We found this little gem after discovering that another park was full. This park has many mature trees over a lot of the sites, and godsend during the hot, oppressive weather we endured during our stay. We did not stay over a weekend, so don't know how busy it might be then. The sites included 30- and 50-amp power and water, both of which were strong. The pull-through sites were plenty long for a motor home and car or trailer, and they were gravel as were the interior roads. Our site was level enough to not require our jacks. This place probably would be a perfect "10" with sewer hookups at the sites and walking trails, but there were several trails at other nearby parks, and the dump station was fine for our 3-night stay. There was equipment for kids to play on, and plenty of open areas for dogs to run. We really liked this park and added an extra night. - LowesTravels

Decently sized sites; camp host available most of the time. Lovely shaded sites. Playground. - hartk

This is a jewel of a county campground. Nice folks tending it, wonderful park. We only saw the campsites but I think there's a fishing hole within walking distance. Great stay. Showers are a little creepy, but did the job. - User2084

This is a new campground, located at the east edge of town right next to the city park. Nothing fancy, just a great little place to stay if you have relatives in the area. Shade trees are still small, but will grow with time. Dump site is conveniently located. Self check-in. We will definitely be using this campground in the future! - AuntSmurf

Beautiful, clean park with good distance between units. On lakeshore with lots of space to walk our dog. We stayed after Oct. 1, when they go to half-price rates for the off-season. Normal rates are $22. There were only 3 units at our end of the park, so it was very quiet. While our spot was dirt/grass, there were ample hard surface pads. Even so, we backed in to a level spot. This park would've rated a 9 or 10 except for 3 items:
1. As a city-owned park, you'd think city ordinances that might affect campers would be highlighted. Lake View has a city ordinance prohibiting pit bulls and rottweilers inside the city limits. The only thing the web site said was "Pets welcome"; no mention of breed restrictions. We didn't discover this until after we arrived, despite calling ahead to see if they'd have space and if dogs were OK. It's almost a month after our stay and there is still no mention of breed restrictions on the web site.
2. There were no registration forms for late arrivals in the box by the office. This meant no guidance on the breed restriction issue or anything else. We opted to take our chances and, if our Rottweiler caused an issue, I told the staff we'd be sure to mention these failings in court.
3. Because we arrived after the office closed, we had no ability to access the WiFi the first night because they require payment before giving you the password. This wasn't mentioned when I called ahead; I'd have given them a credit card number in advance. - Dobiedaddy

A very clean park but sites are very close together. Sites are gravel and easy to get into. Cell phone and internet card worked well. Would stay here again if in area. - ds4006

We stay here frequently. Playground for kids, sand beach, mini-golf. Sometimes they don't have enough fire rings, but that usually only happens when the place is full. - iowasparrow
