Remote location to any town but quiet with good walking trails. Gravel sites are mostly level. Good 20' of grass between sites. Good power, water and sewer hookups. Pool is clean but shallow. 4.6" at deepest. Pool is very crowded on weekends. Park is empty during the week and fills up quickly Friday, starting at noon. Lots of young families in trailers and 5th wheels. There were only a few motorhomes. Apx 90 sites. Only downside is the gravel 1 mile road to get to the park off of 150. Owners take great pride in keeping the park spotless. We camped at MorWood Campground and Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the Amish bakeries and produce market (Amish Auction House) All great food. Don't park under the trees in August as nuts will drop on your RV.

Overall Rating:

This campground has many activities for families and kids. Organized games/crafts on the weekends are a plus. Swimming pool is nice on hot days though it can get a little packed. They have a playground, miniature golf (fee), volley ball, walking/biking trails, creek to fish in, dump station, camp store. Sites are spacious with lots of grassy area in between. We camped at MorWood Campground and Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

MCR has about 90 sites; looked like the majority are for permanent/seasonal use with maybe 25 pull-thru sites for daily camping. Our full-hookup site was very long, fairly level with a picnic table, firepit and decent grassy area between sites. Most of the trees are too scattered or short for much shade. The campground had wifi service available, but not free. MCR has a pool but there is an extra charge to use it, a playground, camp store, laundry, dump stations. They also had 5 A/C'ed cabins to rent. You're about 3 miles from Hazelton and 8 from Independence but there's about 30 Amish Shops (bulk groceries, bakeries, furniture, quilts, etc) just down the gravel roads from the campground. Occasionally, depending upon wind direction, a slight confinement smell could be detected. See their website for info on rate, facilities, directions, etc. We camped at MorWood Campground and Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a great park. It looks like there are a number of sites that are for seasonal use. There are lots of activities, with walking and biking trails, a pool and playground for kids, plus, apparently, some organized activities on weekends (we weren't there for those, so don't know for sure). They belong to Camp Club USA but the Camp Club rate is only good Mon - Wed. Our pull-through site was more than ample for our 36' fifth wheel and long truck and there is a large grassy area with firepit between each site. There are lots of trees, if you want them, but a number of tree-free sites with good internet or TV satellite access. The campground does not have wi-fi, but that's not a negative for us if we can get our own system to work. We'd definitely come back here -- the only downside is the distance from any town of size for shopping. We camped at MorWood Campground and Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
