This campsite is close to the highway and can be noisy from trucks that use their jay-brakes. Other than that it is a nice campsite. The bigger spaces are dual occupied next to each other but long enough for a 40-foot motorhome and your car and fairly level. Wifi was decent to use. The camp-hosts are very friendly and accommodating. There is a lot of shade because of the big trees. Getting satellite TV was nearly impossible. We had full hookup for our motorhome. We camped at Riverview City Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here 3 nights while visiting friends in the area. Riverview Park is on the NE side of Marshalltown. Tall trees and roomy park grounds are a plus as well as access to the local bike trail. We had a full hook-up but were glad to move to a gravel site as a grassy site can quickly get spongy with rain. The campground hosts were very helpful. We camped at Riverview City Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Stores and restaurants are within 2 miles of the park, either in the downtown area or across the viaducts to the south. Lots of area to walk dogs and the bike path is handily accessed on the north part of the campground.

Overall Rating:

This is a really neat campground in Marshalltown Iowa, adjacent to the Iowa River. Unfortunately, there are no river views because there is a levee between the campground and the river. Many of the full hookup sites have no camping spur per se, one simply parks on the grass next to the hookups, but no big deal. Some of them have gravel spurs, but were taken when we arrived. Biggest plus of this campground is the very large dog park that is just down the way. We enjoyed having a place to take the dog to mingle with the other local hounds. Fishing is available in the Iowa river, but we had no luck whatsoever as far as catching goes. Full hookups for 20 bucks and Marshalltown, IA has full services for whatever one may need. There are some large shade trees scattered throughout the park, but not so many to preclude satellite TV reception. We really enjoyed our stay here. We camped at Riverview City Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Take your hounds to the dog park that is a part of the City Park Complex. There are many local regulars with their dogs that allow for some idle chit chat while your hounds stretch their legs.

Overall Rating:

Nicest campground host! We drove to the sign-in kiosk, grabbed an envelope, then drove to our 100% level grass site. Before we could park between the trees, the host rushed over to check that we'd picked a dry spot after this day's heavy rain. After we set up, she sweetly returned to be sure that we had everything we needed for the night. All this at a campground that is self-serve! Lots of mature trees. Very few mosquitoes. Great walking path around the pond and tennis courts. $12 electric. $17 full hook ups. Inside I could not hear the many trains pulling through downtown blocks away. We did stay the night during racing season, and the cars could be heard inside, but not when the air conditioner was running. Highway 14 near the park is currently paved with a texture that makes quite a rumbling noisy annoyance. We may return. We camped at Riverview City Park in a Travel Trailer.
