11 Parks near Tipton, Iowa
Aug 2007 - $7.00
Great stopover east of Iowa City about 4 miles off of I-80. County park along the Cedar River. Very open with 30 amp service. Relaxing environment if you just want a campsite without any of the extras. $5 for no electric, $7.50 with electric. Can't beat those rates. Watch the river though if there is a significant amount of rain upstream. It can rise rapidly up to the campsite area. - Texas Mooseport
Jul 2015 - $1.00
We drove in after reading the Good Sam ratings...boy was that wrong! Made a loop and left. We did NOT stay here, the place just did not appear inviting. The cost of $1 was ONLY entered so that I could leave this review, we did NOT stay here.
We were drawn to this RV park by the Good Sam ratings, which were Facilities 9, Restrooms 9.5 and Appeal 9. It was near dark when we arrived at the location and the general appearance was not good. I would rate it at maybe a 5 or 6 for general appearance. Most of the campers appeared to be permanent and there was nobody outside or at the registration area (it was later when we arrived). We were tired and decided to try another park in the area. I will say that when we called earlier in the day to see if there was a site available, the person that I spoke to was very nice. - BuckeyeTravels
Jul 2015 - $25.00
Needed an overnight near July 4th so we had slim pickings at reasonable rates. Location near Iowa City.
Dusty access road right next to I-80. Water hook-up not near my coach connection, so I did not hook up. 30 amp power OK. Dump at top of hill. Office staff OK. Would not stay here again. - john rv
Aug 2013 - $28.00
The highway noise kept us from getting any sleep! The "overnighters" are put in rows literally within a stone's throw of the Interstate highway. We might as well have been parked in the median... We stayed here to have work done on our coach at HWH Industries (leveling jacks/slides); but, we will never stay here, again! - luckydog
Sep 2016 - $27.00
This is a very well kept older former KOA. Sites are not terribly close together. Sites are a little unlevel because the land is hilly. Water pressure is low but other utilities are good. There is a nice pet area and playground. There is also a pool. Normal price is $35 and they take GS. However they lowered the price to $27 for the fall. Next door is a BP station with diesel truck pumps. Great bonus! - The Griffins
Sep 2016 - $29.00
Stayed 2 nights waiting for repair service appointment @ HWH.
Very park like setting,No litter/No trash & the lawn was immaculate.
We are a 40' Foretravel DP with toad and had several sites to choose from. No it was not perfectly level but we made do.
Electric was 126 & 124 per leg on a 50a hookup.
No issues getting satellite coverage.
didn't hook up to water or sewer, but they were conveniently located. - Saddlesore
Sep 2016 - $28.00
Although an older park, this place is just perfect for an over night stay. Most sites are quite level and easy to get in and out. It is close to I-80, so traffic noise might disturb some. Once we bedded down for the night, we had a great night sleep. Office staff was very friendly and check in was a breeze. - cbay
Aug 2013 - $20.00
This campground has been around for along time. It's at river level and gets flooded out almost every spring. Which is the reason for not having water or sewer at this time. Its a very clean park with level sites. You get a free stack of fire wood upon arrival. Water activities such as tubing and canoeing are offered. - rving4fun
Oct 2016 - $10.00
Had a great site W49 at this COE campground. Situated on Coralville Lake, IA, this was a great pick for an overnite on our cross country trip on I80. This campground would be a great camping destination. 2 bars on Verizon. Our site was electric only. Gravel site with paved interior roads and grass between sites. We backed up to the lake for a gorgeous view. - smitty12
Jun 2016 - $11.00
Level site, clean power, very nice campground. Did not use bathrooms or showers. Easy drive off of I-80. Excellent value with America The Beautiful card. - be rob
Oct 2015 - $20.00
This is another great COE park. The staff was courteous and helpful. If you do not have a COE book, get one. The parks can be difficult to locate. The standard fee here was 20$, but with a "Geezer Pass" it was 10$ and if you are eligible and don't have that card, get one. We were only looking for a shower and an overnight with electric as we didn't or want anything more. The setting is beautiful. - Matt_C
Aug 2011 - $16.00
Beautiful park! We used a back in site that supposedly had a "slight" slope. We never did get quite level. The pull through sites were worse. There was a large motorhome on one that the front wheels were off the ground and looked like they could have used a ladder to enter the door. But other than the sites not being level, it was a pleasant stay and family oriented. - User781
Jul 2016 - $12.00
The showers are private and very clean. Sites are a bit tight for long 5th wheels. Trails are very nice. You must reserve early for full hookups because there are very few. - Rascal123
Jul 2016 - $10.00
This is another great COE park that is very popular on weekends. Our site was a little tight and very close to the road, but we managed. There are plenty of much nicer and larger sites, but we had reserved sight unseen. Now that we have been there we would look at sites around #120 area. There is a very nice beach and boat ramp, and boat rentals nearby. Beautiful drive into park, a bit twisty, but no problem even pulling a big trailer. Definitely a family oriented place. We will likely return. - lc47
Jun 2016 - $13.00
ACORE (American Council on Renewable Energy) facility, beautiful, very nice campground and staff. Space was perfect. Hosts were very accommodating. - Bajadrmr
Jun 2012 - $23.00
A nice state park, a little on the smaller side. To get turned around it is very tight. Sites are nice and level with not much privacy between you and your neighbors. I would probably not stay here again. - PackerFanRick
Oct 2008 - $14.00
We stopped here for one night while traveling, sites were nicely laid out and fairly level. - VACHZHD
Jul 2007 - $12.00
This is a small state park off US-151, NE of Cedar Rapids, and has just 26 sites, about half of which have 30-amp electric hookups. You may well find yourselves the only ones there, but reservations can be made on-line, follow the link on the Iowa Parks website. The campground is well shaded. Only a few sites are level, but most are within limits for an RV. A small golf course is adjacent with the clubhouse serving breakfast & lunch if you want to "eat out". VERY quiet at night. - SkyparkJohn
Aug 2015 - $35.00
The campground is part of a popular marina on the shores of Coralville Lake, and the setting is lovely. We were there on a busy summer weekend when all sites were taken, so that we had neighbors close on either side of our site. While other aspects of the campground were fine, the restrooms were not; they were dirty and did not appear to be cleaned during the entirety of our stay. The showers were especially bad. The on-site restaurant has live music on weekends, and the noise on a Saturday night was intrusive. In addition, trash had to be hauled quite a distance from the site and there were no recycling bins. - kvdvirginia
Jul 2015 - $33.00
Park has great deal of seasonal residents, not leaving many sites for visitors. Staff that checked us in did not know which sites were 30 or 50 amp, didn't clarify that we wanted sewer with 50 amp (we were staying couple days), sent us to 3 different sites (2nd site we had already leveled on blocks before we realized it was 30 amp). Ended up that we took site without sewer, which was gravel, fairly level (previous site was not) and spacious, plenty of room for motorhome and towed and 4 slides. Site had beautiful shade trees which were very helpful for comfort, but blocked our DirecTv signal. Verizon service very good. This park really caters to locals who come in for weekend with their own watercraft, nothing is available for rental. The neighbor says they have entertainment on the weekend. I don't think you'd get in on weekend without reservation but Mon-Wed ok. Park was quite a ways from interstate which made the setting serene. - CupcakeRIA
Sep 2014 - $31.00
This is a beautiful shady campground on Coralville Lake. There is a busy marina and a popular bar/restaurant on site. The campground has a playground, sand volleyball courts, and horseshoe courts. The sites that are on the lake have full hookups, but those sites are reserved for seasonal campers. We were on site W 13 which was water/electric and had a nice view of the lake. All sites are long and shaded. The bathhouse was clean and modern. However, there is only one, and it is not in the overnight camper section. Lots of campers have their own golf carts. We enjoyed drinks and lunch at Bobbers, the bar and restaurant on site. The seasonal campers were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely return. - shayerk
