The views are great and the recreation park is large and very friendly. They have a full beach, are very fisherman friendly, and boat docks with lots of paddling opportunities. The campsites were only $16 for the night (50 amp electric only) and they have an envelope system where you pay cash and select your spot. You can also reserve online. The camp hosts were very friendly and the people who stayed there around us were considerate. There is no WiFi but the AT&T cell coverage was ok. We stayed in site #19 which is a very long pull through. Site #69 is a little smaller but has the best views in the park. Would have liked to stay here longer and definitely will come back. We camped at Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $12.00
We stayed while at a soccer tournament for FC United. It was a nice 15 minute drive. Sites were nice. Restrooms were very clean. The lake at this campground was very nice in September. During the warmer months a lifeguard is on duty. We spent quite a few hours there. The bike riding area list 12 miles of trails. This is not in the campground but about 10 miles away. We did ride around the park on bikes but it was on a road. We camped at Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $11.00
Stayed for several nights. Very quiet park, love to walk. Beautiful lake. Nice sites. The restrooms were closed so we used our own. I will be back again for sure. We camped at Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $11.00
Price reflects Iowa camping coupon price. We stayed 12 days. We love this campground especially loop 1, which are all pull-through sites and all are very large. There is a beach for swimming and good fishing. This campground was very busy on the weekends, but was very quiet during the week. We camped at Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.
Nice DNR park, clean, well maintained. Fills up on weekends. 15 minutes from Cedar Rapids. Beach for swimming, boat launches, fishing from shore. Bathrooms are clean. Hiking trails are nice. We camped at Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.
