I arrived on a Tuesday afternoon and there were hardly any campers in the park. I chose a site that was well shaded and had a pleasant view of the new walking bridge over the river. The restrooms are in excellent shape and the showers roomy and very clean. You can stay at this park for 14 days and then have to leave for a week, then you can come back for another 14 days. It is a county park and is very well maintained. I camped here last year and looked forward to coming here again. I wasn't disappointed. The electric meter in my coach read 125 volts, the water pressure was excellent. The only draw back to this park is there is no sewer connections. There is a dump station on site however. I will without hesitation camp here again. We camped at Pinicon Ridge Park in a Motorhome.Undo

The park was very well maintained, the staff very friendly and helpful. Even though the park was full there was minimal noise and traffic. We definitely will come back here next year. We camped at Pinicon Ridge Park in a Motorhome.Undo

We camped in Loop A ($19). Loop B is $17, but sites at A are drier and shadier. C is $14 with no water or electric. We like the large, clean, shady sites and would come back with no hesitation. No sewer, but the dump is just a short drive and there is room for three RVs at once. Only one shower house which is between Loops B & C. Central City with groceries and laundromat is only minutes away. We visited mid-week which gave us a lot of sites to choose from. We were able to grab a site almost water front, but close enough to drag our kayaks to launch. Loved it! We camped at Pinicon Ridge Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Sites at this campground are very spacious. The county does a great job of maintaining the campground and they are very strict. Our sites were very level and had a river view. There is a nice playground for the kids and plenty of space for them to run around. Sites fill up very quickly on weekends and are first come first serve to the point that we were yelled at by the DNR for holding a site for my sister (she had followed us to the campground in a separate vehicle and was less than two minutes behind us). You can fish from the campground but the boat traffic can be an issue occasionally. If you leave the campground and go back out on the highway you can get to the other side of Pinicon Ridge Park. There are many things to do in the park including additional (and better) fishing opportunities, hiking, wildlife preserve, playgrounds, paddle boat and canoe rentals, picnic areas and the "must see" observation tour that allows you a phenomenal view of the entire park. It would have been nice if there was a bridge over the river from the campground to the rest of the park. The flies were terrible because they seem to have problems with flooding, however the DNR does a great job of keeping the campground clean and well maintained. There are two other camping areas at Pinicon Ridge one is The Plains which is near the Flying Squirrel Campground and also features very nice family style cabin and the other is a more primitive group area (for three groups, three unit minimum and no showers) on the other side of the park. Overall a lovely park. We will camp here again, but it always makes me nervous heading out without knowing if a site will be available. We camped at Pinicon Ridge Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo
