19 RV Parks near Council Bluffs, Iowa
Sep 2016 - $30.00
This park is located at Harrah's Horseshoe Casino.
With a 40 foot coach it was OK.
Basically just parking around the perimeter of a large paved parking lot with water and Electric at the back of each site.
Security patrolled the area regularly.
Overpriced for a Casino so we did not bother to gamble and leave any more money.
Main advantage, it's close to Omaha.... - happyflyer
Sep 2015 - $30.00
This park is located at Horseshoe Casino. As a 45 ft motorhome with 4 slides we found it comfortable, clean, friendly, safe and convenient. It is a paved parking lot; however, behind each site is lots of grass. Spaces are plenty wide, good 50 amps, security patrols the area, clean laundry. No sewer but they have a dump station. Extremely convenient to Omaha, I-80 and I-29. - Freedom Bus
Aug 2015 - $30.00
The rv park is ok in a pinch it is right of the interstate. Price is a little high for a parking lot with only water and sewer. They do have a dump station.
I doubt we would stay here again. - Bear12
Jul 2015 - $16.00
This park does not enforce any rules/restrictions. It has homeless camps set up in it that are pigsty's. On weekends, this is party central. Too many cars/people on one site. Dogs running loose. People urinating out in the open as bathroom is too far for them to walk. Very unsafe for children as cars are constantly driving through this tiny campground just to see the "circus". If this isn't enough, power is horrible. This is all just a shame to see as this area is so beautiful with the bike paths and deer & turkeys everywhere. All on a nice lake. Council Bluffs has a lot to offer but find another campground. - exit to
Jul 2015 - $16.00
This was, by far, the worst state park/camping experience we've had. After one night we couldn't get back on the road fast enough. Some of the campsites appear to be used as a junkyard. There was garbage all over the park. The bathrooms were so disgusting that in the morning my children refused to use them; the men's room had fecal matter throughout the stalls. People partied until late at night; the campground was rather noisy. The water and electric loop was a little quieter, but still loud. If we have to make the trip again, we will look for a campground near Omaha instead. - GB family
Oct 2014 - $11.00
Camped here during a soccer tournament. The showers are shut off by the time of year that we camp. The water hydrants are on. We fill when we get there and shower in the camper. The vault toilets are typical vault toilets. Fire rings are provided with nice racks. We bought firewood at the local hardware store. Lake is nice but at this time of year too cold to swim. We have biked and run the trails with our family. Just this morning we saw about 10 deer and a dozen wild turkeys. We have camped all over the US KOA, Good Sam, county parks, and state parks. Most reviews are filled with negativity. I have not felt unsafe here or that my children were in danger of being harmed. Because this campground does not have activities or an office I don't feel it deserves a 10. However, previous review portray this campground as full of homeless, drunks, and crackheads - which is not true. - CampingFamilyFun6
Jul 2015 - $35.00
I don't often post reviews, but this RV park has bad reviews that I just don't understand! Yes, they do not take reservations, yes, it is cash or check only, and yes it is operated by a woman perhaps in her seventies who does not use the internet.. But that woman was pleasant, smiled, chatted with me during the easy check-in, and did not demand to park my rv for me. She did come out and "spot me" to be sure I didn't drive over the sewer opening which is raised a few inches from the ground.. So what??
This is a very nice little campground - the grass is well-watered and well-mowed, the water pressure is 40 which is passable, the 50 amp is solid as a rock, and the long-term residents have decently-clean setups.
Omaha needs a good campground -- it has one - Tomes. - LagunaJim
Aug 2014 - $30.00
I do not recommend this Park. Owner insists on parking the rig himself. Office is often unattended. Phones unanswered. Will not take reservations. Unfriendly. Caters to construction and long term renters rather than over-nighters or short term. - Rollenhome
Aug 2014 - $37.00
The above rate includes tax. This park is small and even though it was about half full, I think they were all long-term residents except us. Our experience with most long-term parks seems they can be 'trashy' but this one was pretty well maintained and not a lot of 'stuff' around. Power and water pressure were good, however, we couldn't get our satellite to work because of all the trees. Sites moderate in size and the manager/owner was pleasant (just not overly friendly). We'd stay here again as it is convenient to areas we want to visit. - Wannabees
Jul 2016 - $30.00
Sites are VERY close together, Can't put out awnings. No picnic tables. I called ahead and was told there was WiFi. When I registered they said the WiFi was inside the casino and I could bring my computer inside.
Showers were basically in good shape but needed a deep cleaning. Wads of hair in drain, and you could tell showers hadn't been washed in weeks. Water flow was a lukewarm trickle.
Would not go back. - Silvana CLark
May 2017 - $20.00
We camped here at the beginning of May If you haven't camped here before, Haworth Park is a great place for both the little kids and big kids. It is definitely worth a trip to come here since there is a lot to do. There are 2 playgrounds and 2 picnic shelters here, there is a walking trail around the campground and the riverfront, there is a bike trail that can take you into Omaha, there is a nature trail and fishing pond on the other side of the road from the entrance of the campground, and there's a boat launch if you want to go boating on the Missouri River. You can't swim here however there are a lot of water spickets around the campground, so you could bring some water toys to hook up to these for the kiddos to play in. The campground itself is really nice and quiet, it does not get rowdy or loud at night. $20 gets you electric and Wi-Fi. Each camping spot has a fire ring, grill, and level concrete pad for your camper. Some spots even have 50 electric. There is a tent area as well but these spots don't have electric. However people do camp at electric spots with their tents, this is allowed. Most places I've camped at just have a water filling station at the entrance. But Haworth has a ton of water spickets around the campground so it's easy to fill your tank with water. Or if you don't have neighbors around you that are using it, if your hose is long enough you can keep it attached. I think the way Haworth does it is better than most places I've camped at. You can make reservations online or you can reserve a spot at the mobile home trailer at the entrance when you arrive. ***Some spots are bigger than others so it would be more beneficial to book online since you can enter the length of your camper and the reservation site will tell you which spots can fit your camper. There are clean shower houses and 2 dump stations (one near the exit and one towa. - Husker_red2003
Sep 2016 - $20.00
Overall great park. Nobody cleans the bathrooms though. They are nicer than most, but a mop once a day would be nice. And wipe spots off walls and appliances. Rest of stay is great. - Rooer
May 2016 - $25.00
This city park sits on the banks of the Missouri River. The sites are large, level, have a concrete pad, picnic table and lots of grass. All are back-in. There are walking/biking trails adjacent to the park. Reservations are easily made on-line. 50 amps is available on a very limited number of sites. There is water but no sewer. The dump station if convenient and clean. - Freedom Bus
Jun 2012 - $15.00
Currently closed due to flood damage. - peakcomm
Jul 2007 - $12.00
City owned park with on site hosts. Close to Omaha, so heavy use, especially on weekends. Located near the Missouri river so lots and lots of activity on weekends. Lots of shade trees and some sites that are not so close together as others. Restrooms and showers are older and not well maintained. Generally, an nice place to stay for a few days with weekdays being better than weekends. - marker82
Jun 2006 - $12.00
This is one very nice county campground that is RV friendly. Very clean and quite with large sites. Lots of fireflies and deer to watch in the tree line. Missouri River is across the parking lot. No reservations so week-ends can be problem. Work campers run the place, but they were very friendly and helpful. - Zimectrin
Oct 2016 - $20.00
Beautiful park. Staff great. No cable. - Mbv-20145
May 2016 - $20.00
We stopped here for one night while passing through. Do some geographical research before you come here. The FamCamp is not on the base. It is located just east of the runway outside the fence at what they call the "base lakes" area. Getting to it requires a lot of street running through Belleview. The MWR office is beside the campground. Staff was friendly. There is a snack bar and pool here. The campground pads are densely packed. Since this is off base non-military people can use it as a guest of a sponsor. We met some of them. - Tidy Boy
Oct 2015 - $20.00
Spent one night on our way across country and was surprised when we pulled in and discovered all the water spigots open. They decided to turn the water off and didn't tell us when we made reservations a month earlier. Luckily we had a full fresh water tank. One of our neighbors told us about the bathrooms in the boathouse building and gave us the combination to get in. We never saw a camp host, but there was someone at the boathouse, when we went in the next morning, who directed us to the tank-fill spigot in between spaces 3 & 4 next to the horse shoe pits. Sites had nice concrete pads with gravel approach and departures and had plenty of room around them for slides, awnings, and such. WiFi was good, with no password required and had 2 or 3 bars depending on which antenna you used. Showers were inserts into older stalls, so they were very small for my 6' plus frame. Bathrooms were dated, but very clean with plenty of hot water and good pressure. We stayed here to visit the SAC Air & Space Museum, (which is about an hour away past Gretna), so we didn't use any other amenities. Aircraft and trains were heard but never disturbed us - your sensitivity may vary. We'll stay here again, but hopefully the water will still be on! - NavyStore
Jul 2008 - $25.00
We were referred to this campground by another campground which was full. We pulled into this place and should have pulled out, but we were tired. The campground is old and not taken care of, the bathrooms and showers were bad. Our septic line backed up and we had we had to dump at another site. The park caters to monthly, but most the rigs were clean. This park is still a pretty park, grassy and shady, just run down and dirty. Due to recent flooding (which had not reached the park) the water was not fit to drink, luckily it did not leave a stain. This place was way over priced, don't bother stopping. - 10-10
Jul 2016 - $15.00
Very nice park, nice friendly staff. Showers could be better for privacy and no full hook-ups are the only downsides. We would stay again. - Lynn-Donny
Jul 2015 - $15.00
Great county park, hiking, nature center, great staff. Only reason to not give it a 10 is not full hookup. - Let's Ride
Jun 2014 - $15.00
This is a great little campground near the Omaha (NE) metropolitan area. There are lots of hiking trails in the park and a neat little museum in the visitors center. The sites are roomy with lots of elbow room. The park rangers are very friendly and make sure all campers know about the activities in the Nature Center. They also take the time to visit and answer questions about other attractions in the area. The Nature Center is not far from the interstate, so you have easy access to Omaha and to the casinos in Council Bluffs IA). We will stay here again if we are in the area. - Bobbi1948
Sep 2016 - $8.00
CASH only at this Omaha City run CG. Tough call on rating this place. It was a dust bowl the day we arrived. Our toad had a layer of dust so thick we could not see out of the windows. I had to dump a bucket of water on the windshield before unhooking it. That was just from the drive in and locating a site. Lots of fast moving traffic within the CG keeps it dusty. After an afternoon of rain, things got much better. Sites are either RV sites or tent sites. The RV sites have red topped number posts, the white topped posts are tent sites. Sites vary from level to very sloped, the closer to the water the more level they are. These water sites come with plenty of geese droppings included. The site we had was filthy and the grass around it was long overdue for mowing. That was true of most of the sites. I also checked the men's bathhouse and it was pretty disgusting. Glad we did not need to use them. Being a FCFS CG, people start coming in during the week to pick their site. We came in on a Thursday afternoon and lots of sites had trailers on them that had been left earlier in the day. 30 amp electric was good for our four day stay. Water is available on the way in at the dump station and in various locations within the CG loops. The price and location here add to the value. The locals seem happy with things as they are. It is a nice cheap CG close to the city. But they really do need someone here to keep an eye on things. There is no excuse for people to come in and leaving the sites in such a mess. Hundreds of cigarette butt's littered the ground, beer bottle caps, etc. But the place works ok for a pit stop along I-80 in the Omaha area. - Bob and Inga
Jul 2016 - $8.00
Campground is still a great place to stop in the Omaha area. Problems with water noted in an earlier review had been resolved by the time we stayed here. Sites were clean and well-maintained. Sites on the lake are most popular, but all of the sites are large and have shade. Will stay here again when we come back to Omaha. Park accepts the Federal Government's Senior Pass, so rate is half off, if you have one. - Bobbi1948
Jun 2016 - $15.00
Beautiful spot but they need a campground host with a rake and a garbage bag. Spots had garbage floating about and the fire rings were clogged. Our site was littered with cigarette butts. Too bad as the view is nice and most spots are shaded, just no one there to keep an eye on things. NO water while we were here as well, (had tested positive for coli). Only pota potties. - AdrianaW
