan, but the utilities were in the back corner, so by the time I was fully in the site I had to run ~30' of cable and 25' of sewer hose. The site slope was such that the sewer would not drain by itself, either. Next time, we'll unload the dolly and put it and the car in front of the coach and the services will play much better.

There is no office. You have to call ahead for a reservation secured by a credit card. When you get there, you call the owner and she gives you very clear directions on how to reach your site. She charges the card and you leave whenever you are ready. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Reservations are required, as owners office / management is off site and not overly friendly. The residents are mostly seasonal horse track and casino employees. Well keep units and full, level concrete pads. Wifi additional cost and not mentioned for a one night stay. Our receipt was placed on the windshield wiper after we settled in. Full service at site and friendly neighbors. Very nice club house with laundry, exercise, kitchen, tvs and a basement storm shelter. Sites have easy access for big rigs. Sites are pretty close. Traveling through spent only one night. We would stay again. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Reservations are needed as there is no office at this beautiful and uniquely designed RV park so call before 5pm as we did to determine availability. The park is in a very quiet location with spacious concrete sites and as website states, they prefer long term but have daily. Park is very clean and well maintained. Big rig friendly, great utilities, paved streets and concrete sites. Will definitely stay again when in the Des Moines area! We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

A hidden gem in the Des Moines area. Most interior roads paved. Most spots concrete (120 out of 142). Two beautiful clubhouses with immaculate bathrooms, showers and laundry facilities. Also has kitchen/large room facilities for gatherings. Pond w/walking trail around it. Park is well maintained. No free wi-fi but good wi-fi service is available for a nominal fee (I picked 3 days for $8.95 - 6 gig limit). Wi-fi was fast. Almost better to pay a small fee instead of frustration of slow/no service for free. A brand new paved bike trail (old railroad line) is right next to the park. Pull thru's and back in spots. Lots of room between campers. No fire rings nor picnic tables. Each spot does have a metal pole that allows you to mount a satellite dish without need for a stand. We will stay here again when in the area. We camped at Griff's Valley View RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
