Green Valley is a 1060-acre park with a 390 acre lake. The campground is in a quiet, rural location near the lake. There were a lot of shade trees and good views of the lake from most RV sites. The roads are paved with gravel RV sites. Our site was fairly level with an excellent view of the lake. Some sites are rather close to each other. There are 18 full hook-up RV sites, 65 electric-only and several tent campsites. There are several buddy sites and even a quad-buddy site where 4 campers can form their own courtyard. There were also 3 rustic, log cabins, each with a boat dock you can rent. All sites had picnic tables and fire rings.

There are two modern restroom/shower buildings, a playground and a dump station. Water faucets were scattered throughout the park. Half the campsites are walkup - first come/first serve while the other half and the 3 cabins can be reserved online. The lake had several boat ramps, numerous docks and fishing piers. There's a 10 mile trail that circles the lake. The DNR is in the process of laying cement bike paths around several portions of the lake. We camped at Green Valley State Park in a Motorhome.

We had just one night at this state park. Knowing we were just passing through, I opted for a pull through site, hoping that I could remain hooked up to the camper. However, the front of our site fell off quite a bit and I could have never gotten level front to back without unhooking. Also, we were pretty close to our neighbors on either side - more like a commercial park than a state park. Still, overall it's a nice spot. Lots of trees and a nice lake. I'd go back if it fit our travel plans. We camped at Green Valley State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park with long, level sites but sewer is uphill from RV. We solved that problem by using the dump station on the way out. We also lucked out because the Park Ranger told us of the balloon festival in town this weekend. Had a great time there. It's an annual event so if you're in the area next year this around the second week in September, make sure you visit. Creston is a typical midwestern town with friendly people and little traffic. Did some geocaching. We would stay here again if in the area, for sure, but would pick a different lot. Oh, they also have "buddy lots" where 4 campers form a square around a central area. Really neat and sort of private for a small group. We camped at Green Valley State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful park. We had a pull thru site with full hook ups. I marked no big rig access due to the fact that these sites are not level. I chose this site because the DNR web site stated it was level. We have a 40' MH and couldn't get completely level. The sewer connection was too far forward. We couldn't reach it without using an extra length of hose. And it was up hill which made it near impossible to use. We had to fish the hose under the motorhome and use the neighbors dump down hill from us. Which brings up another point. The sites are rather close to each other. Our picnic table was next to the neighbor's dump. ICK! We camped at Green Valley State Park in a Motorhome.

WONDERFUL campground! Lots of big shade trees. Great view of the lake. New restrooms and shower facilities in 2009/2010. Water is not at every site, but is scattered throughout the campground quite frequently. Some of the sites have full hook ups. Several buddy sites where you and your buddy can have each others campers facing towards each other. There are some quad buddy sites where four campers can all make a four sided box and have a central courtyard. I believe these sites have full hook ups. There are a couple of cabins available for rent, but I don't have any info on them. Overall this campground was perfect. Lots of big shade trees, there was a kids playground centrally located. For 2010 there is road construction on the roads that lead to the campground, but it is worth the little extra drive to get here. Can't wait to go back!!! We camped at Green Valley State Park in a Travel Trailer.

I think this may be a nice park after the lake is dredged and filled again. There is a note upon registration to conserve energy to help the state parks' budgets. The campground roads need to be graded to fill ruts caused by the extreme amount of rain in 2010. We might try the campground again later. We camped at Green Valley State Park in a Travel Trailer.
