Funny place. Excellent WiFi and cable, power, etc., while the park itself shows little evidence of care or maintenance once you get past the pool/office area. Roads AND spaces are extremely narrow. Our neighbors had to take in their awning part way so we could get our slide out.

This would be a very tough park for bigger rigs with toads as many of the pull-throughs won't accommodate the full length and width. Gravel and weed sites are fairly level but have some ruts and mud.

The WiFi and cable and the price make it a good deal if you don't mind the squeeze. Apparently many don't...the park was FULL. Make reservations! We camped at Newton KOA in a Motorhome.

This KOA is good for what it was. A place off the highway to spend a quick night in a pull through with full hookups to dump the tanks (we couldn't!) and get a very early start the next morning. The sites were dirt (mud) and not very level (two lego blocks needed under left side tires) and had full hookups, although my sewer wouldn't reach (even with 20 feet of sewer hose!) Sewer connection was for a mid-rig hookup and we have a rear bumper hookup. Each site had a wooden picnic table but ours was worn and splintery so we didn't use it.

The campground was empty when we arrived around 2pm but by 6pm it was pretty darn full. The spots are TIGHT together and had we put our awning out our neighbor would have hit it while pulling in. Another camper (maybe an employee) also parked his pickup truck so far to the front of the empty pull through next to us we would have had to back out of our site to leave had he not come running out to move it once we started to pack up. Had he not moved it we wouldn't have fit between his truck and the Class A on the other side of the road.

Power worked without problem, water had good pressure and the friendly office staff *highly* recommended a pressure regulator. We didn't use the wifi but the cable was fuzzy on all channels for us.

Plenty of "grassy" areas to walk our two small dogs but the grass was long and we were afraid of ticks and other bugs. The fenced in area to allow the dogs to run would have been nice but the grass was about a foot tall and we didn't like the idea of them running in such unkempt grass. Like some other reviews have said, once you get past the office the maintenance and upkeep go downhill.

Overall, we were happy with our stay although we would not stay more than one night. We camped at Newton KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We are here for an overnight stay while traveling west. Site is adequate for our purposes. This site is shaded, however there are several branches that need to be trimmed. We will have to back out of the site due to low hanging branches. Sites in this area of the park are very close together. It is a very easy in and out to the highway. As it is just off the highway, there is some highway noise to deal with. Facilities look to be well cared for. Office staff very friendly and helpful. We camped at Newton KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a basic park for a KOA, but after spending 2 nights we found it more than adequate. They were working on improvements our entire stay, including adding 8 new sites.

The picnic tables and fish cleaning table need refinishing and the grass needed to be mowed more often.

There are a limited number of sites with 50 amp service.

Water pressure is 85#s, so I put on a pressure regulator. Nonetheless, we had the best pressure ever for a shower. We camped at Newton KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Maytag blue cheese dairy was closed for a manufacturing upgrade. Being from Wisconsin we would have lived to see it...next time.

The Iowa Speedway was prepping for a race this weekend. We could only go around the perimeter taking pictures. It is the only race track owned by NASCAR.

Newton is a very nice small town. There are a number of family restaurants around.

Just an overnight stay on the way out west. Fairly typical KOA: Close to the highway, reasonably clean and okay space. We did not use the facilities in that we arrived late and left early. No real concerns and would certainly stop again for an overnight spot. We camped at Newton KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Wonderful owner and workers, park-like setting, the playground and pool were far away. Nothing bad here EXCEPT the interstate, which is loud. We blocked the noise at night with the A/C, and slept like babies. We will stay here again if we come this way again. We camped at Newton KOA in a Motorhome.

Family park - large play area for the kids, encourage get togethers with rides and ice cream social. Very friendly staff, always helpful and willing to lend a hand. Even though it is just off the highway, the road noise was not annoying. We camped at Newton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Pull-thru site was reasonably level, but tight to enter and depart. Services were good. Friendly staff. Park close to Interstate, but at lower level which helped somewhat with reducing noise. Would stay again. We camped at Newton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a last-minute stop for the night and we were very happy that they had a large pull-through available. We were in a 42' motorhome towing a 12' trailer. A staff member took us directly to our site, turned on a night-light by the hookups (nice touch!), and stopped by later in the evening to explain some noise and reassure us that the large motorhome he put next to us would not inhibit our ability to exit easily. Traveling with such a large rig, we greatly appreciated this information. We also appreciated being given a military discount. The only drawback we found to this campground was that it backed right up to Hwy 80, so we listened to trucks going by all night. Other than that, they provided welcome refuge for these weary travelers! We camped at Newton KOA in a Motorhome.

Price includes tax. Was a pull-through with full services. Power was good. Water pressure requires a pressure regulator. They informed us that their park pressure is at 85 PSI. That's very good of them. Wi-Fi worked good at our site (we were close to the antenna). Sites are very close together. Park was very clean. This park is right next to the interstate so it is very noisy. Fortunately the big truck noise subsided at 11:00 PM and didn't start up until 5:00 AM. We just stayed the one night. We camped at Newton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed two nights here and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were directed to campsite by a very nice gentleman. The grounds are right next to the interstate so there was loud road noise at night when trying to get to sleep. The sites are close together. Kids enjoyed the pool and game room lots. We camped at Newton KOA in a Motorhome.

Pretty nice KOA with a good pool, good working Wi-Fi (hard to believe isn't it). Sites were a little closer than I like, but are doable. Appears to be a good selection of eating places about a mile away, but we did not try, mexican, chinese, and hometown restaurant types. Would stay again if in the area. By the way (BTW), water pressure is posted as 85 psi; believe it. We camped at Newton KOA in a Motorhome.
