Fine for a few days. When we were there the waterfront sites were closed as they were still drying out from a flood, but the other sites were fairly full since it was a Friday night. Although there were many groups, it still had a nice family atmosphere versus the "party central" atmosphere to us. Only one main restroom/shower building for the whole park, so it gets pretty gross as the day goes on. We camped at Buffalo Shores in a Motorhome.
Has concrete pads, 50 amp at site, water nearby. You fill up with water then disconnect. Convenient dump on way out of CG. Train track on north edge but with ACs on didn't hear train noise. We were there during week days so no noise or crowds. We received $1 off per night for senior discount and did not stay on water. 14 day maximum stay. Great place to stay. We camped at Buffalo Shores in a Motorhome.
Great location right along the banks of the Mississippi. 17 sites are “riverview” and $2/night more. Shared water with other sites, no sewage, 50 amp was available. Party central on the weekends for the beach with boaters and locals might be an issue with some. Well patrolled on land and water by local, county and state police. Has to be mentioned: had first theft (gas can) in six years of RV’ing here. We camped at Buffalo Shores in a Travel Trailer.
When we pulled into the park on Sunday afternoon, we thought the campground was full with all the cars and boat trailers and people. The campground beyond the day-parking area had numerous open sites. Shortly after setting up camp the day users left the beach and all was peaceful! Watching the barges from our site right on the beach was interesting as night fell. The concert pads, and wide sites were a pleasant surprise. Scott County Parks have created a wonderful place to camp and we will be back! We camped at Buffalo Shores in a Travel Trailer.
This park is located right on the Mississippi River. It is nice but can get crowded. On holiday weekends it can be quite loud with partying. Nice Beach, nice playground and a boat launch as well. We camped at Buffalo Shores in a Fifth Wheel.
