The RV spaces are spacious, level and clean. There are trees near some spaces, others are in the full sun, but the park is surrounded by trees that encourage birds and small wildlife. There are lots of activities available for the family that wants to stay active or if your like us and looking for peace and quiet, this should be your destination! The hosts were terrific and so helpful, they made sure we had every thing we need! We camped at Lake Shore RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great little park if you are going to be in the area. There are lots of seasonal rigs but the spaces were very well kept by the tenants. Some appeared to be college students and were quiet and well mannered. LOTS of activities available for those with children or grandchildren. Mini-golf, a little beach, climbing toys, a canoe, etc. The owners are new in the business but appear to have learned lots since earlier reviews as things appeared to be well run with everything under control. There was a "Birthday" party one evening that was well attended with cake and delicious homemade ice cream. A little chance to visit... We would recommend this park to any rv'er that we know. Spaces are primarily on gravel in full sun. Lots of grassy area throughout the park and a picnic shelter with a huge yard down by the lake. Beautiful. We camped at Lake Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

What a nice campground! Hosts treated us to birthday ice cream and cake on Saturday! Full hookups, 30/50 amp service, graveled, level sites with both back-in and pull-throughs. We were met at check-in and escorted to our site. Lots of space between sites with a picnic table and fire ring. Campground has a beach access to Oelwein Lake, Frisbee golf area, horse shoe pits, shuffle board surfaces, mini golf course, laundry and bath house provided. You get personal service here at Lake Shore Resort. This is one of the cleanest, well-kept campgrounds I have been in. If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet, clean campground, Lake Shore Resort is your destination! We camped at Lake Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Oelwein is the typical mid-western small town, with locally owned restaurants, specialty shops and grocery. Oelwein is surrounded by Iowa corn belt. A great stop over for a night or longer for a relaxed stay.

This is primarily a seasonal park. It was a good value for us with the PA rate. Electricity is metered. Long term residents were mostly friendly. Inconsistent application of rules by inexperienced owner. We camped at Lake Shore RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at this campground on Labor day weekend, there were many issues. First off we called on Wednesday to get an additional site and were told that they were full. LIES! 5 empty spots. The activity board said that there was going to be things for my children to do all weekend. LIES! Canceled. Then to top it off I am in the bathroom and I hear the new owner yelling at her worker about how she needs to clean and sanitize the bathroom while she is out playing in the golf tournament. She just totally belittled this poor girl! I have camped many a holiday weekends at this campground and this was by far the worst! BRING BACK THE OLD OWNERS! My kids used to have so much fun, they were so excited last year when the fire truck showed up with the stuffed animals. This used to be a fun FAMILY campground, now I'm not sure I will be back. The campsites are very flat, gravel back ins, 50 amp full hook up sites. Not much shade is available in the overnight spots and each site has maybe 10 ft of grass in between sites. This campground has mini golf, volleyball, tetherball, train rides, shuffleboard, swimming beach, canoe, and disc golf all free of charge for guests. We camped at Lake Shore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The park is very well maintained. Very clean and quite campground. There is swimming in the lake and the beach area is very nice. We needed packages delivered during our stay and they were very kind and accepted them for us. Great antenna TV and the WIFI is acceptable.. Laundry room very clean. I would very much recommend this campground Pet friendly and the owner, Joyce, was extremely nice and very professional. We camped at Lake Shore RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent a week at Lake Shore RV Resort. The lots are gravel, fairly level and relatively wide and the grass surrounding the lots is lovely. One of the reasons we chose this campground is that they have full-service camping.

The landscaped grounds are lovely and the resort is located on a lake. Although we Floridians did not swim in the chilly lake, there is a beach/swim area with a slide, and there are canoes and kayaks available for camper use as well.

There many different outdoor activities available including mini golf and 4 disc golf baskets. We have two larger dogs, and there is plenty of room to walk the dogs. At night there is very little light pollution, and the stars are very beautiful.

We are having a great time at Lake Shore RV Resort and highly recommend it to others. We camped at Lake Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A golf course and a driving range are adjacent to the campground. And the campground is adjacent to a city park and there are other parks in town as well. There are also paved hiking/biking trails available. Also there are several Amish stores close to Oelwein.

New owner as of 2015. Place was very clean and orderly. We needed a pull through because of towing a car-hauler and they were accommodating. Was only a few pull throughs. This is a seasonal park and there were a lot of units already there for the season. Don't know for sure but they may not get a lot of off the road traffic because of their location. Clean laundry. Wi fi fine with no cable. The only down side is the owner rides around on her golf cart and her dog runs all over. There is a rule that says all dogs on leashes. I think if you have this rule for your campers, then you should adhere by it also. We camped here in a motorhome. We camped at Lake Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a long-term seasonal trailer park that also books short term stays when they have space available. The majority of the available sites are back-in. Despite the enticing photos of the lake, none of the short term sites can see the water. The roads and driveways are gravel, the space beside the driveway seems to vary from site to site. Electric hookup is 50 amp only, 30 amp adapter can be rented for $5. The Wi-Fi is very good and the location is very quiet. I would come back. We camped at Lake Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is okay, not great but has good features. Wi-Fi works okay but sprint air card is faster. Narrow sites with a little green grass (about 10 ft ) between campers. Dirt and gravel roads and camper spots. When it rains there is a puddle around the camper about 2 inches deep. Our rates were suppose to be Passport America but like most of Passport rates it was not right. The regular rates are 27 dollars a night and here the Passport America rates are 18. Need 3 sewer hoses to hook up and 50 ft of water hose. The folks that run the campground are really friendly. There is a good book swap room that has lots of books. The lake has a small beach area roped off to wade in. I did not see any trees that would be considered shade for campers unless you were here when the park first opened. Lots of homesteaders here but nicely kept park models and RV's. Would stay here again if in area. We camped at Lake Shore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great stopover park; nice people and clean. It is a Passport America park. There is a city park right next door that is cheaper but does not have full hookups. We would be happy to stay here again. We camped at Lake Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice park with quite a few seasonals. There's a small lake and golf course next door. We pulled in late so we could not check out the amenities. Free WiFi. Groceries and a few restaurants in Oelwein, just five minutes up the road. Verizon cell phone on Extended Network. We camped at Lake Shore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Our price was the Passport America price. This is a lovely, quiet place on a lake with a small beach area. They do have a mini-golf area and a playground. It was a bit of a challenge to get here - it isn't off a main highway that we know of but it was a nice ride through miles of cornfields and certainly worth the travel. It seems to be about half seasonal sites but they are very neat and tidy. The office staff was very friendly and helpful on the phone and in person. We would most definitely return here.
