We stayed here three nights 9/25, 10/2 & 10/3. and really enjoyed our stay. One of the three days the dust was quite bad but the other two it was not an issue. They move a LOT of campers through here and do a great job. There were rally's going on while we were there and while we were not part of the rallies we met some great neighbors. We had full FHU's and all worked well. We would stay here again especially during Octoberfest! We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Have stayed here before for access to the Amana Colonies, Kalona and area. We don't mind the open field feel, but the non-stop dust from the gravel roads remains something the owner should have figured out by now given the consistent negative comments. Other than the roads, it is a very good park for the local sites. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Oktoberfest in the Amana Colonies is wonderful, but VERY busy.

Stayed first weekend of October for FROG rally. Park in good shape with hookups placed in middle of four sites. All utilities worked well although some folks might need longer shore power, water, and sewer hoses due to placement of utilities. Close to the colonies for shopping, eating, etc. Good place for rallies with building and tables and chairs for rally use if needed. Fire rings with wood provided and staff friendly and will lead you to your site. Good time at park and rally. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

You are in the colonies so there is plenty to do and see and spend money on, LOL.

This was our second stay here. We just happened to hit it for "October Fest" weekend, so no passport america was accepted, used good sam discount. This is a very nice park, very well maintained & clean. Most sites as level grass. Some are full hook ups - but the sites farther out are water/electric only. There is a nice 4 station dump station. This park hosts lots of activities & rallies. There are nice events centers. Staff is very helpful. You will enjoy your stay here. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Dont miss seeing the amana colonies. Lots of interesting history & shops to find unique items. Especially liked the 1868 meat & smoke house. I believe it's the longest continously open meat shop in America. The brats & sauerkraut is the best we've had. :)

We arrived to find two Rally's in progress and Octoberfest. The gravel sites were all taken so we were parked in the field, but did have 50 AMP electric. They were picking corn close to the park so air was full of corn dust. Plenty of roads through the park to walk the dogs. Very convienant to downtown area. Would stay here again. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Went for 3 days to attend Oktoberfest. Made reservations online MONTHS in advance, yet were still put out in the back 40, grassy area, with maybe 10 feet between our door and the camper next to us (though the park was only 3/4 full). Twice in a row they have done this to us, though there were much roomier sites available. Opening our awning it was literally less than 2 feet from the neighbors slide out. (Last year we couldn't open our awning, no room). Trees are almost nonexistent in the RV parking area, and you have to drive around and find your own picnic table and fire ring as there aren't enough to go around. The cost of $32.00 didn't include online reservation fees - and was for electricity and water only ($35 includes sewer). Nothing to do at the campground itself - must go into town for activities. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Things to do - Amana is pretty cool, love it there. Winery's nearby. Outlet shopping in Williamsburg with a really nice winery just north of there.

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $37.00

We spent two nights here while we explored the Amana villages. The campground features pull through lots with two units per lot. So if you are first you pull through, second RV pulls behind you and backs out. It was not crowded when we visited September 2015. We had electric, water and sewer at site. And we had good antenna TV reception. Our small dog was entertained by the multitude of ground chipmunks popping up and down from their burrows everywhere. Be careful not to trip in their holes.

Open area great for star gazing. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Ox Yoke restaurant in Amana is great! Just leave room for dessert.

Park is very nice. The only neg is the roads are gravel and very dusty. Other then that it's a great park. The staff is very friendly. The Park is close to Main Amana that has a lot of great food and crafts. The other Amana's are all within a few minutes drive. Also Cedar Rapids and Iowa City are within 40 min drive. Note staff also went out of their way to assist me with an
electrial. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

All the Amana Villages are close by with a lot of great food and crafts.

Efficient check in to be close to our friends. Office person thought we could pull thru and not have to unhook but that was not the case. We could not back into spot far enough to hook to sewer due to person behind us. Asked to get re-assigned to N10. Sots were gravel but most now have grass growing. Attached area is grass. Nice new picnic table. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very close to Amana Colony attractions. Not far from I-80. Most sites are pull thrus if no one is in the adjacent site. All hook ups are in the very far back end of site. But sites are very long to accomodate big rigs and tows.

Laundry facility was the cleanest we've seen, although small. $1.00 for wash and $1.00 for 45 min dryer. Sites are long and large. Very little shade, but the temps were low while we were there. Hookups worked well. We camped in a 42' MH. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very large RV park. When checking in, the staff is very friendly and helpful and will escort you to your site. There is no playground or pool, so most of the campers are older. The sites are grassy and very long and wide. It is basically a very large pasture in the middle of corn fields just outside of Amana with many full hookups. The campground roads are gravel and dusty. It is called an event center so many clubs us this campground. It is also very quiet, easy to find, with easy access from I-80. We stayed here in a 39 foot fifth wheel and would definitely stay here again. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This campground is just outside of the Amana Colonies. Also the Amish community of Kalona, Iowa, is about an hour away.

Stayed for a week to attend a RV rally, then 2 weeks later returned for an over night stay. The quoted rate of $18. was PA. The rally cost was more but included the rally facilities. Good facilities for indoor activities, meals, etc. Gravel pull thru sites not very level. There are very few trees and keeping the grass seems to be quite a problem, especially around the sewer connections. Their water/electric posts are set up to service 4 units, so 4 units back in back to back and run hoses around/under RVs to hook up. Sewers were on the opposite side from the pedestals. Route US 151 from I-80 is a concrete road that has no 2 slabs the same height........very rough road. Recommend exiting to US 6 early and seeing some beautiful IA farm country at a slower pace.
The roads in the park are all gravel and in need of grading and leveling. They don't have to post 5 mph signs here. They don't have enough picnic tables so you have to acquire one if you want one. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Our rate reflects the "rally" rate, thus we give it four stars, although I would drop it down to three if paying their regular rate. It is, as stated in most other reviews, a very large open field with a few, mostly small, trees. If you arrive early and the park isn't full, they will lead you to your site in such a manner that you won't have to back in. The utility station does serve four campers, thus two will have to run their electric and water under the coach to reach the station. The sites are long and level. The spacing between vehicles using the same power station is adequate. The spacing between vehicles not using the same station is excellent. There are few amenities at the park unless you are attending a rally or function that utilizes one of the pavilions or meeting halls. It could only be considered a destination if you were planning on exploring the surrounding area - Amana Colonies. When you check in, tell them you want to be facing north, which means you want an odd numbered site in one of the "lettered" lots. THIS IS IMPORTANT - each power pole station serves four sites. The first four will be 1,2,3, and 4; the second set will be 5,6,7 and 8; the third will be 9,10,11 and 12; and the last set will be 13,14,15 and 16. In each of these groups you will want the site with the highest odd number. In other words, you will want site 3 or 7 or 11 or 15. You may wish to avoid 15 as it is next to the interior street making for more noise and dust. The reason - shade and spacing on the side where you sit outside. There are numerous trash dumps around the park and some sites have picnic tables. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Walmart, Sam's and Costco in Iowa City less than 20 miles away. The Amana Colonies has a very interested history and is probably worth touring the area. (We've just arrived and haven't had a chance to get out and about.)

Spent one night here while en route to our final destination. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The site was adequate but it was truly in the middle of a sunny and huge field. There was no shade. However, the site did provide access to a nice bike path to Amana and easy access to shops and restaurants. We might stay here again as a stop over, but not for more than one night. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.
