This is a quiet campground owned by the City of Argonia. It is located less than a mile south of the city on a nice paved road providing easy access to the campground. There is also a nice paved bike/walking path from the City down to the campground. You can either self-register at the campground or go to the City Hall, clearly identified on the main street leading down to the campground. We registered at City Hall and were given a passcode for the campground WiFi but were unable to locate any signal. However, there was decent Verizon and AT&T cell coverage at the campground. This is a basic park, with a gravel loop taking you to the sites on firm grass. Most of the sites are full hookup, water, 50 amp and easy pull through. There is no cable TV, but there are several strong HDTV over the air signals available from nearby Wichita. The only issue we had was that the grass was full of pickers and burrs, enough that we had to carry our two dogs over to the road and back, as well as being very careful not to carry the pickers back into our RV. We did mention this to the lady at City Hall. She said she was unaware of this but would mention it to the grounds keepers. Perhaps the burrs are only a fall thing, only mentioning it so that readers are aware of this. We would certainly make this a stop on any future trip through this area. We camped at Argonia River Park in a Motorhome.
Tips for other Campers:
There is very little shopping or restaurants in Argonia so would highly recommend stocking up on groceries prior to your arrival.
This is more like a pasture (well-mowed) with full hookups. That said, it's very quiet with only an occasional train in the distance, and certainly not crowded. It's on the Chikaskia River and is a very decent place. There is Wi-Fi, but to get the password one has to go to City Hall and sign some agreement and it's only open 8-12 and 1-5 Mon-Fri. I was there Saturday, so no Wi-Fi for me. Pick your spot, put your $15 in an envelope at the restrooms and nobody says "boo". We camped at Argonia River Park in a Motorhome.

After what we had been staying in, this park was like the Hilton. Granted, it doesn't have any amenities, but it's nice. The camp hosts were most helpful. We were working in the area and it appeared that several of the other RV'ers were doing the same. It felt safe and secure and we had no qualms about being gone from the RV. The sites are set on grass and it rained a lot, but we didn't have any problems. We camped at Argonia River Park in a Motorhome.

I stayed here because there were no other parks available nearer to where I was working. The park sits approximately one mile south of the city of Argonia and is situated next to the Chikaskia River. There is a short walkway (maybe 200 yards total) that runs along the riverside and goes along the main road through town. Fishing is allowed in the river with a proper Kansas fishing license. Be aware that there is a gun club on Tuesday nights that meets next to the park and has some sort of target practice. The shaded sites are primarily along the lower section of the park next to the river. Other than the men and women's restrooms (that contain one toilet and one shower) and the picnic pavilions, there are no amenities here. This RV park is pretty "bare bones" other than the fact that it has pull-through spots and full hook-ups. The 10 pull-though spots sit on grass (although the ground appears to be pretty solid). In its favor, however, is the fact that it is well-maintained in terms of appearance. The grass is kept mowed and the local police patrol the area regularly. There is a little old lady who lives on site. Its main drawback is that the amenities are sparse. However, the price isn't bad. A site with full hookups is $15, while one with only electric and water is $10 and tenting is only $5. There is a dump station available by the bathroom facility. The main problem with the bathrooms is all the critters. The toilet and shower itself appear clean, but the area surrounding them would benefit from a pest control service.
