This is a great RV Park and a great place to camp. It is a huge park that can hold hundreds of rigs. The sites a grass with gravel where your tires go. It is right next to the Amana Colonies in IA. This is a very nice place to stop. The local food is good and not expensive. The villages are historic and have some museum type places and lots of shops. However there is little junk shops and mostly craft type places. I highly recommend this as a stop. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

A huge park! There was an FMCA rally going on when we were there, but still plenty of room for others. Sites can be pull thru if the spot behind you is vacant. Each site accommodates two RV's, back to back as W&E are in the center with sewer closer to each end. You need to unhook and park your toad in front of the M/H if in a motor home. Trailers no problem. X 10No Cable TV, but several local stations come in fine. Very close to Amana attractions. No extra charge for visitors. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park in a quiet, country setting. 50 amp full hookup pullthrough, ours was facing north which gave us beautiful shade in the afternoons. Very level site, with another site backed up to us. This park has over 600 sites and a The Creamery Theater on premises. No trains, no highway noise, lots of OTA TV channels and good, free wifi. This is our second time staying here, and we like this place a lot. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We didnt disconnect because we bring our motorcycle with us, so we rode to all the different Amanas. Be sure and visit all or most of them. The main Amana has the most interesting group of stores, but there are other great places along the Amana Scenic Route.

All of the sites are for back in, but they could be pull thru if not busy. Pretty much open pasture land, but appealing. Wifi worked great, Satellite was very usable because of the openness. The sites were gravel and level. Wonderful place for walking and lots of grass for Fido. That is why it is appealing even without a lot of trees. Easy access for everyone. Price paid is with passport america. I would definitely stay again, especially with Passport even if I had to go a little out of my way. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park reminds me of a fairground. Spaces are back to back however they did put me in a site so I could pull thru in electric and water only. I just took 2 spaces and paid an extra $10 for the second site. Site is dirt between grass and somewhat level. Roads are dirt and pot holed and retained the water from the previous night rain. Showers were clean and reminded me of showers found at a fairground or Rodeo. Park is very large and holds many RV rallies so call ahead to see if there is space. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Roads are gravel to get to site, sites are grass/gravel. Very level and open sites. Technically the sites are back-in, even though the pictures on their website look like pull throughs. If no one else is on the back part of the site you can drive through to your spot, but you do need to unhook your tow. Can be dusty during dry weather. Easy access to Amana Colonies. Hard packed dirt roads with easy access for big rigs. Sites are two rigs front to back. Plenty of grass between the sites.couple of main events (rally and fest) going on but it was quiet and peaceful. Close enough to Cedar Rapids for shopping. Good consistent power and water pressure. We would stay here again in our motorhome. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good place to stay to visit Amana. Large open field, no shade, but good level sites, decent free wifi. Host helpful and pleasant. But had this big empty feel. No pool, playground ancient, no activities, at least when we were there. Would stay again as an overnight. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Campground is not picturesque, but the sites are level and it looks like most of them are pull through. This is a good sized park but very quiet. We had a full hookup site with 50 Amp service. Very good wifi coverage; the premium option is $5.95/48 hours and was very good for streaming. Close enough to walk or bike to the town of Amana if you are so inclined. It is about 1.5 miles to most of the attractions. There is a walking path/bike trail at the end of the road with the Old Creamery theater. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sites are mostly gravel with some grass. Gravel ones are level, don't know about grass. Decent gravel roads, but no corner aprons on sites so you have to swing wide over grass corner (this is doable and does not seem a problem for the staff; also it was dry, so no squishiness). The park itself is kept in great shape, but the showers were not clean; it appeared there were several days worth of drain clog in most showers. The area is beautiful and plenty of space to walk dogs. Good free wifi for limited surfing. Pleasant staff. The grass had been recently cut without clippping pickup, so grass stuck to everything (on shoes, hoses, cords, and got tracked into the RV (arrgh). The grass was really a fatal flaw for us. We would not stay again. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Thank you so much for the review. We sincerely apologize the recently cut grass & showers affected your stay. We do our very best to keep up on cleaning both sets of showers. With the excessive heat and over 80 acres of mowing to manage, it's difficult to make sure grass is entirely picked up. In the future, we will renew our efforts to ensure these flaws are improved. Hope to see you again!

A large flat park with many trees but none mature and two Morton type outbuildings for events (K-9 fly ball contest the weekend we arrived, and Polka dancers the weekend we departed). Mowing about every day, even in the rain, which made for messy conditions. New lights installed while we were there and ground work started for new registration/check-in building. White rock only sites are very long (my walk off measured just shy of 300 ft for two back to back RVs). First arrival gets pull through second has to back in. Park staff escorts to site and instructs where to stop. Friendly enough staff (work campers). Has library, laundry room, community building, and two out buildings previously described. All sites are N-S. We requested and received a North facing spot. Four sites share one water spigot (we had 50 lbs water pressure), separate sewer dumps, and two power pedestals. Several dumpsters in park. LB available. Dump station available. One pavilion on NW portion of park. Was here 10 years ago and sites/spaces haven't changed much that we remember. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Look at their website (http://www.amanarvpark.com/amenities.html) if possible to get a lay of the land and how to get to office. The area is completely surrounded by the Amana Colonies which has NO grocery, hardware, or big box stores (there is a Casey's general store for small stuff and gas). Cedar Rapids 18 miles north east of Amana.

As others have mentioned it has a parking lot feel to it, but with so many sites and so few campers they do a very nice job of spreading everyone out so that you have the equivalent of four or more sites for your site. During very busy times with all the sites filled it may not seem as nice. The utilities are all in back and water and electric may be on the wrong side. You may need extra water hose and electrical extension cords. Wifi worked very well as did Verizon. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and lead you to your site, help you park and show you all the utilities. Propane is available. This is a good place to use as a base to see the area attractions. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Visit the Amana Colonies, especially the historical sites. The Amana Colonies were originally a communical society until 1932, they have an interesting history. The Hoover presidential library is nearby. The Creamery Theater is just across the street and had a very good play while we here.

we were fortunate to be here during the dog barking competition at the event center in the rv park. gotta love multiple dogs barking on an otherwise quiet sunday morning. i'll give the masses a 5 for their ability to bark, but a 9 and a half for being consistent. the park itself was ok. showers were dated. nice grassy area by all campsites. that's a treat. Other than being convenient to Amana, Iowa there isn't much to say about this park. It's apparent the campground was planned by a farmer, all the sites in neat rows like corn. Not much more than a parking lot feel but with a little grass instead of pavement. If you have dogs, they'll enjoy watching the ground squirrels. Amana itself is cute, but you can find other camping options nearby with more character. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Even though it was early in the season, the park was open, immaculate, and the staff was fantastic! HIGHLY Recommend this RV Park!

Sites are very nice - gravel - but be aware that this RV park is really tooled toward Rallies (so think fairground RV park) Still, it is very close to the Amana colonies and we would stay again We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.
