We ended up here for the 4th of July, and all the COE parks along the Mississippi were full. We were happy to get a site, but would not stay here again. The back-in site we had was less than 100 feet from the railroad, and because it was right by a crossing, the noise from the horn was really loud. I resorted to ear plugs. The COE parks on the river have 1 water faucet for 4-6 sites, and no hookup is allowed. We were precaution-ed to have full water tanks. Sites are nice and shady and the river view is stupendous, but I would try for Fairport or Shady Creek, COE parks with 10 miles to see if they are better. National Parks Pass cuts the rate by 1/2. It is next to a railroad track, but the night we were here they stopped running by 10 PM. Other than camping and fishing, there's not much else to do. Town has no restaurants, and the hills and roads are not conducive to biking. It is also rather difficult to find. It will be very busy on the summer weekends however. We paid $8 (Golden Age Passport) for 50A electric site with no water or sewer hookups. We felt the sites were too close together compared to other Corps of Engineer parks we've stayed at. We're here for Memorial weekend and it's packed. Verizon air card works great for internet. We noticed a lot of unoccupied RVs already set up early, obviously by locals. Allowing this is poor management. The train noise is very loud and there are no walking trails, which we miss. We camped at Clark's Ferry COE in a Motorhome.Undo

Campground is clean, well cared for. Grassy sites with some landscaping trees and bushes around sites. Paved level site pads. Campground is between railroad and river. Train passes about once per hour during day, less frequent at night. Sites moderately close to neighboring sites. Campground quiet at evening. A few miles from interstate. Host was friendly & helpful. We camped at Clark's Ferry COE in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
