Pretty much everything these folks promise you when signing up is bogus! The only thing you pay for is a nice lake view. If you are in an rv, you may have water or you may not, you may have internet or you may not, you may have electricity or their electricity may blow your system. If you are camping and looking for a fun yet peaceful place, forget it! Their bathrooms are gross and full of spiders and earwigs, the camp areas are teeming with spiders and other creepy crawlies and their security consists of one guy. the pool water is dirty and filled with bugs. Their "snack bar" sucks and consists of Mexican dishes only that are lacking in hygienic preparation-eat at your own risk. I went camping there one night after I was promised family atmosphere and peaceful relaxation-never happened! They allowed a group of partiers to blast their boombox all night long to horrible rap music and the partiers cursing...didn't get a wink of rest. Save your money, don't believe their hype and go elsewhere. Trust me, this place is extremely over-rated. And their management is even worse, I politely attempted to get a partial refund of a membership after my night of hell and they blew me off because I advised them (at their request) of what I had gone through. Do yourself a favor and seek alternate camping/rv arrangements. We camped at Roca Azul RV Resort in a Tent.

An addition to our earlier comments. In Spring and Summer, we recommend the shaded sites as the ones in the sun are very hot. We stayed over three months, and, save for a little mosquitoes at night, it is really a very pleasant park. There are none close by in the Chapala Riviera with the same standards and amenities. We camped at Roca Azul RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Roca Azul is a rather new park in Jalisco, next to Guadalajara, the second largest city in Mexico. It is close to Jocotepec, amidst fields of strawberries, raspberries and various vegetable crops for export in the US and Canada. Situated on the grounds of an old Celebrity resort, it boasts 2 swimming pools, one heated by hot springs. The grounds are very large, with football fields, tennis courts, and a HUGE kid's playground. The sites are close to the Lake Chapala, and we can see many nice birds all day long, including an army of hummingbirds. The camp is very quiet, even though as I write this review there are over 35 rigs. Mostly Canadians, Americans and some Mexicans. Electricity is very stable, water is fit to drink, and the sewers have been working fine. Not in the US five star class, but certainly a top grade resort for Mexico. We are planning to stay for a few months, as the climate here is simply wonderful. The owner and his wife are truly great hosts, and we feel more as part of a large family than in an anonymous camp. Social life is great, as there are a few here who are returning for the 2nd and 3rd time, showing newcomers where to go and what to see around, and there is a lot. Worth the detour. We camped at Roca Azul RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Roca Azul RV park is a large friendly park with a choice of 50+ sunny or shady sites. The many large trees, two pools and playing fields make this a family haven. Within walking distance of the park is the town of Jocotepec which has everything the traveler needs, from many well stocked grocery stores, fish markets to a modern Bodega. This is our second winter here and we will be back again next winter. We camped at Roca Azul RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
