Traveling thru on interstate 80, we decided to stop for a couple of days, on labor day weekend without reservations! The did have room for us but it was a 2 night min stay, This is a large park, well laid out with roads and sites, we are in one of the fields with W and E only 50 amp and very good 124 volts ! Our site in the GW-7 section is very large , we are parked on grass, well maintained and very level. Amma is only about a mile down the road from us. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

The campground is large flat field with hookups. The sites are double site and they put RV 's back to back ie O-13 N -13. This year the park is not full so I have the site to my self. The amenities work well! If you plan on using the bathroom or showers it can be a pretty decent walk. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Their website says use exit 225 off of Interstate 80 DO NOT use that route I had to slow down to 20 miles per hour to stop the the truck and trailer from bouncing. Go through Tiffen or Williamsburg and use highway 6

This is a really nice park in the middle of corn fields. Very large park, well cared for, freshly mowed. 50 amp service, sewer, good water pressure, free wifi and a good amount of free tv on the antenna. The water and sewer connections are way in the back, requiring two water and sewer hoses. The sites aren't really pull throughs, but if you get there before the person in back of you, you can drive through. Wish they had put us in facing the other way so we would have had shade..you might ask them to do that when you come. There was an FMCA rally while we were here with lots of huge motor coaches, but they can handle over 400 rigs. There is a lot of open area at the park, giving this a very neat appearance. Quite a few trains in the early morning hours was my only complaint. Laundry area was nice and clean, $2 for washers and $1 for dryers. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Courteous and helpful staff. Level sites. Clean and well laid out park. Hookups are bunched together for 4 units but there is still plenty of space between. Very quiet and peaceful park. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice, large RV park located very close to Amana and the other colonies. I estimated the price as we stayed with a rally and I do not know the exact nightly rate. The sites are long and level, open with no shade, grass with gravel, full hookups, and with 20/30/50 amp. Sites are back to back so can be used as a back-in or pull-through if no one else is there first. Some sites are close together and others are very spacious with a picnic table and fire ring and lots of room to have friends over for a fire. There is no pool nor playground nor fenced dog area, but there is lots of green space for walking a large dog. It is also close to a bike/hike trail around Lily Pond. This a a great location for visiting the Amana colonies and the President Hoover Museum. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good overnight stop or place to stay if spending several days visiting the Amana Colonies. Clean. Level. Friendly service. Needs shade trees. There are small trees on site, but it will be several years before it provides real shade. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Convenient to Main Amana and all nearby Amana villages. Was disappointed to see decline of the Amana villages. Many shops closed. Restaurants nearly empty. Certainly not what I remember from numerous visits to the area 30-35 years ago.

Nice park, with friendly people, that if you ask, will tell you about some of the things to do and sights in the area. We paid $198, for the week, plus $13.86 in taxes, for a total of $211.86 After checking in, we were escorted to our site. There we found that the connections were all in back, but we have longer water and sewer hose, so it was manageable. The sites are not really pull-through, as they can park you tail to tail. We were lucky enough that it wasn't busy, and we never get someone behind us or directly next to us. The interior roads and sites were all gravel. Each site had a picnic table. They have a limited number of fire rings, which they will bring to your site, if you want one. Wi-Fi worked well most of the time, even though we had sign on every day. AT&T cell service was spotty. Antenna and satellite TV worked well. They kept the park clean, and most days we were there they watered down the interior roads to keep the dust down. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Amana Colonies, Herbert Hoover Museum and Library. The old Capitol Building is in Iowa City, if you are interested; we saw it, but we were disappointed. Pearl Button Museum in Muscatine. If you make the trip to Davenport, see the Rock Island Arsenal. John Deere Pavilion in Moline, Il. Walcott, Ia has the world's largest truck stop, and the trucking museum is next door.

Nice park, well kept up. The sites are long and level. The couple at the front desk and escorting us to our site were very nice. The only thing keeping me from giving this a 10 is the dusty gravel interior roads and the ruts at the entrance. This seems to be a popular park for rallies, and understandable, since it is able to accommodate sizeable groups. We have stayed here before when in the area and would certainly return. The Amana Colonies are nearby, with great little shops and restaurants. Friendly people everywhere we toured. The main town of Amana gets most of the tourists, but most of the other colonies have an interesting shop or two.

Ok parks with long level sites that are fairly close. The utilities function well including the WiFi. This is a large park and the restroom could be quite a distance depending on your site. OK for overnight and a few days while visiting the Amana Colonies. We would stay here again. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

During the week, this a great park: quiet, few neighbors. We usually check the website to see if any events are scheduled during our time here, as there can be a lot of people here for those, such as dog shows, rallies, etc. There were no events scheduled during our time here--per the website--but as I write this, at 9 p.m., we're forced to listen to that dreaded thump, thump, thump, of very loud music.....from a very large wedding. Our site is about as far from this event as you can get. Weddings and car shows, yes, there was also a car show today, are not posted on the website. The rules say that quiet time is from 10pm to 8 am, except for events scheduled in the Pioneer and Morton buildings. If we stay here again, we will be sure to ask what events are scheduled that are not on the website. We love visiting, but apparently, the events at the campground take precedence over the satisfaction of the campers. We will likely look elsewhere to stay next time. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Thank you very much for your feedback! We are so sorry that your stay wasn’t as quiet and peaceful as hoped for. The events listed on the website are those open to the public and we’re pleased you took advantage of looking at our website when planning your stay. In regards to the weddings scheduled at the Amana Colonies RV Park & Event Center, we use discretion and respect their privacy so we do not include those on our website. With that being said, we absolutely value the satisfaction of our campers and do everything we can to accommodate their needs. If you do decide to stay with us again in the future, please let our staff know of any special requests such as selecting a site away from loud events, etc. Hope to see you again soon!

Tips for other Campers:

Amana Colonies provides a wide range of activities, theater, restaurants, shopping, culture (history etc). Prices are a tad high which suggeasts tourist trap but you can mitigate that with planning. Main Amana is the commercial area but the outlying villages are quaint and charming. Make reservations at the Ox Yoke and Ronnenburg restaurants. The menus are particular so looking at their web pages is advised.

The park is large but we did not feel crowded. There aren't many trees which is great for satellite TV but I bet the park is very hot in summer. The staff was friendly and helpful. They provided an escort to our camping spot. The sites were gravel, level and long. A word of caution. The utilities are located at the back of the site. It was quite a stretch for the water and sewer hook-up. Fortunately I had some extra hose to piece together to make the hook-up to the camper. All utilities worked well once we were able to reach the connections. We would stay here again if we return to this area. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Friday, Saturday - April 14, 15 Amana RV Park & Event Center, Amana, Iowa This is a huge campground located in Amana. It has 450 sites on grass with full hookups sites and just water and electricity (50amps). If you need 30amps you need an adapter or they will loan you one. Located on the site bathhouses, showers, laundry building, huge buildings for events like rallies. We were there in April just after they opened up, so only about 20 RV's were there for the night. I can't even picture this campground full - it is massive besides having 450 sites they can also take 50 more if they dry dock. Located within biking of Amana in a huge field with few trees. We enjoyed our stay. The campground accepts Good Sam and Passport America. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.
