5 RV Parks near Nashua, Iowa
Jun 2011 - $25.00
OK park. Gravel road in was dusty. It rained during the night and the road was a gooey mess on the way out. Fresh crushed limestone, left a mess everywhere on truck and trailer. An older park that needs a lot of cleanup and work. Very quiet, roomy site. Almost empty on a Sunday night. Nice young lady at checked in. - GOTTOYS

We stayed for 3 weeks before moving to Oakwood RV in Clear Lake. River Ranch is very woodsy. It is in the area that had flooding this past year so there were a lot of mosquitoes. The owners were very nice and they are working to get the park back into shape after the flood. They have cabins for rent and you can rent canoes, paddle boats and three wheel bikes. You can swim in the river and they usually have plenty of deer to feed in an in-closed area but that is being repaired also. If you are planning on staying for a period of time you would have to go to Charles City to shop and do laundry or to Waverly. We probably would have stayed there but we could not get phone service nor could we get the internet (which is needed for business). It's a good place to go to get away from it all and relax. - tandiee

Watch the trees on Clark St on your way in... stay to the left. Interior roads were dirt/gravel with some dips and potholes (take it slow). Self-checkin at a pedestal about 100 yards down. We called ahead so there was a packet for us with site#, bathroom codes and WiFi code. Sites were gravel pads (2" out) with fair spacing and room for my truck. Utilities placed in the middle of site. (Some "back in" sites seem to have the utilities on the opposite side). Sites had a grass area with picnic table, some were muddy. No noise. WiFi coverage was too weak where we were (OutBack section), but we had 4/5 bars on Verizon Cell. - FreeWheeler

Self check in. Grab an enevelope, map and go pick a site. Fill out info, deposit money and you're done. You'll have to call the number provided for bathroom codes. This is a beautiful place. Some sites don't have much shade but many are on the river. There is Wifi but it's password protected. We never thought to ask for a password. Bathhouse seems new and is rustic but nice. - MSSW
May 2016 - $25.00
We've stayed here twice, over three years, while visiting friends in Charles City. It's nice, quite, and pretty. There is no "entertainment" other that what you make for yourself. If that is what you're looking for then you will be more than satisfied.
There are basically two halves to this park, the front half by the entrance and the back half by the river and pond. The front looks to be full time residents and overnighters. We always stay in the back, past the registration house. The difference is profound. In the back you feel like you're out in the quit beautiful country side. In the front it feels like a typical "squeeze 'em in" RV park. Surprisingly the pretty back area is not crowded at all.
Some of the best sites you drive straight into, unhitch, and then drive back out. Not technically a pull through, but easily managed with our setup which is 55' total when hitched (5th wheel + truck). The rest are a mix of actual pull throughs and back-ins
The roads are generally good. The only concern is a small but steep hill going from the tent area up to "Northwest territory". *You can easily avoid it if you know about it.* The first time there we went up and lost traction while towing the 5th wheel. We had to back down and get a "running start".
Verizon signal was strong and fast. 4G LTE. Didn't try ATT. - Greg B
Jul 2010 - $12.00
Small park with grass sites, 30 Amp electric, lots of shade, fire rings and picnic tables. It had rained a lot when we were here with our 40' MH and we almost got stuck. There currently is no camp host so it is self registration. Bath and shower building was locked with instructions on the door to call if they were needed. We were the only campers in the park. - Jim01

This is a new City park with a fulltime park attendant. This is a very clean park, easy access, Wi-Fi, storm shelter, clean new showers and rest rooms. They are in the process of installing sewer and water to all sites however, when we were here: only electric. They do have a dump location and city water near the shower house. We stayed here to check out the barn quilts in this area. - kstrail

Hi, This lovely little gem is right off the highway, so expect some traffic noise. There is a picnic shelter. There are tables and grills at each site. I'd stay here again - User3761
