Jul 2018 - $40.00
cant go wrong here for a stopover. Some sites had full hookups and all had concrete pads I think. No negatives on this park other then not sure what there is to do around the park. It was a Thursday night and the place was almost filled up. I would stop again for sure if in the area. - Campingwi
May 2018 - $30.00
Nice level sites. Could use more trees for shade in loop A. Ranger was very nice, grass was extremely long and unkept. I have seen it this way before. It seems, especially on weekends, that they would make sure it is kept groomed. Some people mowed around their own sites. They need to mow more frequently and get a better trash dispenser. - 5vercampers
Jun 2017 - $30.00
One of the nicest parks I have ever stayed in. Level concrete pads with easy hook ups. Very well maintained with really nice views. Park Rangers are very helpful and very friendly. Sometimes it fills up quick. In loop A you are better off having a reservation!! - Rick Stilley
May 2018 - $20.00
Very quiet and beautiful woodlands with an adjoining arboretum. At only $20 per night, it's a bargain. The campground host was quite helpful and friendly. The grounds were very well maintained. We have stayed here at least six times over the past ten years. Our experience has been consistently positive. We have a 37 ft. Diesel pusher and tow a vehicle. The sites are plenty long and quite accessible. All sites are GOOD. Campers include tenters, pop ups, travel trailers, 5'rs, and motor homes. We will definitely stay here again. Note: no reservations. Lynn County Parks are very well-maintained and appealing. - Bushy
Jun 2015 - $20.00
This is a beautiful campground located in a nice county park that includes an arboretum that has a paved walking trail through it. The access to the campground was not direct but fairly easy from the highway. The roads to the campground and in the campground were fine and access to most of the spots is easy. The check in process is self serve, take an envelope, select your spot, fill out the envelope and put it and your fee in the slot. The spots are gravel and mostly level with nice grassy areas with a picnic table and a firepit. Hookups are electric and water, no sewer, with a dump station on the way out that was an easy pull through. There are lots of trees, although they don't provide much privacy, except towards the back where some of the smaller spots are. We had no difficulty finding a spot big enough for us, although there were some that we wouldn't fit in. We had no problem with our satellite, but it might be difficult towards the back.
I tend to like state parks with lots of privacy and tree cover, but this campground (the campground, not just the park) is so beautiful I wanted to stay much longer than the one night we had planned. I would recommend this campground for anyone wanting a quiet place to spend a few days. - Uno Mas
Aug 2011 - $19.00
We stayed here last year enjoying it thoroughly. This year was the same. Excellent campground. Well-maintained. Clean restrooms and showers. Large spaces. Location is excellent for seeing Cedar Rock State Park, Amana Colonies, and the future birthplace of Capt. Kirk. Close to all the big stores and laundry. Camp hosts and rangers are very friendly and helpful. We stayed eight days and were sad to leave. - fulltimervtravel

Great stop for 7 am HWH appointment as it is an easy ten minute drive east on I 80. Easy access and several long pull through sites for big rigs. Talked to the owner on the phone, never saw him, easy self check in. Safe, clean, friendly, lots of dog walking areas, and quiet. - barbielab
Sep 2018 - $32.00
Like others, we stayed here to make an early A.M. appointment at HWH. On arrival, we were met by the very friendly owner, who suggested the best site for shade and easy egress. Our site was level gravel, well shaded, and long enough to leave our tow attached. There was some noise from the adjacent truck stop but overall the park was quiet at night. Just a couple of OTA TV channels, no cable, but some sites had a view to the satellite. Good WiFi until evening when everyone got on line. Verizon cell/data was strong. Overall a pleasant and the best place to stay for an early HWH appointment. - Meanderman
Aug 2018 - $32.00
We stayed here one night and had an early AM appointment at HWH (10 min. drive to the east) for a hydraulics system check. The campground is a former KOA. Our site was level and there are numerous tall trees in the campground. There is a section of mobile homes on the south side of the grounds. The pool was pleasant and well-maintained. Office is pleasant and staff was friendly and attentive. We would stay here again if traveling that area of Interstate 80 in eastern Iowa. - gbburgess
Sep 2016 - $14.00
We stayed here in a tent on Labor day weekend. Park itself is just okay. They have a lot of level sites, but everything is grass. Our campsite was rutted from an RV that either got stuck in the mud, or just sank in. They only have electricity to each camp site, no dumps. The dump site looked like it would be a challenge to get into, if it was at all muddy.
There are a number of campfire rings around, but not one for each campsite. I saw a few picnic table spread around, but again, not one for each camp site.
The worst part of this camp ground is the bathrooms. They do have high iron in the water, but that is no excuse. It has been a long time since I stayed in a park with such terrible bathrooms. They were filthy dirty, and didn't look like they had any attention for quite some time. The bathrooms appeared to not have had any maintenance for a long time, and certainly no upgrades.
I also didn't see any staff around. That being said, I didn't spend much time at the park, so they could have been in later on.
We will not be staying here next year, if there are any other options available. - John316
Aug 2016 - $18.00
Let me start out by saying this park does have WiFi, however you have to pay to use. There are 4 sites per electric pole but only room for 2 rigs. Parking is on grass, but fairly level. Dump station a different set-up, it's a pull in and back out. It's not user friendly. Stayed there with a club, as a single unit I would not return. - rving4fun
May 2018 - $35.00
Nice quiet area, however RV grounds needed grooming. A lawn service did go thru and cut grass that was about a foot high, and left the dead stuff laying. Did not move picnic tables, cut around fire rings, trees, etc. Trash barrels located thru out the park, were over flowing for the three days we were there; flies were buzzing around them. No wifi unless you stood directly behind the office building, but there were so many biting insects that it was impossible to stay long enough to download a book. No cell phone coverage, no 4G or hot spot coverage. Our campsite, along with the one next door, was overrun with small red ants, which found their way into our trailers. They were swarming everywhere. We wondered why, with the opening weekend of Memorial Day, that it was not better groomed. Insects may have been taken care of with emptying of garbage and proper lawn care. Campground has great potential to be a showcase. Owners should hire additional help or get a campground host. - PJC-S
Apr 2018 - $31.00
This was our last stop before heading home from a winter trip down south. We had stayed here before but it now has a new owner who is operating it a little differently from our last experience. We had planned to thoroughly clean the holding tanks and drain the water lines in prep for final winterizing once we got home. Campground was advertised as open but water had not been turned on at the site due to pending cold weather. The restroom / shower facility was also still closed for the winter. We were able to get water to flush the tanks from a frost proof supply about 150' away. The owner also provided a motel room for us to take a shower and clean up which we greatly appreciated. The park was clean. Our site was level and plenty long for the rig and truck. Site width was decent at 40+'. 50A power was stable and the dump port convenient. Our hotspot and cell signals were very weak. There is wi-fi available but we didn't use it. OTA TV channel reception was good from Cedar Rapids. A train rolled thru around 4am on nearby tracks blowing his whistle down the line which got our attention, otherwise it was reasonably quiet. Overall, the campground is pleasant with plenty of trees and we would stop again. Just call first to check on services available if you are stopping in the shoulder seasons. - Born2Roam
Jun 2017 - $26.00
This park has been under new ownership since April. The new owner is nice enough, but a little clueless about RVs. He'll learn. All sites are spacious with crushed stone drives and grassy patios. While we were here new crushed stone was brought in. Good water pressure and electric. Park Wifi is weak. Solid Verizon signal for both cell phones and 4G LTE data. Easy to get to off of I-80. There is some traffic noise here, but it quiets down after 11 PM. Train tracks are 1/4 mile to the north and there seems to be two trains that come by every evening. - freckles1219
