My wife and I have camped at Spring Lake several times and have always enjoyed our stay. This lake is great for people who like to kayak and use paddle boats. The lake is not very deep. Most of the camp sights are on the lake. This park is great for kids. If you like to go berry hunting in the spring, this park is great for that. I found about 1 pint of black raspberries yesterday. Should be better next week. Spring Lake is well run by the county, very clean, sight are mostly level. They are grass. We camped at Green County Recreation - Spring Lake Park in a Motorhome.

This place is a blast from the past. The roller rink is the center of activity in the evenings. Our family opened and closed the roller rink both nights we were there. It is first come first serve, however, that was not a problem for us. We arived at 8:00 PM on a Friday night and had our pick of many good sites. We camped at Green County Recreation - Spring Lake Park in a Tent Trailer.

This is our favorite campground. There are about 40 sites that back to the lake. Fishing is only 50-75 feet from my camper door. No real big fish but enough to keep you entertained. There is beach swimming with a consession stand that sells ice. They also rent paddle boats, row boats, canoes, and kiacks. This is a small spring fed lake. This state park is run by the Green County conservation office and they do a realy good job of keeping it clean. On Friday and Saturday nights 8-10 pm they open the roller skating rink. It is far enough away from campsites you can hardly hear the music but you hear enough to draw you over to investigate. I have more than once seen this happen and the people renting skates to see if they remember how. I see these same people walking the next day stiff, but smiling. I think it is a place for all ages. Monday thru Thursday it is slow and you have the pick of the park. Weekends can get busy. I do not think there is a bad site for a state park, just ones better than others. They are just finishing up on a new showerhouse. It is located between Jefferson and Grand Junction on Highway 30. Would make a great overnight stop if someone was traveling the old Lincoln highway. We camped at Green County Recreation - Spring Lake Park in a camper.
